Good News!
Greek Life at Chapman is really positive & collaborative at Chapman. It’s neither a drunken party scene, nor a hazing nightmare. Nor is it boring because they don’t have Greek Row AKA live-in houses.
Sorority Rush AKA Recruitment happens in the Spring, 1 week before Spring Semester starts. This is great because it helps girls get used to college life, dorm life, and making friends outside of Greek Life. It’s much more positive.
DO attend the Greek Life Panhellenic (umbrella group of all the sororities) mixer events in the Fall. These events allow you to learn about the sororities and briefly meet girls in each sorority chapter.
NOTE: Recruitment at Chapman is competitive! It’s not like “The South”, but it’s not an easy slam-dunk either. If it’s important for you to be part of a sorority, then get to know girls in the sororities early - if you can. And get letters of recommendation sent to each sorority that accepts them. Be open minded & don’t set yourself up for heartbreak by only wanting to join 1-3 of the sororities.
Most girls like/would be happy in @ 7 of the 9 Panhellenic sororities at Chapman. The remaining 2 are a great fit for either quirky, or more quiet/shy girls. Regardless, the sororities all get along with each other & they all have fun activities. Most girls have a bunch of friends in multiple sororities AND friends that aren’t in any.
These are the Panhellenic Sororities at Chapman - in no order.
