Breed Info Curious to know my late cats breed

His name was Charley and I got him at 5 weeks (my sister just kind of threw him at me). First cat.

Behavior: As a kitten he couldn't be without me and would jump in the shower so I would bathe him while showering. As he got older we lived in Downtown Detroit and he would walk with me to the corner store and back. Didn't like anyone else really, hated most of my boyfriends and relatives. What he really loved was pulling on his back/neck area HARD. He also loved to hide and attack company.

Hes not a Russian Blue. I'm pretty sure I figured out the breed but forgot. He was long haired and floofy.

Also, he loved Goldfish, not the fish but the crackers.

Sorry being sad even though it's been years without him.

My girlfriend surprised me with this little guy from the shelter this morning. Do you think he’s going to end up as a long hair cat or something like a shorthair/medium hair? Also, i don’t know what to name him. I’m thinking Socks, Spuddy, or Lotty.

This is violet/violence because she’s still a little spicy sometimes. She came from a feral colony and seemed rehabable so we took her in. She’s adjusting well, and will definitely be the best house cat. The vet said she’s around 12 weeks old, weighs 2.5 pounds. Google says she’s a ragdoll/siamese mix. She does go slinky when she’s held, but I think she should be floofier if she’s ragdoll. What do you all think?

Is she considered a black cat? I'm asking cuz she has stripes? Sometimes she seems to have a lil auburn depending on the lightingg. I feel like this is a severely dumb question 😹

Questions Is she a Siamese mix?

Thumbnail

The person we got her from said her mom was Siamese and her dad wasn’t which would make her a Siamese mix, I asked this not too long ago and lots of people said she just looks like a DSH with point coloring. She also has gorgeous blue eyes. it’s possible her mom was also just a DSH with point coloring that the original owner just didn’t look into well. She also used to be a lot lighter when she was a kitten if that’s relevant at all

Unsure of my cats breed! I thought she was a Persian but now thinking maybe a ragdoll or just a long haired kitty? Shes the runt of our litter moms a calico, very fluffy, she’s got a little of the Persian flat face, short stubby legs and short tail. Thanks!

I posted my baby Hilda in [r/mainecoons](r/mainecoons), but they removed the post because she isn’t a Maine coon, even though she looks EXACTLY like the Maine coon I had growing up. And my cat growing up was a pedigreed Maine coon. What breed do you think she is? I’m convinced she’s a Maine coon. What do you think?

This is my parents rescue cat, her name is Squish and I believe she’s about 8 months old. The vet told them she is scottish fold but I don’t think she is. My best guess is american curl polydactyl, but I recently learned of the Keetso breed. What are your thoughts??

He was a rescue from an abusive home so I have no idea if he's a breed cat or he's just normal but his pattern is very unique :D that's why I'm curious

I attached many photos to try and give you guys a good frame of reference of her head shape, size, coat type, color, ear distance, etc. Slide 7 is her next to my brother's 1 year old purebred maine coon for a good size reference.

We thought mostly russian blue but she is clearly a mix and not purebred. The question is, mix with what? Chartreux? Korat? RB? British shorthair? Obviously she's probably >50% domestic shorthair.

Her coat is super soft and plush. She is relatively small/skinny but does carry a little "pouch" when standing, despite being a healthy weight and good diet/activity level. She elongates a ton when she wants to (I've seen her stretch her neck to giraffe proportions). She has greenish-yellow eyes, I think predominantly yellow but the green is noticeable when inspecting irl.

She is super affectionate, often playful (with lights, cables, scratching posts and towers, etc.) but also very calm. She is the most malleable cat I have ever met or had (you can physically move and manipulate and cuddle with her basically however you want to). When I come home from work, she will sprint into my room and wait for me to approach the bed to lay together, looking back expectantly. If I walk to the bathroom, she will follow me closely and likes to sit with my girlfriend and I if we are using the toilet. She really likes water (playing in tubs after people shower, jumping onto the tub when my girlfriend is sitting in a bath, climbing in the sink, sitting on the shower basin between the liner and curtain when we are showering, etc.). She is... uh, not what I would describe as smart. She is INCREDIBLY vocal.

It doesn't matter really, but we are curious. She is the best and super adorable and I love her. Go River :D

Questions Question about cat breeds.

So I've been lurking in this sub for a while and recently something I've noticed a lot is the fact there are no mix breed cats. It's either a pedigreed breed or its a domestic shorthair/longhair. My question is what if you have a pedigreed cat that had a litter of kittens with a domestic cat, could you say they are a mix of whatever 2 cats bred to do the kittens just get labled as a domestic cat?

Discussion You can own any breed you want* — what are you choosing?

* if the cat’s breed causes health problems then in this scenario they would not have those, if the cat is high energy or high need in this scenario you’re able to meet all their needs, also the cat is 100% from either an ethical breeder, a rescue, or a shelter cat that just somehow has papers, and they cost as much as adopting a regular shelter cat would, etc.

Personally, I really love Abyssinians. We had one when I was young (papers and all) but sadly he was an escape artist who caused havoc everywhere he went and one day got loose outside during a heatwave and sadly passed away.

I still am very fond of the breed.

Otherwise I think Turkish Angoras or any other floofy cats are great. I have a floofy girl but she’s a common DLH. That being said she rivals the Abyssinian in trouble making.

Hello all,

She has the bengal spotted belly (shaved a couple of months ago for her spaying). I can’t tell if she’s part bengal or if she’s just an exotic looking domestic tabby girl. What are your thoughts? She’s 2 and was found in an apartment complex pregnant is all I know about her
