The name Hockey Night in Canada is reserved by the CBC, so as I went through the Canucks schedule and looked at all the Saturday night games, it got me wondering what they are going to call Hockey Night in Canada moving forward. What are some name suggestions you have?

Let's be honest here, some people are going to tear him apart for being the son of the coach, an undeserving 3rd round pick, or just not meeting expectations immediately. I think it'll be a tremendous amount of pressure he'll be under.

So thats why I think EP40, out of everyone, will be able to talk to Caleb about what that's like. He might not give the best advice, or maybe he will great advice, i dont know him or his advice giving capabilities. But he will be an understanding ear who's been through the ups and downs of the fans' attention. And I hope Caleb can better navigate his path with that help.

Ryan Papaioannou's resume includes 17 years of head coaching experience, 8 AJHL championships (they did not win a single championship before he arrived as their coach) and a combined 801-176 record (77% win percentage). You got industry experts singing his praises and you got his ex-players saying they wanna get traded to Abby to play under Papaioannou.

Foote's resume on the other hand had 1.5 years of head coaching experience (fired mid way through his 2nd season) and 2.5 years of being an assistant coach in the NHL, 0 championships, a combined 57-60 record (48% win percentage) and was only hired because Quinn liked him.

Yes Aqua cheaped out on the perceived top candidate, but Papaioannou is more than qualified to be developing our young guys in Abby.

I have absolutely bettman insider information, but I'm planting my flag now: Landon Dupont will be a Vancouver Canuck.

If we're going to have a rough season, I'd rather bottom out than finish in the middle. I can genuinely see us ending up in position to draft Dupont, and I think he'd be the perfect cornerstone for the next era of this franchise.

Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks announced today that the team will host its 2026 Training Camp in Penticton, BC from September 17-20. This will be the third consecutive year that the Canucks will begin their season at the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC). A complete schedule, including ice times, will be announced at a later date.  

“Returning to Penticton this year makes perfect sense for our organization,” said Henrik Sedin, Co-President, Hockey Operations, Vancouver Canucks. “The South Okanagan Events Centre has everything we need for camp both on and off the ice. Besides being a first-class facility, the venue is also a great spot for our fans to experience our skates and fan fest. We look forward to kicking off our season in the interior this September and connecting with the thousands of fans who will make the trip to watch our training camp at the SOEC. Our organization really appreciates the provincial wide support we receive at this camp and throughout the regular season.”

On-ice sessions will be available to the public and will include free activations for fans of all ages at the South Okanagan Events Centre. 

Since 1974, the Canucks have held Training Camp in numerous communities across British Columbia, including Abbotsford, Courtenay, Duncan, Kamloops, Parksville, Powell River, Prince George, Vernon, Victoria, and Whistler. The team has also held Training Camp overseas once, travelling to Stockholm, Sweden in 2000.

I was walking through an East Van alley and stumbled upon a pile of free sports memorabilia. Including this hockey stick with the signatures of the entire 2005-2006 Canucks roster. I can make out Henrik and Daniel’s signature as well as Nasuland’s, Morrison’s and Anson Carter’s.

I was wondering if anyone has any info on this? Does it look legit?

So with the departure of 650, is it possible to have like a partially publicly funded sports radio here.

I have no idea how radio stations work or cost, but would it be possible to have a sports station in town that maybe has a bit of ad revenue, but also does a bit of public donations?

I would throw a few bucks at a regular vancouver radio station every now and then if it meant I didn have to rely on Toronto based companies.

Is that a viable idea?

The Canucks have normally announced it by now?
