I made wax melt bouquets as centerpieces for my cousins wedding shower this past weekend. They not only served as table decor but provided nice fragrance in the space even when not burning. And at the end, guests could take home the mini candles and a vase of “flowers” or two as an additional party favor, and they were a hit! 😄

Last year I made a stacking Christmas tree candle, an ornament candle, and a gingerbread house candle. The gingerbread house candle was very time consuming and didn’t sell well, so it won’t be coming back. The ornament sold slowly so I’m ditching that, too. The trees were the clear winner! I don’t think I’m even attempting another holiday mold this year. I want to see/hear what you have planned! Any fun new scents you’re thinking of trying? I recently got a sample size of Midwest Fragrance’s Heart & Home fragrance oil and it’s delicious and I can’t wait to make a great blend with it!

Hi everyone. I have been searching for a authentic tea scented fragrance oil, that doesn't have a bunch of other floral, leather or musky notes blended in. Just a plain ol' tea scent.

Does anyone have any recommendations because I can't find one anywhere! Thanks so much!

Hey, 200g candle is burned in like 20 hours or less.
70% C3 soya 30% Ecococo, ECO 6 wick.

Should I add any additives that slow down burning?
Any thoughts?

Hello! I am really new to candle making and I have a question. How could I achieve this kind of rustic look?

Hey all!
I am testing some waxes/ blends for container candles as I am in the beginning of my candle business. Burning is fine so far and I believe that wicking is also good.
Now, I am wondering what is the standard about cold and hot throw.

So, I have two questions and I would appreciate your help to understand:

**1.    Cold throw** — from what distance should an unlit candle be noticeable to be considered “good”? Is 6-8 inches (15-20cm) the baseline, or should a well-made candle throw further than that even unlit?  
**2.    Hot throw** — for a candle this size (200g) in a room 50m2 (550 sq feet) what’s a realistic expectation after a full melt pool (2-3 hrs burn)? Should it fill the whole 550 sqft, or is filling a smaller zone (say 200 sqft) around the candle still considered solid performance?

Would love to hear from people who test rigorously — trying to calibrate my own nose against what’s actually achievable vs. just what I’m used to.
Any suggestions for waxes or blends to try, would also be valuable!!

I got SO MUCH anxiety watching this….

Everywhere on the internet it says that wick mushrooming is caused by too large wick mostly, but i am testing rn two wick sizes (eco 14 and 16 in 100% soy wax dyed with 4% FO, 30cl containers approx 7,5cm diameter) and it seems that bigger wick is not mushrooming so far, 1hr burn, i don't trim wicks first burn.

I'm recovering from some really traumatic events and my therapist recommended manual creative hobbies. I love candles, they relax me and are a part of my daily routine. I've been wanting to make my own candles for a long time, so I thought maybe this can be a nice thing I can learn and do for myself.

I found an overwhelming amount of free videos and paid courses for beginners, but it's hard to be sure which is really worth it because I've no idea where to start. If you know some (free or not overly expensive) comprehensive guide for absolute beginners, I'd really appreciate the recommendation!

Hey everyone, I am having trouble finding the right wick for Makesy virgin coconut soy wax. I have tried cd, cdn, eco, premier, Makesy wood wicks .03/.625"/5" and .03/.5"/5" as suggested on their website.I am getting a lot of tunneling and burning too hot with a high flame. I also realizing I do not have the best eye for centering so I am going to look into some centering tools. [AnySuggestions] I have also experienced wet spots so I'm going to change my temperature once again. Any suggestions on wicks etc? I'm unsing candle containers between a 3.125 - 3" diameter.

i’m new to candle making & would love to get some tips! i made my first candle and it cured like this so i was wondering why & what i can do to improve! i used the makesy soy flaked candle wax, fragrance buddy watermelon lemonade oil & makesy pink candle dye!

i made this about a week ago. looking for advice, tips & tricks please!! i’m also open to suggestions on products to use :)

Long story short: some candle wax I bought from somebody on Facebook marketplace (first mistake) smells like cigarette smoke. The bag was still sealed and I was hopeful that even though the bag reeked that the wax would be fine. I was wrong. Has anybody dealt with using soy wax that they got second hand that smells like cigarettes? I’m thinking of doing a test candle to see if the smell will evaporate when it’s heated. I don’t want to toss it because it’s a 10 pound bag and I’d like to save it. Will the smell burn off or is it not able to be saved?

We pour a soy blend in tins and ship from Michigan, and this is our first summer shipping steadily outside the Midwest. Trying to decide between insulated liners, holding shipments during heat spikes, or just warning customers at checkout and replacing the occasional casualty.

If you ship through hot months - what has actually worked for you? Do liners or cold packs meaningfully help, or is it mostly about minimizing transit time? Any carrier lessons learned the hard way?

I’m interested in the test matrix rather than general business inventory: vessel, diameter, wax, fragrance/load, dye, wick, cure time, burn intervals, melt pool, soot/mushrooming, hot throw, photos, and pass/fail.

I’m Humi, a developer researching a possible next small tool. There’s no product or link here, and I’m not offering safety guidance.

What do you record for each test? When you change one variable, can you compare it with earlier tests easily? Where do photos live? What makes a spreadsheet or existing candle app annoying enough that records stop being updated?

If a dedicated burn-test tool would add more work than it saves, I’d like to hear exactly why.
