Like for real, if Rick weren't so fixated on staying in Percy's teenage era, we could have a spin-off set in a completely different time period, with one of Annie's ancestors linked to another mythology. Celtic, maybe—that would be cool.

Annabeth: Absolute wonderful character arc, is basically percy’s other half in the world. smart, good fighter, wonderful character
Nico: Everyone’s favorite emo boy, amazing powers, amazing character arc
Leo Valdez: My favorite character from the stories. Is (in my opinion) the main character of HOO, makes the whole series work. without Leo the seventh wheel they would have failed. literally died for them

Frank:Underrated Member of the 7. He is very powerful, and he almost had the same fate as jason. Put his life on the line for apollo. Fantastic Character
Sally Jackson: Everybody’s favorite mom. 10/10, pushing legend teir
Chiron:The mentor of great heroes for thousands of years. I really love how Rick uses his character. wonderful writing, really.
Piper:Probably my least favorite of the 7, just because of what she did to Jason. I don’t really blame her though, more blame to Hera, but still she was not great to him. Otherwise I think she is a fantastic character and deserves that teir
Rachel:Great, Great, Great Chatacter. underrated as hell

Hazel:Her Character Arc, with sammy and leo, and with frank, and with Hecate as well… amazing work.

Done Dirty:
Charles Beckendorf: Potential to be one of the best characters but killed off on that cruise. Gave his life for Percy.
Reyna: I think she should have been with Jason all along. I thought Piper was a good match but once I learned that she never liked boys that was just like “come on why isn’t he with reyna.” then she becomes a hunter? wierd choices but a great character still.
Bianca: killed off way too early. but without that we wouldn’t have the nico we have today.
Jason Grace: My second favorite character behind Leo. You all know how dirty he was done. He deserved better.
Zoe Nightshade: Shouldn’t have died.
Selina: Done dirty with that Kronos arc.

Now, please keep in mind that we all can have different opinions. If you like Solangelo (which many of you probably do), good for you. My point is that imagine if Will was a girl. This ship would be how a not developed female character is just a romantic interest to the much more developed, much more interesting and much more important male character. Imagine the HATE, Rick would get for that. People would either not care about this ship, or despise it. But than again, that’s just my opinion. please, tell me what you think

The Lotus hotel was of course massive but I feel like it was slightly wasted. You easily could've hid hints about people from different eras being there. You could've also went into detail about a boy trying to get a Hades Mythomagic figurine and just keep failing. Thus setting up Nico in the 3rd book and foreshadowing him being the son of Hades. It would've also set up why Bianca grabbed it the figurine in the desert, Nico really wanted it.

But I could be just stupid, I am willing to accept your all's opinion.

Percy is literally shonen protagonist. A young boy given great power and on a journey to be the best and grow stronger.

Like look at what studios like MAPPA are doing with Jujutsu Kaisen or Nickelodeon/Avatar Studios with the atla and the new avatar movie. The animation of the elements, the fight choreography, the art style. You can't tell me the riordanverse wasn't born for this.

And given all the magical stuff, I figured it'd be way cheaper than working with vfx, allowing scenes to be just as spectacular without cutting stuff due to budgeting.

We already got 2 movies, a musical and (almost) 3 seasons of a TV show. Rick has already gotten a lot of chances to put his work out there. I'm glad we got something, but in another life I wish things would've gone differently.

And you know, everything else is dead in the water. Except the Kane Chronicles apparently, but I haven't heard anything about that adaption in a minute.

so with rick wrapping up the senior year books for percy's college recommendation letters, i was thinking about the future of the series.

he always says "never say never" when people ask if hes ever gonna write percy again, but hes also said before that he likes writing middle grade stuff and probably wont follow percy/annabeth into full adulthood.

honestly do you guys think hes actually gonna leave percy alone after this, or will he keep coming back every couple years?

imo it could go a few ways:

1. hes actually done and percy finally gets a peaceful ending at new rome uni
2. percy is way too iconic and rick will drop random novellas or short stories whenever he feels like it
3. he just becomes a cameo character / mentor figure for new demigods

idk part of me feels like Percy deserves to rest at this point lmao. do you guys want rick to keep writing him into his 20s or should he just let the story end here?

will was barely even a character before the nico books. he was only there for a lil bit in the start of the lost hero, towards the middle and end of blood of olympus, then he showed up a couple times throughout trials of apollo. he wasnt some heavily established character people act like he was

like people made up a fanon personality of a character who only showed up a couple times then blamed rick for developing HIS character

there's a difference between saying "i don't like the direction rick took while writing will" and "rick ruined will because he changed his personality and actually made him complex instead of making him a ball of sunshine who never gets upset."

you’re allowed to dislike the way a character was developed. but the second one acts like there was this deeply established canon version of will that rick completely abandoned, when there really wasn’t.

a lot of the “classic will solace” personality people talk about is honestly just fandom interpretation and headcanon that became so widespread that people started treating it like canon.

you can prefer fanon will over canon will, that’s completely fine. but saying rick “ruined” his character implies that he destroyed years of established characterization when he was literally just developing a character who had barely been explored before the nico books

Reading back the entire series, considering the stakes, you would think Chiron would either make Ancient Classics a mandatory class or would make a campfire-sit-down-and-listen session every week.

The halfblood seems sometimes ignorant about the various myth even though it is literally life of death for them.

Sincerely I always wanted to know other peoples opinion on which god it would be the best to have as their parent taking into account only the powers because sincerely some gods just have amazing repertoire of powers that could be given and even if the kid isn't blessed with a lot of power some of them can be really versatile so taking into account both if your genes were blessed or if you just got wrecked by the genetic lottery what would be the best parent that gives the best powers/ set of powers?

She's pretty different from the PJO depiction, and the classic depiction of her in the Odyssey. Was rewatching the series recently and wondered what everyone else thought. I think she's great.
