Don’t know what to do.

I, 20M, have a paid off 2017 RS 3.6L that I’ve been planning on parting ways with. As much as I hate to admit and say it, peoples opinions on the V6 of the car affected my love for it.

Regardless of how truly fun and fast this car truly is, it’s still effecting my general outlook of the vehicle, even with the platform I have, which is 6th generation and is seen as a beast.

And, that’s exactly why I got THIS car, my love for Camaros while keeping my insurance under 400 every month. Exactly what I wanted and needed.

When I first bought the car, I paid in full upfront, no cosign. Something that to this day I’m proud of myself about. But, to everyone in my life, it seems they all have this thing about telling me what THEY would’ve bought with THEIR money. And, most of the time, it’s a v8.

I started saving money and quoting my car to dealerships, see what they offer, i was getting 17,500. With that knowledge, I started instantly saving up a couple grand so that I could start attempting to buy a 2010-2015 Camaro SS, to which I started putting money aside for.

However, last Sunday, my car got smashed into. Minor-ish, but the Audi A5 that did it crashed right into my wheel and now the steerings all messed up as-well. I realize this event regardless of it being my fault does affect the value of the vehicle.

So, genuinely asking for help, what should I do???
Take a major loss and sell it for the 5th generation anyway, or keep it and use the money I’ve been saving to buy an older generation camaro and keep my newer v6. What could I do here with my situation?

Thoughts on this post? Seems to line up with the rumors currently going around quite well.

Farewell for now

Well boys, it’s officially time to say goodbye to my beautiful 2023 Camaro RS V6. This car has meant more to me than I can put into words. It’s the car that taught me how to drive a manual, and every mile behind the wheel was an experience. The V6 is an absolute blast. It’s smooth, responsive, and far more fun than it often gets credit for. However, I know I’ve always wanted a V8 and I started looking at used V8 Camaros, but an opportunity came along that I couldn’t pass up. I ended up getting a decent deal on a brand new S650 Mustang GT.

I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of this community. No matter the engine under the hood, the Camaro is one of the most beautiful cars ever built. It’s one of the few vehicles that still makes me stop and look every time I see one. I truly hope Chevy brings the Camaro back one day. This isn’t goodbye my friends, it’s simply farewell for now. Hopefully, one day I’ll find myself back behind the wheel of a roaring V8 Camaro. Until then, thank you all for the memories. Long live the Camaro

Should I Buy? Convince me: SS 1LE or ZL1LE

Context: I owned a 2016 SS 6MT when it was new and loved it. Used to live in CA and tracked it a bunch. Life changed and I got rid of it but have been passively searching for an SS 1LE ever since. I always wanted a bit more brake/tire and the eLSD would be a nice upgrade.

Now, I have a new dilemma: This is a 4th car and can be kind of impractical. I do want to drive it on the street fairly regularly, but I WFH so it’s not like I do a ton of driving anyhow. I’m curious to hear personal takes on living with the SS 1LE vs the ZL1 1LE—including track usage/wearables. I feel like the SS is a really good balance all around, but is it time for something nutty w/ 650hp? Or not worth the $20k+ premium?

Hey everyone,

I’ve always been curious how much it would cost to get this panel gap fixed, has anyone paid for something similar?

Thank you in advance!

2010 Camaro RS mechanical issues (might sell)

Hi All, I’m the original owner of this Camaro RS cyber grey metallic with inferno orange interior with 20” rims. She’s been running great u til recently, regularly serviced, normal brake/tire replacement, fluids changed. This June started experiencing mechanical issues to the point where I’m leaning to unload the car. Just had trans flushed by dealer at 109,400. This is the 3rd time dealer flushed over cars life. Now shift intermittently slips (gets briefly stuck in neutral 1-2 secs) going into 1st gear/reverse.

Also CEL showing engine position and crank shaft position codes. Timing chain is original. A/C compressor went out couple years ago. I lived without it since the labor to fix is enormous.
Given age and mileage it looks like repair costs are in excess of the cars value.
Any thoughts much appreciated!

V6 3.6L Camaro, 106k miles. I’ve just recently done my 100 thousand mile upkeep, replaced the condenser, muffler delete kit, and the windshield from the hail (Texas weather lol) Other than that she runs great, a/c cold enough to freeze your nuts off

Bought my Camaro years ago when i could barely afford it and i’m just now getting to the point where i can consider upgrading. I know i know everyone and their mother’s cat recommends just getting a v8. Problem is- i own this Camaro outright and don’t really want to bother with the hassle of buying a used one that i have to make payments on for another 5 years. Inheriting a used vehicle means i also inherit those problems and after i do not wish to go through all the repairs i have done for this one, again.

So my question remains: what all can i do short of buying a v8 to increase overall HP? Not really a gear head so i don’t know a lot of mechanical who-ha but i’ve been told turbos might be a good idea as well as a pro-charger. No clue which direction would be best, i just want to be able to get from 0-60 faster than i am (about 5 and a half seconds). Any recommendations or links to parts would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you very much
