I posted in fieldnuts too asking what they use there notebooks for but didn’t get any responses yet.

Recently I felt like I have less and less to sit down and plan out my budget using the budget mom workbook. So, what I started doing is print out these cards that calculate my paycheck plans for me and glue them into my workbook.

Inspiration I need advice with my diaries

I bought like 10 A5 diaries/notebooks because they were very cheap and they were super cute glittery, but I'm afraid I'll write stupid things in them and ruin them hahaha so I don't know what to do with them, how do people use diaries? What do you write in them? I need ideas thanks

Question Has journaling ever helped you notice a pattern about yourself that you probably wouldn’t have noticed otherwise?

Not just feeling better after writing, but realizing something like “I keep getting stuck at the same point” or “I’ve been coming back to this idea for months.”

If that’s happened to you, did you actually do anything differently after noticing it?

Question Mondo Llama paint markers on black paper?

I was looking for cheaper markers I could use on black pages and found these at Target. Do these show up well on black paper, or would I be better off using something more pricey like Posca markers?

Question QUESTION: Collections from the Bullet Journal method

Hey BuJo People,

I've been reading the bullet journal method and have been trying to get my Bullet journal started. I have very little history of Journaling but want to make more of an intential effort towards it as I'll be a dad soon and I want remember more of this crazy new season my wife and I will be entering.

My question relates to the book. I'm into the latter half of the book and each chapter comes with a new collection recommendation. My question is to those that have read the book how many of these Collections did you implement to your person BuJo? I'm currently finding the shear amount overwhelming and a little paralyzing. We there specific collections that you found most helpful or that resonated well?

I could use some imput in this situation. Thank you all.

Minimalist Spiral or hardbound: what do you actually use every day and why?

I have been using planners for 16 years and I still go back and forth on this every single time.

Spiral because it lays completely flat and I can fold it back on itself when I am working at a desk or writing on the go. But the rings catch on things, the coil gets bent, and after a few months it starts looking rough.

Hardbound because it looks and feels premium, holds its shape, travels better, and still looks good in December. But it never fully lays flat and I find myself pressing down on the page every time I write on the left side.

I know what I prefer personally, but I am genuinely curious what you guys actually use for day to day.

Also curious whether size matters in what you use?
Do you go A5 because it fits in your bag, or B5 because you need the writing space?

Question Gardeners - what notebook do you use?

I already wrote this whole thing out, but I went to another webpage for too long and Reddit refreshed my screen, and all of my words were lost. (If anyone knows how to make that stop happening besides not leaving this site for too long, I would appreciate it.) This time I’ll try to make my post more succinct.

What I want to include:

  1. a monthly calendar page for the whole year, to note when to do certain things
  2. a year line graph showing when to sow/transplant/harvest different plants
  3. Profile pages for each plant.
  4. Weekly spreads to note what I did on each day

What I used before:
- a discbound (Happy Planner) notebook that is basically a TN size that only has monthly & weekly pages. It worked pretty well for tracking by dates, but didn’t have a lot of room for notes (in the daily sections of the weekly spreads.)

What I would like:
- hard cover
- dot grid
- 160 gsm
- maybe A6 or TN size
- some sort of gardening, floral, or nature aesthetic
- on sale 😉

So gardeners, what do you use to track? Any tips? Suggestions?

Edited for clarification of the TN size I used before.

Question tiefossi & fountain pens

question for the bujo masses! trying to decide what journal i want for next year after having cycled through leuchtterm and dingbats for the last few years. now i'm looking at scribbles that matter, a&o or tiefossi but i'm not sure how these journals interact with fountain pens, especially the tiefossi?

mainly worried about feathering and bleedthrough, though i figure 160gsm should keep you safe from bleeding. but the feathering ... 🥲

Why all the hate on Moleskin:(

I have read a good amount of posts on how the 1917 is better overall in quality, usually due to the no bleed through on fountain pens etc. I own both and I still prefer the Moleskin. I don't use fountain pens. At work, I usually find whatever pen or pencil I find and jot down things quickly and messy, so any notebook would get the job done.

The thing is, I like that Moleskin paper is thinner, it feels that the thickness of the notebook isn't wasted by thick paper, and I like how easily busted up the pages turn out. It makes it feel used, like a piece of scratch paper a mad scientist would use or something. Thoughts??
