I'm a final-year B.Tech CSE student and I'm looking for a minor project idea that I can later extend into my major project.

I don't want to build the usual projects like a Library Management System or Student Management System. I'm looking for something unique, practical, and industry-relevant that can help strengthen my resume and improve my chances during placements.

I'm interested in areas like AI/ML, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Web Development, Cloud, or anything that's currently in demand.

If you were in my position, what project would you choose in 2026 that has real-world value and can be expanded into a full-fledged major project?

It would be great if you could also explain:

Why you recommend it

The tech stack

How it can be expanded for a major project

Whether recruiters would find it impressive

I have backlog in 1 paper and my btech councler said no prblm jut try to clear it and you can join collage we stop your documents verification and you cand give exam of btech and also when you clear the diploma you give us the degree.. then it's give me prblm in my jobe or not pls tell me if anyone have experience that type of

So let me explain my situation i am cse(iot) student currently taking admission on btech collage year2026 first year, my collage is one of worst kind ,it has recently opend like in 2018 and is situated in small town of bihar, the availability from my home town to my collage sucks , i really don't like this collage but my jee rank is 437000 which is worst that my collage so i am thinking about starting preparation of gate cse but i have little to non information about what to do and where to start my preperarion or which online batch should i buy. ( i was looking for gate cse preparation so i went to physics wallah batch and few minutes later pw counceler called me saking if i was looking for guidance regarding gate, so i tried to get information about cse gate but honestly i felt like he just wanted to make me buy pw gate batch , so i came to reddit) so i wanted a reality check about cse gate preparation if it is possilbe for me or not , and can anybody please tell me the toughness level of cse gate and guide me throught the whole. In my mind there is currently one thought which is making me sick i am very uncomfortable with this descision but i am still going throught with it and that is , just take admission in this collage and prepare for gate from firdt year , only study and taking classes and developing skills and preparing for gate cs , my collage is far below in terms of worst , i had pictured and great campus life when i was preparibg for jee but here i am now. I won't say i am a brellient student and good at studying but preparing for gate is the only option i can see, my collage is very isolated from city area , i have to tucke in my collage and its hostle for 4 years till i graduate and pass in gate so i can go for higher studies and and take admission in better collage in mtech.

My regret is that i am about to take admission in my collage and am already thinking it as a jail and start thinking mtech as my way out, btw my collage is gce vaisali near patna in bihar, is my way of thinking wrong and please do guide in about cse gate , i am cse (IOT) student and my collage placemnts is none and am in this collage for btech degree because i have no othe choice

Hi everyone,

I am currently balancing a dual degree (BTech CSE + IITM BS in Data Science). Due to my heavy core coursework this semester, I am looking for 2 NPTEL courses (3 or 4 credits each) that have a manageable workload.

1. Our college forces us to do NPTEL; now I have done 3 courses so far. I want to do 2 courses this semester. I want courses that are easy to score because:
2. I want to get 3-4 credits per course
3. I want to get the money back, so 60% can be easily scored without extra effort.
4. I am already doing 2 degrees; I have many things on my plate, so I don't want to struggle with another pressure. I just want the final exam to be easy, assignment based or PYQ-based. Like, last time Java questions came totally from PYQs and assignments, so I scored 93%.

Please suggest some courses from your expertise. Thanks

qualifications : 12th done in 2025, took 1 year drop for JEE.

Now I got two colleges options.

NIT Raipur metallurgy and IIIT naya Raipur.

In terms subject interest, for me it's ECE > Meta.

BUT...

CONS of IIIT naya Raipur:

0 placements for btech ECE (no ece companies visited)

total on campus placement was 48 out of 179 students ( for cse and dsai)

most ece grads go for mtech there. But if i later don't want to do mtech I'll be jobless (probably).

2015 institute, alumini network weak.

it's NOT a standard iiit , it's state funded.

This iiit tag will NOT help in off campus placement (non core) , makes it Difficult to land on a job after graduation.

6) will Cost me approx 14Lakh for college (including everything)

So my only option will be to do GATE, and if that's the end goal, I can prepare for it from studying in any tier 3 College with half the Fees.

In NIT RAIPUR Metallurgy.

Subject may not be my interest BUT.

Off campus placements will be easier.

more free time to up skill non core

More companies visit, more chance.

Strong alumini Network, useful for Off campus placement.

NIT tag, better peer group.

Safety net of a core job with avg 9-10 lpa in psu with less competition in GATE.

Anyone who is reading this i really need your guidance. I prepared for JEE for 3 years with the dream of getting into an IIT/NIT. Last year I scored 96.59 percentile but took a drop for IIT. This year I got 92.31 percentile, and now I'm confused about my future.

My family wants me to do B.Sc. along with government exam preparation, but I want to pursue B.Tech in CSE from a college I can get through my JEE score. At the same time, I'm scared because of AI and the layoffs happening in tech companies.

I'm confused between these options:

• B.Sc. + Government exam preparation

• B.Tech in CSE

• One more drop for NIT

I also lost both of my parents 8 years ago, so I don't really have anyone to guide me. That's why I'm asking for your honest advice.

One last question: Does age matter in campus placements? I'm 20 years old, and I'm worried whether my age or drop years will affect my opportunities.

Please guide me. It would mean a lot.

Hey everyone I'm a BTech student of batch 2022-26 and I'm not graduated yet! cuz I have 5 active backlogs what should I do now? The backlogs were about 16 and i brought them to 5 in 8th semester and still waiting for another 3 subjects results if it goes in my way I'd be having 2 backlogs but not pretty sure about that and I also started working on my skills now I have a gap of 2~3 months for appearing for my next supplementary exams, I wanna do something like doing some jobs non-technical or anything until I clear my supplies like you guys got any leads or suggestions would be appreciated :-)even people who have gone through similar situations like mine please do share your experiences and how did you guys came out of this situations
