Happy "Ozzy Day" Brum!
Fantastic to see to many goths, metalheads, rockers etc. In the city centre today, back to the 90s!
Sad that the museum didn't add much to their exhibit but happy to have met so, so many people that have travelled 100s or 1000s of miles to visit our Brum.
Hopefully the council can see and feel the impact of tourism and double down on our metal roots.
The Birmingham Orchestra will be travelling around today to various locations playing Sabbath tunes so keep posted as they're really good.
Shoutout to Polywood for Ozzy the bulls massive ozzy specs x

Advice for what to do with young kittens, no mom!!
Hello I hope everyone who reads this is well. Apologies for any typos and for the weird format, I’m on mobile.
My nextdoor neighbours received 2 kittens today I think they’re both aprox 5 weeks, one of their kids said their friend dropped them off with him?? Not knowing what to do with them, they’ve handed them over to me and i’m appalled they haven’t been fed all day and they’re much too young to be away from their mom. I bought kitten food ASAP and they’re fed and good for now, (but they won’t stop trying to eat the litter!)
i really need to know what the appropriate line of action is after this? Are there any rescue centres in Brum that i should call up? I’ve looked some up but i’m just asking here too in case anyone has suggestions
I can look after them for a few days but unfortunately i can’t keep them, it’s just not an option for me right now 😓

Metro
Hello, I’ve been lucky enough to work in Birmingham for the last three weeks. My commute involves using the metro from snow hill to bilston each day - I’m curious because as an outsider this seems a decent system with new trams. But in the three weeks I’ve done it, at least once a week there has been a major failure causing the system to stop and passengers asked to disembark and wait on trains platforms until issues are resolved. This seems to mainly be due to trams breaking down or developing faults. Is this a known problem with the trams and is it being rectified? It feels like a ridiculous level of issues for what is a modern system.
Visitor Parking Permits
Does anyone know if it's possible to buy one-day visitor parking permits from the council for the Jewellery Quarter? You active them on the days you want. It appears to have existed once, but I can't find anything about it on the council's BRUM website.
News I built a map of every police-reported injury road collision in Great Britain (2000–2024). This link opens it centred on Birmingham. You can look for blackspots and see details of individual collisions

Can I get some advice on moving for work or not?
I live in Birmingham. I have an option to work for a dessert Shop in wolverhampton. The issue is that they might want late night staff so travel might be hard. I also have a great room, an ensuite for £500 with all bills, a big room, laundry, kitchen backyard and everything in Birmingham. It's a really nice house and finding something like this in Birmingham is a massive steal.
So I'm just confused if i should go for the role in wolves or not, I've never been to the city so I have no idea what it's like, I like being in Birmingham too so I'm confused. The job is something I have got after 7 months of job search. Should I just move to wolves? Is it a nice place?
I like a breathable city , with things to do there. And I've been scrolling over spare rooms and not finding anything nice, I'm so emotionally connected to my room now.It sounds stupid ik but the job, is just a job, nothing too crazy. But literally the only lifeline I've got after so long. What do I do any advice?

Meta Littering
I've just walked through Small Heath Park for the first time in ages.
I don't think I've ever seen littering that bad in a public park probably ever.
Granted, there were barely any bins to be seen, but still.
Question Digbeth club venues
Hi,
Current DJ and club promoter in Digbeth ATM having issues with trying to scale up
Our night runs in single capacity venue with limit of 200. We're looking for various reasons at moving venues to somewhere with capacity of 500 and at least 2 rooms
Lot of the places in Digbeth reached out to have either not responded, have issues with meeting to discuss things or there would be clashes with regular run nights
We find Digbeth perfect as we run alternative nights and Digbeth has the right vibe for it. So looking for recommendations of where to reach out to around there.
Edit: I should highlight where I have reached out to. Mainly to not have repeats but don't want to name and blame anyone as I know people are busy to respond to messages Secret space The drop inn Mama roux The printmakers Rainbow Sophy's
May have been more but this is off top of my head. Ideally got an interesting response from the printmakers and they're a good fit for what we do, but been ghosted in responding to messages. But as said could be due to various reasons.
Trying to sort this as while we do have our current venue which is doing well, it's about looking at the future of the club
Also thanks to venues who reached out after this initial post, will be looking to chat and visit for further discussion soon 🖤🖤

What's with all the seagulls?
I'm in Moseley and they have been incessant for the last few hours - so many of them and so much noise.
Why does landlocked Birmingham have so many seagulls?
Concept for new Birmingham county
For context Im from Wolverhampton and wouldn't want to be called a brummie ( No offense love you lot) but the name west midlands stinks of poo we can all admit it. Its just not catchy I think our problem is coventry. They dont belong with Birmingham wolves dudley etc and + if we want to actually be the second city we gotta unite properly to beat greater manchester so im proposing 3 things
We rename to Birmingham and the Black Country ( no ones left out)
We give Cov back to Warwickshire they don't belong with us. Imo they more similar to Leicester over there than to Brum
We add those little towns that surround the area with no identity like kiddy, Redditch, Tamworth, Cannock, Bromsgrove and Lichfield
(ngl kidderminster, lichfield, tamworth and redditch are a stretch though

Has anyone seen a lunch bag
Bit of an ask but accidentally left my lunch bag this morning in a lime basket on station street at around 7:55am wondering if anyone may have seen it or handed it in this morning. Ordered replacement via Amazon but would be good to see if still retrievable.

Inspiration needed ! If you were making some Birmingham themed candles what scents would you suggest?
Looking for fun ideas that would also be realistic scents that others would enjoy, but more comical ones welcome.
First one that came to mind that I plan on making is Ozzy inspired both the legend of music and the bull art piece.

Question Kings Norton Tip
Why the bloody hell is booking Kings Norton tip like trying to get into some kind of highly exclusive club these days?
It’s been 16 months of this nonsense now and I’m fed up of it. Do I really have to set my alarm at midnight to fill in all my details only to then find out it’s got no slots available…
I know you’ve heard it all before…I pay my council tax blah blah…but whose genius idea was it to develop the site in the middle of a strike? Driving to Tysley is like a one way trip to hell…the roads are dogs*it.
