I got into this just last month and I have done 2 so far. This is incredibly addictive. Someone needs to stop me from going broke 😭
The first one I did is a Spilay Library of Books and then I did Sylvia's garden.
So much fun and why didn't I discover this sooner.

Sylvia's garden was definitely more difficult and took me much longer and had me so frustrated at times. However the end result is better than the library.

The beginning is promising and we will see how it will be at the end 😊

This book nook has a surprisingly detailed story behind it. Two café owners live on opposite sides of a Venice canal and are said to be lovers who have never met. They communicate through music, colored lights, and coded reflections in the water. The gondola lantern also reveals two different moments in time, with one side showing 1953 and the other showing 2025.

The water was one of the most interesting parts of the build. It uses a clear textured piece over the canal, and the lighting makes it appear blue even though the lights themselves are not blue. The mirrors and layered scenery also make the canal look like it continues much farther into the distance.

The gondola was definitely the hardest part for me. It is heavier than it looks, and getting it into such a tight space took some patience. Once it was finally in place, though, it really completed the scene.

Overall, this was a really nice build. The bridge, flower boxes, glowing windows, and all the little architectural details make it feel full without being too crowded.

I am surprised by the size of this and very happy (6.7x10.5x5.79 in) The product name is Entropy's Flow and the Product Series is Microcosms. I can't wait for this to be done so I can shop for a black horse to go with it. I was almost thinking green horse because this is giving Emerald City Wizard (when he was still in Kansas) vibes but not sure. The axles turn and they have springs! My biggest challenge so far were the hooks. I somehow ran out of the gold wire and was too lazy to go through my jewelry findings to find More gold wire. So I used some solder instead, which is why some of the hooks are silver and the rest are gold. And isn't that yellow rocking chair just precious?! Can't wait to do more tonight when I get home from work!!

Does this set come with a dust sheet? I have the Venice set and it has a dust sheet which I think is a game changer.

If not then what book nook kits have a dust sheet?

I love horror movies and booknooks, so of course I couldn't resist 🤩🤩

My latest: Funpola's Magic Library. I wanted to do this for some time because of the Infinity mirror and wanted to see what I thought about it. (Spoiler: love it, tho it is best to have dark room behind you so as not to spoil the reflections.) But also its my first build to complete after taking to heart much of the suggestions and ideas in this community to customize. So I did a lot of edge painting, sometimes wood marker colors (like on top of the bannisters, but who's gonna see that???) and in some cases actual paint colors, like the black edging on the left. And I added the carpet runner up the stairs, and also a little miniature floor vase to the left of the entryway. Overall, modest customizations, but boy does it make the build process more rewarding and the result more satisfying.

Oh, and someone on this sub had mentioned when doing their own build that the process called for the mirror to be uncovered early on and a few pieces attached, and they got some glue/dust/smudges on the mirror after that. Armed with that tip, I uncovered the mirror to attach those pieces, then re-covered the mirror until the very end of the build. Kept it fairly well pristine. That's for the tip!

I used it on that bottom step and it was ugly as hell because you could see the glue bleed through visibly. When I pried it up… the paint didn’t come with it and left holes in the surface. After cleaning everything up I had to remove the rest of the paint from the bottom and figure out a solution.

I scraped off the rest of the paint using a combination of B700 as a solvent and fingernails/emry board. Grave the now clean surface a brown water pen based marker layer with a light paper towel rub to even the distribution. Painted the wood step white with several layers. And finally used Aleens glue as with a sponge brush application over the entire wood surface to affix the pvc.

I think it came out ok but was super pissed at myself for the trouble I caused me.

hi! i've never done this in my life but i'm working on creating a sort of mini museum for my 2 best friends with memories of us mixed with their favorite artworks

but i'm completely lost and overwhelmed and would love to know how to start while making sure it doesn't look too bad and doesn't break the bank...

I was so happy with the Lost in Atlantis build that I got the companion nook, and it is NOT my friend. The pieces don't stay together even if they seem to click in right, and one of the arches is in the way of the side wall so it can't be installed properly. (I've checked instructions, videos, and the fact that there are no other matching slots for those elements. It really won't close.)

This was such an unexpected fun build! I ordered this because I thought it looked cool, but didn't expect the quality to be so high. The pieces fit together well, didn't have any problems. The lighting/electronics package was top notch with two AA batteries. The instructions weren't in color, but were very well done and I had no issues following. I'll post another picture in the comments of the box and also of the very cool crystal ball that was installed in the top of the lantern. I didn't really do any mods except edge painting and added a feather for the ink pot. The touch control has off-music/lights/movement-music off, and there is a separate switch to turn off the battery pack. I found this on W+, but I'm sure it's available other places if you're interested.

So last month, I built Cutebee’s Tsutenkaku Ichiban Street and thought to myself “I think I could spend more time cleaning up my edges” so I started sanding the most egregious burrs and using furniture repair markers to blend in those spots. Not perfect but it did improve the look and didn’t take to long so I was happy.

Then, a week ago I finished Anavrin’s Seoul Hipjiro (which I love soooo much - one pic included) and thought to myself “Love this but these blue stools in the front would look nicer if they were all blue…”.

I’ve been hesitant to try edge painting for various reasons: I do actually sometimes like the “old school” wood look and I’m a bit of a control freak and I worried that I would get inside my own head and the process would end up becoming not fun. But after building Seoul Hipjiro, I decided it was time to give it a go so I pulled out a cheap ABC kit called Pool Party Book, my furniture markers and acrylic paint pens to give it a shot.

Now I’m hooked. I’ve ordered more colors of acrylic paint pens, more colors of furniture markers and yeah, I can see this being something I do from now on. It took so much longer, but the results were definitely worth it. There are a small bits that I left alone in the background (before I decided to do ALL the edges) and I missed the side edges of the front piece when I was finishing up late Saturday night (stayed up too late), but otherwise I think it turned out so good and the process ended up being very therapeutic. Guess from now on, I’ll be building one book nook a week rather than three; it’s better for my wallet anyway!

I just finished my first Anavrin build, Kowloon 2049.

The very last instruction shows to slide the dust cover down at the front, however there does not appear to be a gap to slide it into (see attached photo).

I have looked at the previous instructions and cannot see anywhere where it shows to leave a gap at the front, so can anyone tell me what I have done wrong? I am going to buy some more of their kits so if this is a common feature I want to make sure I don't make the same mistake again.

I'm so happy to show you all this one! (I'm not sure it's a booknook so the reason why I post it today)

I'm really proud of this one. I did again all the edge painting and I always love the end result since it seems more complete that way. I also venture a bit in customization, not a lot but it's a start. At the back of it, since it was empty, I put fake grass to give the look of overgrown grass on the wall, i was really proud of the result!! And I added 3 flowers (nothing big but again it's a start:p )

Apologies in advance for any grammatical or spelling errors I’m kinda in shock writing this.

Ok so for a bit of backstory I’m 21 living with my parents because, economy. I spend a lot of money and time on booknooks, building them looking them trying different ways to customize them, etc.. Now I know it might seem a bit excessive, however I didn’t think it would be that big of a problem.
My parents and Friends have staged an honest to god intervention saying that I have an addiction. Like I’m just kinda in shock I know they’ve commented and made fun of how many I have/want to buy but im kinda at a loss. I honestly don’t know what to do or how to explain to them that although, yes it’s expensive,and they do take up a lot of space, it’s something I enjoy and helps me relax. For refrance I spend about 1-3 grand on booknooks a year and generally like to have about 8 stashed up. And I generally build them whenever I don’t have anything pressing to do like I’m not pushing things of or making excuses just so I can build my nooks. But I keep up with expenses and yeah I don’t have a ton but I think I’m doing pretty well. I just don’t know I guess I’m looking for other peoples opinions am I being excessive or is everybody just overreacting.

TLDR: I’ve been given an intervention (they actually say me down my friend had a power point they are genuinely concerned) over the amount of money and time I spend on book nooks (1-3 grand a year, but I pay all my expenses on time and in full) I’m kinda just shocked and looking for advice on how to respond.

Their option was weird little plastic and wooden pieces stuck with tiny double-sided tape, so I think I made the right call, which is never the easier one. 🫠

As the title, I really struggle with the glue ones and it's not always obvious which is which on the advert.

Ok I give up and I’m asking for help!!

I purchased these LED lights and the reviews said they were bright etc… but they are actually NOT bright at all. Literally can’t even tell a light is on, it only looks fluorescent when on, if I use 2 it’ll make a bit of light but ughhh I can’t figure why and am beginning to wonder if they are just faulty.

I’ve tried them with AAA, AA brand new batteries and it doesn’t change anything.

In the picture, the yellow lights look a lot brighter than they actually are in real life (and I have TWO ) and the white bright light is the one that came with this kit and ideally the brightness I want, any help is appreciated!

Well, I’m a GoT fan obviously and I really wanted a nice themed nook. But I’m still a newbie so I couldn’t make one from scratch. I bought a castle nook kit and changed some details to make it like I wanted it to be. Some 3D printing, clay and paint and there it is.

So I’ve been following this eBay auction for an unopened Eternal Midnight Paris book nook. It’s been going on since last week and just closed. I understand it was a Limited Edition and is not in production currently but I’m still surprised!

The highest bid was at $180 and in the last 60 seconds it jumped to $300-$700-$800 and finally $1026!!! 😲😲 I guess it was a good investment for whoever bought it and didn’t build it lol …

Not going to lie I did bid lol but my highest bid was $111, I was super outbid hahaha.

After a bunch of sweat, tears and frustration, I finally finished and I am so proud. I accidentally threw away two pieces so technically it's unfinished but they weren't essential so I'm not too bummed about it. The instructions were very confusing at times and a step was in the wrong place on the page so I almost missed it, but I managed.

My cat passed away last month and I would like to do a book nook as a memorial for him. I can't do one from scratch because I'm just not that creative but does anyone know of a book nook I could try to customize that would work? I'm considering the cat cafe that someone posted last week but I'm open to suggestions. I'm just not sure where to start.
