Is the ability to not worry about getting pinned by anything smaller than a light ATgun worth the extra cost?

Hi, I recently brought the british airborne starter army, and I'm not sure how to build it into a roughly 1000 point force and would like some help. I've been trying to use easy army but I'm not sure what platoon type british airborne falls under. Again any help would be wonderful thanks!

Got from a guy from the club a double sided neopren battlemap for cheap. Wife at the barber shop so enough time for a game against… General Mouser!

My solo rules: kill points, Airborne starts on the map in defence position, FJ comes in at turn 1. Airborne can fire to closest/best scoring units like an attacking AR squad, ambush, rally, down (for both sides i forgot mostly going down). One time i advanced an US unit to bring it in better position. Tanks from reserve in turn 2. no outflanking, no snap.

Forces was all my FJ and US, except flame throwers, no lists just all on the board, 15 OD vet FJ against 18 OD regular Airborne, guess both sides near 1400 pts.

To my surprise it feels like a „real“ game, not a walk in the park for my FJ. StuG and 251/1 not survived turn 2, than the Sherman 75 goes anti-infantry. Ends in a draw 4vs4 order dice.

Added a 57mm A/T gun, a 75mm pack howitzer, sniper team, and some extra riflemen to my force

Well, I did a few test models, and good news historical fans! My wife thinks it would work better on something more fantastical.

So, going to be whipping out the German Field Grey and going traditional!

Hello im getting into bolt action coming from warhammer and im trying to build up my future list around this as a narrative panzer grenadiers list,Thoughts or am I building a mess that's going no where, appreciate the help and discussion

I own the Hanomag D version from Rubicon, I also already magnetized parts for easy removal. Is there any difference between these vehicles.

I'll happily preface this by saying that I'm yet to play a game, or even have a model yet! I'm very much interested in WW2, especially the tanks and figured I'd see if my list looks pretty alright or if I've made any mistakes?

Thematically going for norther Europe(nice, wet & Muddy lads), mechanized troop, I have zero idea if what I've picked is any good outside of it being a legal list.

Also, behold! Large howitzer! (7,2" On a long tom with an Albion tractor 👌) the lads will be dropping in Bedford MW 15CTWs. Building my first army and this is my first attempt at a T-34/85. Here’s my progress so far before weathering. I recently got to see a few Soviet vehicles in person including an 85 and tried to match the color as closely as possible. Thoughts on this color? It definitely came out a bit lighter than the picture, but from my understanding, the color of green paint on Soviet tanks varied quite substantially during the war, but I’d like to be as historically accurate (or plausible) as possible.

I have decided to try and create a Warsaw Uprising army, and this is the first painted model in the soon to be collection (I'll elaborate if it's requested). Although technically "Chwat" was destroyed by having a building brought down on it, it's a classic that I am super excited to run in games.

Just getting into Bolt Action and I've picked up the following to start my Soviet force:

• Soviet Winter Starter Army
• Soviet Weapons Team
• Soviet Veterans in Snowsuits

I'm trying to build a 1000-1250pt list out of these boxes and would love some advice from people. A few specific questions:

1. List building – Since i find the list building a little bit confusing is there any kind fellow who could provide me with a stater list and i will take it from there. For now i am overwhelmed with the weapons choices and i fear to build the models. So far i have only build and painted 10 infantry with rifles from the starter army. (Excluding the metal figures)
2. Next additions – what should I look at adding next to round the army out for 1000-1250pts and beyond? I've heard suggestions like:
   • A vehicle (tank, armored car, etc.) – if so, what's a good pick?
   • A Heavy Weapons Platoon ?
   • Some artillery?

Any "wish I'd known this starting out" tips would be hugely appreciated.

Hi! I'm actually going to play mostly K47 but there's a lot of rules overlap, and these seem to be the same for both games.

1) A Sniper team was behind a a friendly squad . His sniper team is on an oval base. He could see my model from the head of the shooter. First of all: from where do you trace he line of fire? The closest part of the base? The head of the firer? From anywhere you want along the base?

We measured it from the head of the firer.

If he'd shoot the right side of my model, he'd have to trace a line 1" within his own troop, if he shot the far left side he'd be outside 1". We figured he could choose which part to aim for and thus shoot at my model. Is this correct? Most games you cannot decide from where you want to aim like this.

2) Is the following sequence correct: I shoot a twin auto cannon (4 hits) at the rear armour of a tank with DV 8+. I have +2 pen initially, gaining +4 in total for the rear hits. I get three hits and roll 3D6 to see the damage. I get a 4, 5 and a 6. That's one superficial and two full damage hits. The rules (under massive damage) say that you apply them in decreased severity. Severity isn't defined in the rules to be fair, but RAI seems to be that you deal with "Knocked Out" roll first.

For the Superficial Damage I roll a 6: "On Fire", for the Full Damage I roll a 1 and a 2 for "Crew Stunned" and "Immobilised".

It seems ridiculous that I'd first apply the On Fire rules, giving 1 pin (+the initial pin from the hit), rollling a morale check on -2. And *then* apply the extra pin marker from the stunned, and the immobilised result.

It makes much more sense that you'd apply all the pins first, and then roll the morale check for "On Fire". How do people play this?

What terrain rules would you use here? The Bocage we treated as impassable for infantry, but as an obstacle for vehicles. Either way it blocked LoS. The field we treated as rough ground and soft cover if shooting into or through the field (or when shooting out of the field when more than 1" away from the edge). Might've been too strong? Not sure.
