If you could retheme Patchwork to be anything...
Of course you'd choose Lord of the Rings

Started having a regular group for boardgames. Which one of these should I get and why?
Root, Root, or Root?

Finding NORMAL Board Gamers?
I don't want to come in too hot with this take.... but where do you guys find other NORMAL board gamers?
I have gone to meetups, hosted meetups, gone to shops, and everywhere I go the bar for social skills is low. I often find interesting games to play but I don't find too many people who I'd want to “meet up with” again.
My own friends will play board games with me but it sometimes feels like a hostage situation, which I’m into but they don’t seem to be. I'm seriously considering giving up on the hobby and finding a hobby more suitable to my…tastes.
I know TTRPG's and DnD have bigger communities than board games but I simply am just not into them, the player base just has a different…flavor.

I'm currently developing an erotic game for couples (boardgame) and I wonder what do you think of such kind of games? What do you like/dislike? What works for you best?
So far, the main difference is that my game includes a strategic mechanisms and you really need to think a bit in order to win and enjoy the actions even more. I try to stay from the basic "just draw actions cards".
Once it is ready, I'll probably run a Kickstarter campaign.

Personally I don’t like playing or associating with games that use the word “monsters”. It’s derogatory and historically used to vilify oppressed peoples. In fact the very thought of it puts me into a blind rage where I tear off my clothes and destroy everything I can get my hands on in a 50ft radius while screaming, grunting and soiling myself.
It disgusts me that there are people out there that want to play games with a “monster” let alone a “different one” every time. What is wrong with you? Is one not enough for you oppressors?
Thankfully I only play games with the same protagonist over and over again . That way I know, despite the rules, that the “monster” knows I’m respectful and committed to learning about them, their culture and ancestral way of life. At the crux of the game, a showdown with the protagonist, I always stop the game and take the time to educate my players on why “Grotox Elf-Slaver, the Destroyer of Worlds” is truly a victim of oppression and colonization. We then join hands and apologize to Grotox for the injustice and oppression he has had to face by other players not like us. Every time he kills and/or enslaves us I feel like we are doing our small part to help make reparations and raise awareness for “monsters” everywhere.

The game is played on a 5×5 point grid, like alquerque. Pieces are positioned at the intersection of the lines and not inside the areas delimited by them. Directions of valid movement between these points are connected by lines. The game play takes place in two phases. In the first phase the goats are placed on the board while the tigers are moved. In the second phase both the goats and the tigers are moved. For the tigers, the objective is to "capture" five goats to win. Capturing is performed as in alquerque and draughts, by jumping over the goats, although capturing is not obligatory. The goats win by blocking all the tigers' legal moves. Bagh-chal has many similarities to the Indian game aadu puli attam (lambs and tigers game), though the board is different.
I have created an online version of baghchal game. Here is the link to the game:
- It has multiplayer feature so you can also play with your friends.
- It has a bot mode where you can play with the bot in three different mode.
The game is still work in progress so there may be some bugs, I would love to see your feedback in the comments :)

I've known a gamer friend, let's call him Tom, like Tom from Dice Tower, but it's not him, another Tom, for about 6 months now. He's introduced our group to a handful of new games now. Most of them I like and end up buying shortly thereafter. But here's the shocker, the absolutely disgusting twist in all this... when I sit down with a rulebook myself I often discover that Tom, that utter fool, that illiterate moron, has misinterpreted a rule (because obviously my interpretation would be correct, being an intellectual) or EVEN MISSED A RULE ENTIRELY!!!
How do I tell Tom that he's a complete imbecile, a subhuman trogladyte that I can't even believe managed to make it to adulthood?
It makes me not want to play a game without reading the rulebook myself, which defeats the entire point of having a Tom. Do you think we should just get a new Tom or should we just beat our current one with sticks until he can recite every rulebook flawlessly?

Used to be a respectable game. its just a shitshow selling plastic crap at this point! It was a perfect game. you can’t just add maps and tigers and Cthulhu and Elon musk and fleshlights to it. Come on! I miss the old days

As a adult I don't have the need to get into pointless discussions that result in intense collaborative onanism.

I got tired of carrying my shrink wrapped collection around so I dumped all the components together into a loose card board box when that wore out I switched to a garbage bag. Now I can easily carry my whole collection to every game night. The other players weren't impressed even though I have rare out of print games ready to play.
