Just for context it was 2021 and 13 year old me did not make the correlation that only black people had waves. I sat in my barbers hair and with full seriousness asked for waves. Instead of saying no, my barber (who was black and had waves himself) gave me a buzz and sold my mom a durag a brush and some of the product. For three straight months I did the whole process. Eventually I asked if he could just shave the waves into my head and well this is what happened.

This deserves to be shamed.

Circa 2009. I was a veteran "scene kid" in a small, rural Australian town.

Thinking I was cool drinking whiskey from a tea cup with my newly shaved eyebrows, that I painted over with liquid eyeliner.

There is several months where I made this hand gesture in every single photo, like some kind of dorky version of a gang sign.

You guys blew up that last one and I've never met a bunch of people so nice on this app, especially since I kinda expected a roast😂 it made me confident enough to share a timeline since we're all just exploring nostalgia 🩵

Whole fam at Disney World circa 2002 New Years Eve. I’m 10 and having the time of my life, my brother is 13 “BUT WILL BE 14 in TWO MONTHS, OKAY?!”, my dad is done dirty by the surprise strobe camera flash, and yeah my mom is hot af.

So cringe. I was 13, skinny af & I didn’t have social anxiety yet so life was good. Lol my cousins hand floating in the air always makes me ctfu when I see this pic 😂 my cousin caught Omarions towel that night too. (We were in the 3rd row shoutout to my awesome auntie she never skimped out when it came to us)

this would’ve been considered fashionable, beautiful, absolutely amazing at my school. but, I wore this going to hoco at a conservative suburban public school

(and later on I was also actually on theme for their 1920s prom (but I looked good that time so I digress))

Circa 2010. My friend and I pregamed at my house and I told him I liked his hair. He said he did it himself and could do mine as well with a razor. At this point we had been smoking and drinking for a while. So I was down.

Then my mom came in and liked my hair and told him to cut hers as well.

I used to wear this with pink and blue hair extensions, teal shutter glasses, and cobalt blue skinny jeans. Adult me is marginally more tame but I am still quite colorful

Puberty was not kind to me, but I did eventually learn to dress for my body. I'll post a more recent pic in the comments.

And I stopped calling myself Irish/ Irish American 😂 I just really liked Dropkick Murphys.

Complete with Dickies workshirt and matching pants. Adidas shelltoes. Sometimes the South Pole jean suit, black with white stitching. Always with the Hatchetman chain lol. Gangsta.
