So my pup, Cleo, has always been "accident prone." Meaning she didn't seem to be catching on to the house breaking thing despite her being 3 years old. Recently, I realized she has been drinking A LOT of water, thus peeing more and having more accidents. She started peeing in her crate. Worried about diabetes, I took her to the vet with a urine sample. The specific gravity of her urine was low, showing her urine is very dilute. The vet requested 2 more samples, one first thing in the morning and another last thing at night. Her office called back last evening saying that both sample's specific gravity is very low and they want 2 more first morning samples. They are thinking diabetes insipidus, which has nothing to do with her glucose levels. It causes extreme thirst and causes the dog to produce excessive amounts of urine, which could have been the house breaking issue all along
I've read it can be managed with meds. Does anyone else have any experience with diabetes insipidus?

Update #2
Update #3
We went to the vet yesterday for Frank's last heartworm checkup. All clear!! His ehrlichia test was still positive, but the vet said that was normal and it may be positive for the rest of his life.
We got home and Frank and Bailey got an Oinkie to celebrate.
Have a happy and healthy Wednesday!

My beagle basically understand everything i'm saying but he is stubborn af
Two trainers have given up on my dog, they did tell that my dog is highly intelligent and literally understands everything we say but is just stubborn
Like I wanna play fetch with my beagles outside but the thing is once their nose starts working and pick up on a scent. They refuse to come back to me even if I held a treat. They shut their brains off the way beagles do.
Man I just wanna play fetch with them like normal dogs outdoor in the park

it’s 00:30 am where i am and i woke up to him crying. his head won’t stop shaking, he’s very unstable and erratic. i’m not sure what to do. i’m only 16 myself and my sister is 13 she’s awake with me and him right now. i don’t know how to help him. please don’t hate on me for this i just need help and advice!!! is this an emergency vet situation? has anyone dealt with this before? he was neutered a week ago but we had our checkup yesterday and everything was fine. i just don’t know what to do! i’m panicked and i have autism my dog is my best friend. please be kind and any answers will help!
update: we tried to give him some water and he was scared of it and the way he was acting was so concerning we decided to wake up my mum. we really held off from doing this because my mum never listens to our concerns. he perked up a bit when my mum came down so she didn’t believe us but she let him into the garden and he started acting erratic again. he wouldn’t get out of the bush, barking and shaking. he also threw up. my mum still won’t acknowledge something is wrong. one day something will be seriously wrong and she won’t listen and then he’ll be dead. idk how to change this mindset of hers.
i’m seeing some responses about weed ingestion. my brother is a weed smoker and has indeed smoked today so im thinking this could possibly be it. i dont really know where to go from here because im not being listened to. thank you for all the help though!

It's Koppa's 3rd birthday. Show him some love.
Poe is losing his manhood today. 🥺 I think his bark may change to a higher pitch. It’s ruff days ahead for my little man. And so it goes.

His name is luffy. He will take food as much food u feed. The name itself justifies him.

Decided he wasn't going to miss out and brought his bone to our weekend picnic lunch. The one he had buried a week ago.

At the dog park with my girl and my beagle was into a bunch of dogs at the park and she got into mud and she jumped up by on a woman who proceeded to look disgusted and snark at us. To be fair my girl got super muddy.
