For a while, I've felt like the way BADs affect the game is somewhat unhealthy, but I couldn't really place why. But after watching a few of the late game boltrix videos, I think I kinda get it.
Since fBADs take so long to pop down, they are really effective spaced out. And it's very possible to send 5+ between rounds ~30 and 35, and have then all on screen at the same time. Which means that players still scrambling to afford defenses from grouped DDTs and fZOMGs suddenly have to afford defenses for 5+ fBADs. That's an order of magnitude more expensive to defend. It punishes weak synergy instantly, and kills players who have fallen behind economically.
To an extent, this is intended. Obviously players who aren't economically strong or running a strong synergy should be punished.
But in practice, the round 30 difficulty spike kinda splits the game into round 30 strats, and round 40 strats (pre BAD and Post BAD). If you're confident in defending 5+ fBADs, you are probably willing to fight into the late 30s and 40s. But if you aren't confident, than it's significantly easier to force an end game before round 30 than it is to weather 5 fBADs. Especially if the 30s are really draining economically. I believe this is why so many strats run in HOM/ZOMG arenas are things like Sniper Dart Farm w Etienne. Or the older Tac Farm Wiz (or sub tac dart if you're tapped in). These strats are cheap and able to be excessively aggro since they aren't expecting to survive 30+. Why bother to play with BADs if you can just all out DDTs/ ZOMGs. I'd argue it's why so many players don't see BAD play at all. It's rare to see both players agree to go all the way to round 30 without someone choke rushing.
To clarify, I don't want to nerf BADs, but I think they need to be changed in a way that allows for a more natural flow into the late game.
Here's my hypothetical rework: BADs now unlock round 28, and grouped DDTs are now delayed until round 30. However, BADs are price nerfed from 15 k to ~25/30k. This pricing remains in effect until round ~33, where BADs are dropped down to their regular pricing of 15k.
This should theoretically turn the harsh difficulty spike into a more gradual but harsh difficulty curve.
First, that curve starts earlier, which hurts a lot of round 30 strats. It gives them less time to afford a truly lethal rush, and removes gDDTs from the picture. It still gives space for pre BAD strats to function, but it's now a lot more punishing to go without BAD defenses.
Second, the price nerf means that early BAD sends are going to require a lot more forethought. You can't just wait until round 30 and send 5+ fBADs, you have to save early, and your eventual rush will be significantly weaker. This makes an early fBAD a game changing investment, and one that requires a lot more skill to use.
Third, unfortified BADs are now encouraged. I think this is a lot healthier leading into the late game. It might not be worth it to invest in a fBAD if you think the opponent might defend it, but a regular BAD to force defenses might be perfect. I already see this a lot on round 30. A round 28 BAD would ease players into the late game without the shock of an fBAD.
There's a few other things that could be done to ease that mid-late game transition, like buffing purple eco earlier and maybe buffing spaced DDTs, but I don't want to get too far off track.
I'd love to see what people think of this down in the comments, love it or hate it, having this discussion now makes the game healthier overall, so lmk what you think.

Aside from the Ocean Obyn and Pat Fusty balance changes this was like, the only thing I was actually looking forward to in this update, among some straight up negative things about this update that would make something I like all the more important. "Oh! A Water Monkey Icon! I love Water Monkeys! That'll be fun to see!". Nah we get Buccaneer specifically (them being my favourite isn't gonna win me over on this).
At least if they had re-used the icon of one of Ocean Obyn's water based cosmetics (Tidal Wave Victory Animation, Splash Down Placement Animation, Geyser Level Up Animation, even part of the Splash Pops animation itself where it's just the splash) it'd fit the style of hero key trait icons and would properly communicate the idea of the theme of water as a whole. Like, is that obviously reusing assets? Yes. ...but this is more-so, so like??
My LOWEST expectation was that they'd just put Buccaneer, Sub, and Ice together in the frame to represent them. I've looked over other icons and realized it's actually a fairly common issue for them to just have a single tower icon to represent multiple tower buffs. However, those are for situations where they buff two full monkeys, or DJ Ben's Side Hustle which is for specific upgrades (although tbh that one's weak too, just being a supply drop icon. I just don't care about that one as much). This icon doesn't even really give a good indication of what a "Water Monkey" is, which I think is important since Ice Monkey is technically amphibious and can even be buffed while on land. It's a gray area that most monkeys don't have when it comes to these buffs, closest I can think of otherwise is biker buffing bucc mini-aces with specifically flame trail but the Level 7 description mentions the "fighter planes" separately from the Monkey Ace tower so that's accounted for.
I've tried to be optimistic about this game for a long time but I think at this point my passion is growing cold until they actually show us stuff, actually put content directly into the game, or at LEAST give us ACTUAL teasers and trailers.
It's not like I'm going to suddenly get "mad" at the developers or something (in a non-sarcastic manner anyway, i'll get sarcastically mad at them plenty, especially in clan chat). But like, this update is very disappointing overall. The new content I was hype for was a type of icon I haven't analyzed deeply on other heroes up to this point since I wasn't too terribly interested aside from the occasional original art asset, and it wasn't even something new. The map is terribad (and I'm usually more optimistic about maps than others, I like stuff like Neo Highway that many people don't like). I appreciate that it re-uses elements of other models to make developing it more efficient, but it's not like the effort saved on that went anywhere else that we get to see. And at this point I'm done with "Well guys, because of x, y, and z, they ARE planning a big update, SOON!", even if I feel like I COULD make such an argument. As I said, my passion is growing cold. If I'm going to be excited, it's going to be because they were actually given the resources to do something.
And it's not like they don't WANT to do something or that they've given up on the game or something. They're just... Too small a team for everything that's been going on. SAS 5: ZAR was supposed to be released at the end of last year, if they could do that then they'd probably get some folks back onto this game 7 months ago or so. But it was delayed unexpectedly so they're rolling with that punch, while also trying to nurture Bloons Blitz.
Just... Ninja Kiwi, as a total conglomerate. Please. Upsize NK Europe. It is managing the only new revealed Bloons spinoff, it is managing the second biggest Bloons game which has a lot of potential within a largely unique genre (this one), and it is managing the second biggest Ninja Kiwi franchise's first new game in a long, long time. It deserves to have the size to be able to handle these three important (to varying degree) projects, instead of having to leave Bloons TD Battles 2 to ROT because they just can't do anything else, even if they want to, even if this game could be huge, even if people have been willing to give it a second chance even during this content drought throughout the years. This just isn't it.

I've been getting back into battles 2 after quitting a year or so after release, but wondering how others feel after being drip fed content for more than 3 years. could go on a rant about that lol

I used to use tack mortar farm fateweaver for most games, but now I don’t know what I should use. I know tack is still useable with 320 but I also wanna use more Strats. Strats i have been using with pretty good success are dart mortar farm, boomer mortar farm, and bomb wizard farm all with fateweaver. If I start using a new Strat I would prefer if it had farm and fateweaver. I’ve had alright success with dart engi farm and the Strats I’ve already mentioned. Do y’all have any suggestions?

I was wondering what should I get next, right now I have boat and dartling t5 and also spike factory and engi and I was wondering if it's best to unlock all tower or get some strong t5 like banana farm, wizard or supermonkey or try to get a new hero like obin into ocean obin or etienne into beetienne

So I've been working on making a longer video talking about a novel I grew up with. Ender's game is such a cool book, and making a btdb2 video about it has been kind of a trip. It's been a lot of fun trying to make this project work, but also hella stressful. I genuinely can't wait for the final version!

I'm new to the game. (Sorry the screenshot looks like this—I speak Spanish and play with the game set to Spanish.)
I've been trying to rank up all week. (I wasn't no-lifing the game or anything, I just tried whenever I played.) I tested different strategies, and the one that worked best for me was using a 3-2-0 Dartling Gunner to deal with camo and fortified bloons. Most people don't seem to have an answer for fortified camo bloons, so I usually win. If that doesn't work, I just drag the match into the late game and try to outlast them.
Anyway, that's not really the point. I just want to know if it's worth ranking up as a new player, because I had no idea you don't get the rewards afterward.
(I'll probably make another post later about how little information the game gives you and how unfriendly it is for new players.)
Ojalá esté bien traducido lol

For me it was against the number one ranked player in HOM at the time. We got building site I used dart mortar farm. I forget what they were using. The game became very drained money wise. I all outed rnd 16 with ceramics by selling all my defence. They counted with purples because they are faster. And it ended 0 lives to 0 lives and I won. So what is your most memorable game?
Edit: if you are wondering how I won if we both leaked to 0 lives, at 27:00 in this video shows it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dVfVRIHtVo8

Does anyone have any tips for using bomb, wiz, farm fateweaver? I’ve started using because I like the amount of micro in it and the easy round 11/13 defence. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips. I’m not bad at it, I used it to get back to HOM so I know how to use it. Mainly was wondering how to defend FBADs round 30 better. Rn I get a Moab elim and WLP. Then sell into crush for insides.

I just started playing the game, and I was wondering what would be the best hero for me to buy?
r/battles2 • u/RichmO2 • 14d ago
At some point there will be to many maps in the game and its pretty annoying to skip reverse inflection to normal inflection .
20-30 maps in the pool at once.
If a reverse variant of a map is in the pool the normal map can not be in the map pool(goes both ways).
New maps are put into the pool even if the max maps are already In the map pool.
Maybe this could only be for hom

I watch Ryan mehallic and boltrix videos but can't find any other channels that have posted recently.
Do you guys have any suggestions? I'm trying to get better at the game and learn more strategies but sometimes it is hard to follow those two because they use a lot of heroes that I don't have yet
