I make my battlemaps in Talespire and it's usually not great for 2D maps, but I like how this came out in the 2D mode.

The original mine encounter map was for the online edition of D&D’s Dungeon Master’s Guide – 2024 rulebook. The adventure is called ‘Miner Difficulties”  and is meant for 2nd level adventurers.

I’ve tried to follow the original closely and even marked the different transition points. Rather than creating a true vertical map I laid out each level separately, just like in the original.

This is the city of Men'at, home to the Simbani (half lion, half human, like centaurs). I decided to bite the bullet and buy Inkarnate's premium sub. So, I've remade the map to look better. I was going to upload both a 200x200 and 50x50 version... but apparently the 200x200 is bigger then 20MB (even as webp), so all I could do was the 50x50 version. Still, I've provided a marked version and a "player"/unmarked version.

Also, no, "riad" isn't a typo. A riad is a desert home with multiple floors that houses an inner courtyard. The more you know :D

As you steer your lone rowboat through the crumbling marble pillars of the temple, a massive, ancient face begins to clarify beneath the dark, reflective water.

The submerged colossal goddess remains frozen in a silent, watery tomb, her form and features lost to the profound depths.

You feel a chill as you realize this isn't just a ruin—her long-lost presence seems to wait for the ripples of your oars to wake her from her thousand-year slumber.

This week's map is the Shadowed Wetland (30x35), a bleak and colorless bit of forest inspired by Shadowfell. That said, it probably could be even more bleak and colorless, I'm nearly able to detect green in the grass and bits of brown in the trees. Also, I'm not 100% sure there would be grass or plant life in the Shadowfell in the first place, so I suppose this maps is full of inaccuracies. Let's just call it a spooky forest and leave it at that.

High above the clouds, set on a layer of solidified Air and kept in place by eternal winds - the elegant, delicate construction serves as a temple of elemental air.

No earthly sounds can be heard there - just a whispering and roaring of the winds, and silent, almost ethereal hymns played by them on leaves and branches of the crystal tree.

There's no altar nor clerics - just a pool, illuminated by blue light - with an otherwordly face carved from unknown substance. It seems to wait...
