Good takeaways

Hello! I am coming to Banbury (house is in Cropedy) in a few weeks times for a hen do and we are looking for good takeaway options in the area to deliver on a Saturday evening. Please can anyone recommend good takeaways that deliver to Cropedy. Is there anywhere that’s not your usual Indian, pizzas etc? But also if it’s good please recommend!

Upcoming Screening at The Light

Post image

Hi all,

I'm posting here on behalf of the UK Green Film Network to draw attention to an upcoming screening at The Light on May 20th - The People's Emergency Briefing. It's a terribly insightful and timely film to draw attention to the climate and nature crisis faced by the UK (and the world).

If you have any thoughts on the topic or film, these screenings are also platforms for public discussion and we'd greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts!

Great local Fest for original music in Banbury in support of BARKS charity. The Apothecary Tap is a great supporter of local talent from Oxfordshire and further. Such a great music scene in Banbury and a break for the mad world.

Tesco Click & Collect

Hi, I’ve just moved to the area and usually do Click & Collect for my shopping. I’ve seen that the Tesco on Oxford Road in Brackley offers it, but I can’t find any info on where you actually collect from.

Normally there’s a designated hut or collection point, so I just wanted to check where it is before I book.

If anyone knows, I’d really appreciate the help!

(I know Brackley is separate to Banbury, but there doesn’t seem to be an active Brackley subreddit to ask in.)

Monthly Expenses Help

Hey everyone,

I’m moving to Banbury for work soon and wanted to get an idea of what monthly expenses look like. I’m a 25M and planning to rent a 1BHK—would love to hear what I should expect in terms of rent, utilities, groceries, and general cost of living.

Any insights or rough breakdowns would really help!

Anyone got any clues?

Saw Claudia Winkleman in the small Timpsons, next to Sainsburys, on Saturday. They had one of the blinds down so I presume something was being filmed. But does anyone know why, and what it was for.

moving here Looking for 3 bed rental

Hiya, if anyone knows of a private landlord who is a bit more open minded than the estate agents (not a credit/rent issue - unusual household make up…) and has anything in Banbury - preferably with a decent sized third room, please feel free to DM me - I’d love to hear from you. Thanks!

Live Jazz

Hi folks 👋

We’re hosting a Parlour Jazz Valentine’s night at Lynrace Spirit (Jericho) on 12th February, and thought I’d share in case it’s your kind of evening.

It’s an intimate live jazz night led by local saxophonist Ollie Weston, with soulful takes on jazz classics in a cosy, listening-style setting.

🎟️ Every ticket includes a complimentary Lynrace Negroni or a glass of Prosecco on arrival.
Doors open at 7pm, with the bar open all evening for cocktails. There’ll also be a short interval to top up drinks, chat with the musicians, and soak up the atmosphere.

Great for a relaxed Valentine’s date (or just a love of jazz).

Details & tickets here:
