Have a few old balisongs in my knife collection. Can’t remember where or when this one came from but the name and Maxace on the blade seem familiar. Think I will keep it safe and not in my giveaway pile or flip it like a madman ifs not just Alibaba junk. Thanks!

I've got to say they've gone above and beyond the extra mile for me. I don't want to go into exact details because I don't want to set some precedent that some others may think they should be entitled to by citing this case. I KNOW that's a disappointing amount of detail lol, I really apologize! However, I do believe in shouting out exceptional service, so thank you to Lucas and the team.

Lucas resolved a special case for me after customer service hours which was unexpected to start with, considering it originated from a generic "contact us" submission from the website. The next day, there was a slight issue with the previous resolution so the team contacted me and offered a further resolution that they didn't need to and will cost them extra time, effort and materials. I'm pretty humbled!

I was out of the Bali scene for a good number of years but I remember Lucas sharing his first ideas and iterations of the first squid trainer from Jerzeedevil balisong forums (RIP) and to see how far they've come with offerings in almost every tier from beginner to grail, it's fucking great to see! When I first started getting back into balis a couple years ago, the krake raken name kept coming up as one of the new standards so I had to pick one up and was amazed at how good an aluminum bali could be as a Ti alternative and a great quality value for the price point. Since then I've picked up a Tsunami, a squiddy for my young nephew and looking forward to a Madko Tanto...and as soon as I can I'm most definitely grabbing a Mutalisk!

Anyways, just wanted to say thank you and wax nostalgic. May your handles be safe and your bites be dry!

I got back into flipping and decided to pick up a name brand bali. This thing has been so dope. It is a bit heavy compared to my others (aluminum and plastic) but feels so smooth.

Recently received my first AcidWrx piece (and also my first titanium Bali). It looks and sounds incredible. Totally shocked by how good it feels and sounds. It's also unsharpened so I can flip it a little more freely.

I'm still kinda new to this hobby so pardon the lack of tricks in this video 😅.

Not really news but just a tip I have for people who believe there bali's have started being slippery or being dropped to often. Wipe the handles down with alcohol it removes the oil film that has probaly developed from over oiling or sweat. That's all

My new (second hand) Stitch R's screws are locked into the pivots forever!

I tried a soldering iron at 900° in the screw hole for 10 minutes and hit it with a t10 but nothing got them undone.

Does anyone know of someone who does this professionally/well enough and can get my balisong taken apart? Any help is appreciated!

The previous owner stripped the screws a little bit but they still seem to catch my driver. I would like to clean and replace the hardware which I already purchased and maybe anodize at some point.

CF, ti liners + spacers, and a false edge with a wicked tip for $88, can’t complain at all.

but there are a few minor things to complain about ironically. CF is super dry out the box - needs to be oiled. the anodizing on the liners is not the best. CF scales could be cut and cleaned up around the edges and holes so overall the fit and finish could be a lot better.

but none of those things above are a big deal. especially for $88, i’m throughly impressed and i’d say it’s worth the wait.

decent bit of handle bias stock but it’s got adjustable weights, and comes with 1 set of spare hardware.

only about 4.1 ounces but it kinda gives some rep vibes, it’s nice.

this thing goes by a couple names so i’m not sure what it’s really called.

reddit kinda compresses the video a bit, i took it in 4k so try and show off how rich the CF is, but i think it still looks alright.

Sent in my itzpapalotle for sharpening and caved on buying a lazerus.. :P decided to try speed channels on the itzpapa and got them both lasered by paul himself !

Lazerus got my existing itzpapalotle’s handles and the itzpapa got new speed channeled handles..

Definitely expected to feel a dramatic difference between the two knives but it’s very subtle, and that’s not a bad thing at all.. both knives handle so fucking nice! The laz has a tiny bit more tip weight I feel

can’t really feel a difference on the itzpapa after getting speed channeled handles but I’m glad I got them

All of this is my humble opinion, just happy to own these two sexy thangs now

3D printed these scales since I found my old Benchmade 51 in the garage, which was my EDC for 10 years. Almost got a little emotional when I found it lol, as it was my little buddy for a long time. Just gotta print the other side now. Maybe clean the ano, lemme know what you think,

Don’t know if you’re still active bro, but I fixed (and modified tolerances and chamfers of course lol) the 3MF/ STL file so it runs on modern printers and shows the model geometry. Let me know if you want me to upload it or DM the file.

I fixed the chionis blade! Ive wanted to do this for the longest time and ive asked so many modders, but they always suggested to chop off the tip (which i wasnt a big fan of) or that it wouldn't turn out right. I decided to take it into my own hands ??.
and it
turned out great! This made a world of difference and this chioni now flips amazing without that extra chunk on the blade, they should have went with this blade shape from the start! This one is also speed channeled and wowwww It is so flowy while still staying agile.
