So for a while now, my family has had our small dog, (a jack Russell + rat terrier mix) and he's been struggling. Not limping or showing he's in pain, but its there. I'm not able to help around much as I'm not home often, but my parents only went to the vet to get his vaccines as a puppy, and haven't taken him back since. The vets have constantly told them that they should do a dental checkup, (which is $3000—atleast what I've been told, I'm not too well versed in that type of pricing..) Recently, when checking on him for some before bed pets, I checked his dog bed and noticed one of his back molars had *fallen* out. Root and all. He hadn't shown anybody he was in pain, and I did some digging, apparently they don't like to show themselves in pain. It breaks my heart to hear this. I went to my parent (keeping everyone anon) and was immediately met with guilt tripping and how its "too" expensive. Mind you they went and paid a few grand to build a (not needed) bar, went to an expensive concert, and thinking of going to another. My baby's health has been put off for years. I genuinely can't do anything as we've had him for 8 years now. I know I'm quite young, and I'm not eligible for a source of income that's able to produce enough money for him. Sadly, in my family, its normal to ignore health issues, but I can't stand seeing an animal go through this. What hurts even more, is the fact that he still loves everyone. I can't do anything. And nonetheless, I don't want to put my baby into foster care, I've seen the industry is horrid and most dogs get put down. Just needed to rant a bit, thank you for reading. I will do anything I possibly can.

What the hell is with some people.
My daughter works for an airline. Today there was a flyer trying to board a plane with a hidden baby kitten.
When he was caught on the jet bridge with said kitten he was told he could fly with it but had to pay the carry on animal fee.
He didn’t want to do that so he just abandoned it on the jet bridge. WTF!
Thankfully one of the employees wives came and picked it up and took it home.
After getting past the emotions of my broken heart I have to realize that he did not deserve that cat or any other animal for that matter.
If he can abandon a baby kitty like that he probably is/will be a very shi$$y father too.
I have also heard of many that will abandon their dogs when checking in for their flight and baggage check-in in leu of paying the fee.
There’s a special place in hell for this type of person.

My neighbour's cat shits (feaces) all over the place every day. As I type this, I woke up to 4 sets of shits (feaces, cst poo), in addition to three sets I was reluctant to pack yesterday.

Initially, I spoke with him and he told me to beat the cat. I suggested cat rollers to him. Another time I spoke with him he repeated that I should flog the cat, and that he is planning a solution but has not got the time.

The shits smell so awfully and they are everywhere. I pack them and the cat just drops new ones.

I have just bought the property (a house with a compound) and moved in less than a month ago. I came here to another city to study and will put it up for rent when I am done and leave. It's frustrating, distracting, and annoying having to live with this situation.

Please, what do I do? I don't want to abuse an animal, I don't want to have a fight with my neighbour, and I don't want to put up with this either. Every suggestion is welcomed.

This isn’t the first time he’s gotten this furious and angry at his dog for being picky or not listening, he gets so angry he doesn’t even want to look at his dog when he’s being picky or not listening, and then he talks about his dog like this, he’s talked about him like this before , whenever he won’t eat a bone he bought or doesn’t behave very well.. every time he talks about his young dog like this it makes me sick to my stomach..

Note: yes he is a transgender male , I should’ve mentioned that before, he’s was on the testosterone gel for a while, even got top surgery but stopped over a year ago because he lost his job… his periods are a nightmare and make all his mental problems worse but not a excuse to talk to his dog as such.

Who the hell advises someone to purchase ANOTHER dog when they’re already having a hard time tending to their first one? So now they’ll have two mutts destroying their home while they’re out working 12 hours shifts, awesome advice.

You are not legally obliged to own a dog. Get rid of it and all your problems are solved. Dog ownership is not a necessity. Stop bitching and moaning about how hard it is to own a dog, because it’s an optional luxury that you brought it upon yourself entirely for no reason aside from personal amusement at possessing an animal.
