Best first steps for cleaning this green?
I work on a property with backyard greens. Owners want it cleaned up. I have zero golf green experience so I’m hoping for some insight of what first steps should look like.
There is discoloration throughout the artificial turf and it has terrible drainage. Seems like some gunk is growing in the sand/envirofill in the turf. Also, there is some gross slime-mold-like substance growing in one section (last photo).
My first thought was to remove as much as the gunked sand as possible, treat with an appropriate chemical, and then refill with fresh sand/envirofill mix. After that, begin routine maintenance to keep everything looking nice.
Any recommendations or advice is appreciated!

Journey to a backyard green
Planted 2022. Pure select creeping bentgrass. 50ish yds and in. It has helped my golf game tremendously. Ask me anything! Reddit has been super helpful along the way.

Should I wait to cut a hole?
I had a few burn spots on my green from too much fertilizer. They have all been filling in but this long one is being the slowest at filling in. My green is new and I’m mowing at 5/8’s of an inch right now.
My question is should I cut the hole in a good spot and then use the plug in the bald/ thin area or should I wait until I’m cutting lower to decide this?
And before you come at me for the trees it gets enough sun in this area

Can it be saved?
Hey guys - I bought a house that had a pretty neglected backyard putting green. It’s about 35 ft by 18 ft. It looks like it was put down on top of a tarp layer (I’m guessing for weed control?), with compacted stone dust underneath.
Is it possible to save? Is it even worth an attempt?
Some grass and weeds grown through, will need to realign the holes, moss removal. Was hoping some elbow grease, a good pressure wash, vacuum and sweep could get things in a good place. Then would like to add infill.
Can it bounce back? Any thoughts would help!

40 yard chipping area - looking for thoughts/ideas

Started building a chipping area in the backyard. It's 40 yards max. A little dry (usually) ditch runs in front of the area. I tested it and there is room enough between the trees with a reasonably decent chip. I've cut down a number of small trees already and now working on lowering the right side to reduce slope.
Should I just keep it as a 40 and under chipping area? If so, should I bring in sand to reduce ball bounce? Is it worth trying to make the area putt-able? If so, turf or grass? Any thoughts and/ideas welcome.

Are bugs eating the backing on my turf?
Turf is about 15 years old. Something is eat the backing only and the turf fibers rise because nothing is holding them together.

Putting green roll

Hi Friends - I have a question. I had a putting green installed in Utah, today. It has a couple bumps in the middle currently. It has rained a lot today. Will it smooth out when it dries?

130m to artificial green - thoughts on grass taking the “pitch”?
So I have been experimenting with a pitching green. Natural grass is not an option where I am, so I’ve bought several different artificial grasses to try. My putting green uses a 4mm vinyl linoleum under the artificial grass and that takes small 20m pitches quite well…so I tried it with 130 140m pitches and…nope. The 4mm vinyl acts like a trampoline and Bounces way too hard and makes it next to impossible to fly it onto the green. Next, I bought 50 x 10mm foam gym tiles, interlocking, and put them under the grass - thinking they’d absorb some of the energy…well I was wrong again and the bounce was even higher! I haven’t yet tried a basic bedding sand, or a vibrated crusher dust, (next on my list) but just wondering if anyone has successfully used anything to absorb the longer shots, spin the ball, hold “the green”. ? *Yes, I realise it’s a square and not dead level / smooth - that will be done once I can verify what materials will work.

Indoor putting setup inspiration
Looking for some inspiration on possibly building a mini putting apparatus. Kind of like a long rectangular tee box but for putting. Anybody try something like this before?
