Hi everyone
First of all, thank you all for being participants in r/audhd, we appreciate all your posts and comments a lot!
We want to clear up something about our submission process.
It's actually quite straight-forward:
(1) You post your submission;
(2) We check it out and see if it matches the sub focus;
(3a) If it does, we approve it and the post becomes visible in the sub;
(3b) If it doesn't, we remove it and you get notified in a comment.
Due to the nature of this subreddit, all of this happens manually, individually, by human moderators. We handle the queue first in, first out, so the time it takes to approve or remove your post may take anywhere from a couple of minutes to roughly 48h, depending on our workload.
We have noticed that a lot of you tend to send a modmail first to ask if their post can be posted. We get that, it's the way it works in most subs so you're used to copying that approval message to a bunch of relevant subs' modmail, and see what sticks.
However, we adamantly ask you not to do that in r/audhd for two main reasons:
(1) Every modmail that we have to reply to takes away time from our actual queue, meaning every post that is awaiting approval, will take a little longer.
But, mostly, for your sake:
(2) If we see such a modmail, our response will be "please just submit it and we'll process it when we get to it", meaning that by the time you read our reply and submit your post, it's at the back of the line and you've lost your own valuable time, too.
You are, of course, still welcome to reach out to the mod team in modmail for any and all other inquiries. We love hearing from you in general. ;-)
TL;DR please do not modmail us asking if it's okay to post - just post, and we'll see your post in our queue!
Thank you for understanding, and happy Redditing!
