Maps team responding faster?

I’ve noticed responses to my edits in Maps in the U.K. has been getting a lot faster recently.

Has anyone else found that?

I’ve just moved house so reported a lot more recently, 28 outstanding reports. Perhaps the higher numbers means faster responses?

Is it possible to save multiple places at one time?

So each month for work I travel to multiple stores of the same company. Next month, for example, I’ll travel to Nevada and go to every Walmart in the state. Prior to the trip, I have to tediously save each Walmart location in Apple Maps. I think use Apple Maps to guide me from store to store (usually to whichever is the closest). As I visit each store I unsave them, leaving only the stores I haven’t been to yet remaining.

There has to be an easier way of doing this. Perhaps Siri or another app, but so far I haven’t found anything. So do anyone know of a way that I could save multiple stores in an area at the same time? (Like, save every Walmart location in a state?)

is ratings feature still available & being developed? I can see it but I can't leave any ratings. I used to be able to tap on the thumbs up/down but this is no longer available to me. I haven't left ratings for sometime I kind of forget about it but want to give a thumbs up for a business.

screenshot for example, on ios 26.5.2.

Re-routing after going off-piste

In the UK, I'm trying to get to like Apple Maps because I like the display and it's getting more features where others have had them for some time now.

One thing that stops me using it more is when I choose to vary my route to that recommended, it takes an age, or even failing altogether to catch up and recalculate to the new route. Waze and Google Maps swap to the new route in seconds.

Having the offline area downloaded and good phone reception seems to make no difference.

Just found out look around is available in my city but not really - México.

I live in Queretaro which is not as big as the most popular cities like Mexico City and Guadalajara but I just found out that, while the look around button is not accessible straight up, you can enter look around mode by just holding down a pinned location.

I knew they have been taking images but it looks like it hasn’t fully been rolled out yet and it’s just hidden.

Apple Maps neglected Ukraine long before the war — here’s one example

I’ve been documenting the state of Apple Maps in Ukraine for several months, and one thing keeps standing out: many people assume the outdated map data is a consequence of the full-scale war.
However, that’s not what the timeline shows.
One example is Kurska Street in Kyiv. It was officially renamed to General Hennadii Vorobiov Street in December 2018 as part of Kyiv’s street renaming decisions.
Yet Apple Maps continued showing the old name for years afterward.
That means Apple had more than three years before the 2022 invasion to update this change, but apparently didn’t.
This isn’t an isolated case. Many renamed streets, businesses, and points of interest in Ukraine remained outdated for years. Since then I’ve documented numerous examples where Apple Maps lagged significantly behind official data and other mapping platforms.
I’m not posting this to criticize Apple for the consequences of the war. My point is different:
The evidence suggests that Apple’s map data for Ukraine had already been receiving very limited attention well before 2022.
Has anyone else noticed similar long-standing issues in other countries or regions where Apple Maps seemed largely neglected?

[iOS 27b3] Many Cities got regular Flyover (Satellite) back

Back when 27 beta 1 was released, select cities received Enhanced Flyover but everywhere else had regular Flyover removed. As of today, many cities that had regular Flyover got it back on the betas.

Original post

From the list of DCE cities, all of the ones that did not get Enhanced Flyover now have regular Flyover back - except for Singapore (which likely will never get Flyover; as noted in the comments of the original post), Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.

Other non-DCE cities that got regular Flyover back include: (sorry I only checked US cities)

  • Oahu
  • Phoenix
  • Denver
  • Portland
  • Minneapolis
  • Jacksonville
  • Orlando
  • Charlotte
  • Raleigh
  • Salt Lake City
  • Indianapolis
  • Cleveland
  • Nashville
  • Waco

Ones I checked that do not have regular Flyover back yet:

  • Sacramento
  • San Antonio
  • Santa Cruz

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem any new cities received Enhanced Flyover. However I didn’t check everywhere, so please feel free to comment any ones you notice!

Google Maps is citing Apple Maps, but it matched the wrong local business

Post image
7 Upvotes

I noticed something unusual in Google Maps’ new “Know before you go” section.
For DTF Dallas, Google showed the correct Apple Maps listing under “Additional sources used.”

Then I checked Iris DTF, another nearby DTF business in Richardson.
Google again showed an Apple Maps source, but the card was for DTF Dallas instead of Iris DTF.

These are separate businesses with different:
Addresses
Phone numbers
Websites
Apple Maps listings

DTF Dallas is located at 903 N Bowser Rd, and
Iris DTF is located at 801 Alpha Dr.

The Iris DTF summary also mentioned free in-store professional heat press use, which is a service associated with DTF Dallas.

So it looks like Google Maps is definitely reading Apple Maps business listings, but in this case it may have mixed up two nearby businesses in the same category.

Has anyone else seen Google Maps cite Apple Maps or attach the wrong business listing to an AI summary?

For transparency, DTF Dallas is my business. I’m sharing this because the source mismatch seems like an interesting local entity issue, not as a promotion

Saved Address

My boyfriend’s ex has her address saved in his maps when you start typing P her name and address pops up but it’s not saved under favorites or saved pin. It has a red pin icon next to it but it’s able to still be pinned. How do i delete it. He has already deleted her contact so I don’t know where this is coming from.

What do traffic events and report issue inconsistencies imply?

Hi. I love using Apple Maps and I am consistently reporting missing places, street issues, wrong information about different places in towns I visit over a year in my homeland. Moreover, I am always reporting traffic events when navigating with AM.

Over the past few years, I have noticed that all of my problem reports are being ignored (or they are not resolved at all in comparison to my starting attempts of reporting).

Likewise, traffic events, such as car crashes and roadworks, are not only being taken down after reporting them in navigating UI, but also they are not being tracked and updated by Apple Maps team via local sources and government websites.

Only problems that have been updated correctly are road closures, either by me or from local sources.

Described problems have occurred 3 years after the county has received 3D model of a buildings and look around, when Maps update were most frequent by AM team.

How can all this be explained?

Have you noticed how inconsistent reporting map issues is?

I’ve been reporting quite a few issues in Apple Maps recently and have noticed something that I think makes it much harder than it should be to submit feedback.

When you tap and hold on a street, the reporting options aren’t consistent.

Sometimes I get:

  • Report Something Missing

Other times I only get:

  • Report an Issue

The problem is that Report an Issue only offers a few options, such as:

  • Name is wrong
  • Location on map is wrong
  • Something else

Meanwhile, Report Street Issue (which is exactly what you’d want for reporting things like incorrect street names, road layouts, turn restrictions, speed limits, roundabouts, etc.) isn’t available at all.

This means users have to guess how to report different kinds of issues, and many people will probably assume the feature doesn’t exist.

I think Apple should make this much more consistent by always showing:

  • Report Street Issue
  • Report Something Missing

whenever you tap and hold on a street. Alternatively, Report an Issue should simply include all of the available reporting categories instead of only a limited selection.

If you agree, please consider sending the same suggestion to Apple. You can submit feedback at https://www.apple.com/feedback/), or via the Feedback app if you’re running an Apple beta..

Has anyone else noticed this inconsistency, or found a reliable way to access the full reporting options?

Recent buggy experience with turn-by-turn navigation in tunnels

For the last few years, Maps started to have this very annoying behavior for me where after a few seconds or minutes while driving through a tunnel, your current position would suddenly start drifting in a random direction. It would then constantly reroute you on random roads outside the tunnel instead of just staying snapped on the tunnel until GPS is available again.

Before sending feedback to Apple, I wanted to ask the community if you are also experiencing this bug and if so, are you using CarPlay and if yes, what vehicle are you driving?

I’m driving a newer Opel Corsa and Astra. I haven’t really tested this yet without using CarPlay. I’ve also been suspecting that the car might send wrong position data to CarPlay and the issue might not even lie directly on Apple‘s side.

There only seems to be this discussion on Apple’s forums from three years ago which sounds like the same issue but there aren’t really a lot of replies.

Thank you for your answers!

Is there a way to save a large area of satellite photo in a single image?

I'm planning a camping and canoeing trip, and I'd like to print out satellite imagery of the area I'll be staying. Apple maps has some of the clearest images I've found of this area. Of course I could take a bunch of screen-shots and paste them together, but what I can capture is limited by the size of my laptop screen, which isn't very big, and it seems really laborious. If I had a bigger monitor I could get a bigger image, but I wonder if there's a tool out there to capture an area of imagery at a certain zoom where you'd have to pan around to display it all on your screen. I'm not well versed in computer and image stuff... Thanks for any suggestions for how to approach this!

I started using Apple Maps there are some things that i love but god dam it the rerouting sends me up a wall some times

I drive for a living and ride a motorcycle in my free time. Apple Maps has a ton of features that I love, but the automatic rerouting to the freeway when I'm just trying to enjoy bebopping around Seattle is maddening.

New Map Data?

Post image

What exactly is "New Map Data" I've been hearing about it, and it seems like it's the step before a city gets the Detailed City Experience (DCE)? Is it just the buildings in detail like the one I sent above?
