I've wanted to have 2 roms dualbooted on my redmi note 4 with lk2nd. But apparently lk2nd is just a unified bootloader, not a multiboot tool. Is there any guide or information about petitboot and how to make it work on (at least) my device?

If I were to restart, it'll enter the Unlock Bootloader state and remain stuck in that state.
Unless I manually intervene by physically powering down and up the device.

This is annoying as I sometimes do remote restart the device.

So first adb and inspect right? So i inspected. i got that android 9. So i wanted experiment with CEVs to gain root privilege

So i discovered SElinux exists, Dropped the idea of CEVs. Then i looked at if OEM is unlocked? IT was and top it all off secure boot was disabled. Nice..

Trying to get Grindr (or its modded variants/modules) running on a modern rooted Android 15 environment results in instant crashes or 5-10 second splash-screen freezes followed by a force close.

2. Open Grind (Alternative Rust Client):
   The app boots successfully, but creating a new account fails because Open Grind lacks a built-in browser engine to solve Cloudflare Turnstile/CAPTCHA verification during registration. (Attempting registration on PC emulators like BlueStacks/LDPlayer also triggers strict environment blocks or requires Google/phone verifications that aren't available).

Looking for advice:
Has anyone successfully bypassed PairIP and modern obfuscation checks on Grindr under Android 15 with LSPosed, or is the app's anti-tamper structure currently incompatible with current Xposed hook frameworks on SDK 35? Any guidance on patching or alternative workarounds would be hugely appreciated.

I tried these two Magisk modules [AppSystemizer, terminal_systemizer] but they no longer work. I'm on Android 12.

I really don't know what else to try at this point.

I have a Redmi Note 9S (curtana), Android 10, rooted with TWRP installed.

The phone was working fine. I booted into Fastboot, then into TWRP. I didn't flash anything or change any files. I just went to Reboot > System.

After that, it got stuck on the MIUI logo for a while, the screen went black, and then it rebooted straight back into TWRP. It does this every single time now.

I tried disabling Magisk, removing Magisk modules, clearing Dalvik/ART cache and cache, and none of it changed anything.

Before I formatted the phone, TWRP was able to decrypt my data after I entered my password, and I could browse my internal storage normally.

Thinking it might be a data issue, I formatted data and wiped everything. Even after that, the phone still does the exact same thing. It stays on the MIUI logo for a while, goes black, and boots right back into TWRP.

I also have another problem that might be related.

Before all this, my USB port would charge the phone normally, but it would never connect to a PC for data transfer. On Windows it would show "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)", disconnect, reconnect, and keep repeating. I tested the same cable with another phone and it worked perfectly.

Right now the situation is:

• Redmi Note 9S (curtana)
• Android 10
• Unlocked bootloader
• TWRP installed
• Boots to MIUI logo, then goes black and reboots into TWRP every time
• Formatting data didn't fix it
• Windows detects the phone as "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)" before disconnecting
• USB data doesn't work

Has anyone seen this before? I'm trying to figure out if I'm dealing with a software issue, a hardware issue, or both. Any ideas would really help.

Hey guys I used to have a Moto Edge 2020 that was rooted on Android 11 and old magisk for the past 4-5 years but its screen died randomly a couple weeks ago.

So I have since gotten a Pixel 10a and I have been out of the modern rooting scene for a little bit and have been a little overwhelmed and have some questions I hope you all can help with!

From what I have gathered so far I should use pixelflasher, kernelsu or more specifically kernel su next, and then from there I am a bit lost.

I liked rooting for the adblocking, having modded apks like gaming or revanced, and for just the general freedom of some apps needing root and having that ability.

I would want pretty much all functions on my device to remain, I have already seen that I can use public compute services with lsposed to maintain the aicore features of the Pixel 10a. What about my ability to use my chase bank app, etc? I hear stuff about keys or something. Is that annoying or is there ways to get solid apps or modules to automate this? Or is that something I even need to worry about?

Also I was always disappointed about the bootloader unlock causing the loss of widevine l1 to l3 which made it so netflix and hulu won't stream above 480p, is that still an issue today and with the Pixel 10a? If so is there anyway to keep root and beat that so you get full quality netflix and hulu again?

I think that was most of my haphazard questions about the state of things now haha, I appreciate any advice or direction, thanks!

Looking for a future-proof Android tablet that can still be rooted years from now

I’m looking to buy a new tablet mainly for media consumption.

My biggest requirement is long-term control over the device.

Main requirements

• Must run Android
• If it runs Android, it must be rootable
• Must have USB-C
• Must be available new
• Price should be as low as reasonably possible
• Screen should ideally be 2K or 4K
• I can accept Full HD if the better options are too expensive or otherwise unsuitable
• It should handle all current streaming services smoothly and ideally remain capable for years
• As much RAM as possible for the price
• Storage capacity does not matter much
• Screen size does not matter
• Battery life does not matter much because it will usually be used near an outlet

What I mean by “rootable”

I do not need rooting to be easy, and I may never root the device unless it becomes necessary.

However, rooting must remain realistically possible years from now.

For example:

• An unlock process that depends on requesting a temporary manufacturer code would not be ideal, because the company could stop providing codes in the future.
• A permanent unlock code that I can request now and safely back up would be acceptable.
• Standard bootloader unlocking through Fastboot or another offline method would be ideal.
• A device that requires obscure hardware modifications, unavailable proprietary tools, or a currently active manufacturer server would probably not qualify.
• I am willing to follow a difficult technical process, but it should not be nearly impossible.

The reason this matters is that Google or a manufacturer could eventually block access to apps I use, such as Mihon. I want to avoid ending up with another locked-down device that still works physically but can no longer run useful software.

I still have a functional iPad 3, but I no longer use it because I cannot install Linux, reliably jailbreak it, or install modern apps.

Performance

The tablet should be able to:

• Stream high-resolution content without stuttering
• Remain usable for media consumption for several years
• Ideally play downloaded 4K video files smoothly

The last point is preferred but not mandatory.

Nice-to-have features

• Fast charging
• Strong custom ROM or Linux community support
• Good hardware video decoding

So I installed an unofficial custom ROM built for my phone model a while back and now naturally rooting comes next because I want to pass all the integrity tests so I can finally use my phone normally. (like for online games, banking, and stuff)

I was just about to go on and flash the boot.img I patched with ReSukiSU (since I saw it's like the best fork of KernelSU) when I found out about the existence of GKIs and SuSFS.

GKI is apparently better for custom ROMs and for better hiding capabilities, so I'm considering it, and also because SuSFS - which is what makes all the hiding stuff possible - is apparently only supported with GKIs.

If GKI is the better one, I have some questions: - Do I need to flash a new kernel everytime I install a new custom ROM? - Do I install the custom ROM first before the kernel or vice versa? (or does it matter at all?) - Are there some prerequisites to installing a GKI? - Where do I even find one?

I installed my custom ROM from a Telegram group because after years of searching and waiting, my phone (Itel P55 5G) just didn't get any support/recognition in XDA or any community except Telegram so yeah I had no choice.

From the same Telegram channel, I found that they were promoting another channel about GKI kernels, and if there are no "official" releases again for GKI kernels then I'm gonna have to use the ones from there again.

I'm using AdAway on my Rooted Redmi Note 11 since years and it works fine (at least within all apps) but recently I heard about this app Goodbye Ads in a video about great Shizuku apps. It's with nice Material design (not that important) but also claims to be better. What can you say/suggest? Is Goodbye Ads app hosts based like AdGuard or just changes the DNS like you can do in the Android Settings? Also can I use Goodbye Ads without the Shizuku having to reactivate everything with the phone restart, and instead run it with a proper root privileges?

I'm mostly asking because of how the AdAway works for me. It's probably a wrong configuration on my end but a lot of websites recently (especially in my country maybe other websites) still show damn Ads. I need a better tweaked host lists, etc.? Or an ad blocker app with the ability to block specific elements from the said website like I do on PC but for this I need specific browser app/extension, etc not an Ad Blocking app?

And what about these in-app ads where you have to press a button (it's optional) but in order for the app to do the said button action you have to watch a stupid ad first in order to get the action done. While AdAway is enabled, pressing the button says "There are no ads at the moment, please try again later" so is there any way to pass these annoying ads or wasting my time to watch the ad is mandatory? (I hope the last thing is not a gray area for this subreddit)

If you used Goodbye Ads or AdAway and or any better ROOT based (non VPN) adblocking software, please give me advice/help. Thanks!

The accumulation of bad news from Google trying to get rid of side loading, increasing data privacy concerns, etc. in the recent time are slowly pushing me to reconsider custom ROM after years of not customizing my device. The final straw at the back is when my local bank app decided to force me update my OS version in order to use their app, but I'm unable to update the android version as the device no longer providing them.

That said, I'm quite lost at what kind of custom ROM I should be using. I don't even know where should I begin to root my device and unlock its bootloader even, as it's been over a decade since I've touched this topic. I recall there was a site called XDA that I frequent often, is that site still relevant today? I even heard of a way to upgrade the android version via GSI image for A16, and I briefly checked it via Treble Info and it seems my device is compatible with that GSI.

For context, the device I'm trying to root, unlock its bootloader, and install a custom ROM into it is a Huawei P30 Pro.
