Hey r/androidapps,
Today, we are announcing a few minor updates to the subreddit, in order to focus on the quality of posts moving forward:
We know we cannot please all members of the community, nor do we expect everyone to be happy with the change. Again, we hope this encourages positive discussion in the subreddit around all apps, not just be an advertising ground.
We encourage all users to report any content which breaks these rules.
We expect to see an increase in the mod queue due to the new rules and automod code, so please be patient with us as we work through everything.

Is there something similar on github or the playstore?

I tried all the keyboards.
but still there's no one come close to the gboard suggestion and the voice typing feature the best replacement for it was swift key keyboard but I hate it still there are some tweaks and settings I can do and I am curious to know what you are using and tell me.

Been using LDplayer for about a year now, but I'm growing tired of the performance issues and constant ads the app uses. Anyone know a good lightweight Android emulator for windows 10 that supports google play functionality? bonus points if its open source but no problem if it isn't.

Hi, as the title suggests, I am looking for a solution which lets me listen to my Galaxy watch 7's audio through bluetooth to my android (Samsung Galaxy) phone.
I'm not very fond of Bluetooth headsets and during my workouts I get all the instructions on my watch which is a hassle to listen to. And I always have to keep my phone with me. So, I am thinking is it possible to get the watch's audio to my phone which I may listen to via wired headsets.
Windows has Bluzic for this functionality, but I couldn't find anything for Android.

I know Samsung calendar can do something similar, was wondering if there was any app I could plug into Google Calendar that would use the same APIs as the alarm, so that I can see a full-screen message even when my screen is locked.
Do you know anything like this? I need something reliable that won't get killed by battery optimization.

Guys, a .txt file suddenly appeared on my phone. I believe it's related to Kaspersky, but I don't know what it means.
I've been using Kaspersky for a long time and this has never happened before, and I don't know what I could have done to cause it.
I have a Redmagic 8 Pro with Android 15. Kaspersky was banned from the Play Store, and I had to download it via APK from the official website.
I'll put the file name and the content.

Hey guys, so recently I heard a friend's story whose family member had an accident but no one was there to help him (due to late night in less crowded area) and couldn't even track the phone as its GPS was off (they tried Google Find my Phone), and the relative used to keep GPS off to save battery.
This made me think a lot, is there any app which I can install in my family members devices and track them, which can turn on the GPS/Location services if off? Of course, it will be installed with their full consent.
Even if it's paid or free, I'll be grateful for the recommendations (Heard about Paralino but it looks like it's unavailable in india).
Thanks for your time and suggestions.

I've been looking for an app that looks up-to-date (M3 Expressive) and has a widget to control media playing from any source, like Spotify or Yt music. There's only like one option on the Playstore and I was wondering if maybe there's more options

I just downloaded Android 17, and I now can't get past a couple of swipes on YouTube without the entire app closing. If I can find something to watch within those few swipes, I'm good for a while, but it will randomly close on me. I have tried deleting the cash and app data as well as uninstalling and reinstalling all of the updates, and nothing has helped. My phone is a Google pixel 10A, and YouTube comes standard, so I can't fully uninstall and reinstall it. Is there anything else I might be able to do?

Apart from Poweramp, is there no other music player with such an advanced equalizer?

I'm not even sure if it's still available. I had it in 2016, 2017.
It was a word game, where you used to play with someone else. It had categories like: animals that start with A and you had to name it the max you could in 30 seconds or 1 minute. If you got a "different" more difficult word, it would count more to your points and then I remember it was purple the rare ones and the one with most points used to win. I remember the logo of the app was blue, but I can't remember the name.
I wanted to used in a class. And yes, I've tried it looking on my apps on Google Play, but after a few apps, it stops working and I have to close down Google play.

I am trying to block adult content on my device. My setup uses content blocking app, which relies on the Android Accessibility Service to enforce restrictions. I recently discovered that if I manually go to Settings → Accessibility → Installed apps and disable it's Accessibility Service, the protection stops working. Is there a way to prevent access to the installed apps section under Accessibility?

Hello. During android 6 era, I used a qr code scanner called QR Droid Private.
It had extremely good generating options with things like url shortening, color gradients, password encryption, qr messenger, in built url shortening etc.
Sadly, that app doesn't work on Android 17 anymore and their servers are also down. Is there any modern alternative that has similar functionalities?

So we know Instagram has a once view photo which you cant screenshot not save now.
but someone I can save them without screenshotting
The way is to hold the photo, and when the picture is small enough to slide around your phone, you slide it on the bottom of your phone and choose what app to share the picture on. For example , telegram saved messages. After that I can just save the picture on the telegram app.
I'm using oppo A3 pro

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a free Android app (or any free solution) with these requirements:
Basically, I want the phone to work only with a small whitelist of contacts for both incoming and outgoing calls.
Does such an app exist? If you've personally used one, I'd really appreciate the recommendation.
Thanks!

Does anyone else feel like every major app out there has a solid alternative, but for some reason, Truecaller just doesn't have a real, proper competitor?
The sheer volume of ads lately is just insane. There’s an ad on the homescreen, on the contact details screen, literally right below the incoming call notification, and then another one on the after-call pop-up. It’s getting unbearable.
The problem is, I’ve gotten so used to having a Caller ID over the years that I can’t bring myself to just uninstall it. At the same time, paying for Premium just isn't in my budget right now.
The biggest irony here? They built this massive empire by harvesting our contact data to grow their database, and now they have the audacity to limit features and hide that very data behind a paywall and aggressive ads.
So, my questions for this sub are:
Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

I recently moved back to Android this March but my whole workflow is tied up on Mac and iPad plus Windows for homelabbing. I used to use jump desktop on iPhone so I figured it's cross platform the switch will be painless.
At the time I thought jump would work but I didn't know they removed their app and only the Web portal was available to Android users.
Well imagine my surprise when I did research today and saw an update on their forum, it's back in the play store. As a beta, right now but I tested it on both my machines and the worked!

I'm trying to sign in as less as possible, I already got Google, and using MS official Word/Excel/PowerPoint apps force me to sign in first.
I'm looking for something that can at least support some minimal editing (like typo fixing or small formula tweaks) and display as print preview.

So.. I'm looking for a tasks/to-do app which features categories of tasks and supports custom interval reminders so I can stay on track with my life and not get distracted while getting notified.
I do not mind paying a small $4 AUD - $6 AUD monthly paywall.
In short:
- I'm looking for an app which is a tasks app and can organise tasks into categories
- It supports interval notifications (eg. every 20 min per set time/set day etc..)
- Able to run on MacOS & Android (if theres no macos app idrm but preferred)
- Do not mind paying a small fee for the app
- Just a nice, simple app which is easy to use
I know this post might seem stupid but I've been looking for hours and haven't come across an app like this so if anyone knows an app like this please let me know ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Thank you 🥺🧡

I have to have an app to attach pictures and pin notification area.
Currently I am having three kinds of app for these things. So is there any app I can combine and do it?
especially I don't want to pay so is there any better alternative for this?
