Alexa keeps showing unknow devices for alarms and toutines aren't working either Is it an alexa issue?

Got a Yale smart lock (the Matter version) and trying to figure out if there's a way to get it working with my Echo devices without setting it up directly in the Alexa app (Alexa's missing some features I need for this specific lock, like creating door codes).

I read that Samsung and Amazon teamed up back in 2022 so a device set up in SmartThings automatically shows up in Alexa too, no extra setup needed. Has anyone actually tried this with a lock and had it work? Specifically curious if:

• Your Echos actually picked up the lock without you manually adding it in Alexa
• You could still say "Alexa, lock the front door" and have it work
• Any hiccups or things that didn't carry over

Trying to figure out if I need one new hub (SmartThings) or two (SmartThings + a separate Alexa setup) before I buy anything. Thanks!

Found an 4th generation echo on clearance from a local retailer and was wondering if it supports tap feature, like the 5th generation dot

Someone bought me the Mickey Mouse Echo wall clock awhile ago and discovered it while moving. I am attempting to connect to it, but the only options for Clock are Lenovo and Hatch. When I choose other and Bluetooth, it just seems to time out and never connect. Does anyone know of a trick to get it to connect in 2026?

Same room
Reset/removed from Alexa system twice.
Trying to create a pair in my son’s room for cheap projector with fire tv 4k max, 1st gen).

Pulling what’s left of me hair.

Alexa works fine, every fire tv, Sonos, hue lamps… everything is fine (except Alexa+ who is quite slow in French).

Spent hours on this. What is weird is I could pair echo dot x (4th gen, other room) with either one of dot y and z in son’s room but I can’t get them to pair together!!!

I recently purchased this brand-new Echo second-generation wooden speaker from eBay. However, when my phpne was searching for the speaker my iPhone couldn’t pick it up. I’m in need of assistance in activating the speaker. If anyone has any knowledge or guidance on how to proceed, please let me know.

Honestly I still love its sound, even though later Echos (which I also own) have more bass. Gen 1 just has a clearer, more balanced tone IMO…🤷🏾‍♂️

Does Amazon still not play nicely with Spotify Premium? I tell my echo to "Play my playlist My favorites on Spotify" but it can't find it. I have unlinked and linked a lot..

My old Amazon echo lost connection and entered setup mode. I've reset it and removed it from the devices in Amazon.

I can get it into setup mode and connect to its WiFi (for some reason Bluetooth doesn't work) when prompted for the WiFi details, I enter the valid network name and password. It then fails and tells me the details are incorrect. The echo then announces "sorry this device isn't registered"

I cannot seem to get it to reconnect to the network and it's no longer shown in my device history. What am I missing? Is it just effectively dead?

I’m seeing a strange issue with Alexa + IKEA DIRIGERA over Matter and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
Setup:
IKEA DIRIGERA Hub (FW 2.975.2)
~28 IKEA devices
Echo Show 15, Show 8, Show 5, Echo Dot with Clock, 2× Echo Dot Kids, Echo Flex
Apple Home and Google Home are connected to the same DIRIGERA Hub
Problem:
Every few hours or days, Alexa changes the DIRIGERA Matter Bridge to another Echo device (“Connected via”).
For example:
Echo Show 5
Echo Show 15
Echo Dot with Clock
Each time this happens, all Alexa room/group assignments for the IKEA devices are lost, as if Alexa recreated every device.
What’s interesting:
Apple Home remains completely stable.
Google Home remains completely stable.
Only Alexa is affected.
One additional observation:
The Echo Dot with Clock has its internet access blocked on a schedule via the FRITZ!Box parental controls (local network access remains available). This might trigger Alexa to move the Matter controller, but even then I wouldn’t expect Alexa to lose all room assignments.
Has anyone else seen this?
Is this a known Alexa Matter bug, or is there a way to keep the Matter Bridge assigned to a single Echo?

This is not another complaint about Alexa+ Follow-up Mode. I actually like Follow-up Mode.

My issue isn't the feature. It's one tiny interaction detail that changes the rhythm of every conversation.

For more than a decade, millions of Echo devices have become part of everyday life and during all those years, Alexa trained us that her acknowledgment beep meant exactly one thing:

"It's your turn to speak."

The interaction became second nature to us:

"Alexa." → Beep → I speak.

That sound became a deeply ingrained conversational cue.

With Alexa+, after Alexa finishes answering, she plays the exact same acknowledgment beep again, but now it has a completely different meaning:

"I'm still listening if you'd like to continue."

Those are two different conversational states using the same sound.

What happens to me is this:

• Alexa finishes answering my question.
• Naturally, I begin thinking about my follow-up and often start speaking.
• Then... beep.

The second beep frequently arrives just as I'm beginning my response. Instead of helping, it interrupts my train of thought because my brain has spent years associating that sound with the beginning of my speaking turn, not the middle of it.

I don't think this is an audio problem. I think it's a semantics problem.

Amazon didn't just add a new sound -- it reassigned the meaning of the sound users had already spent years learning.

To me, the better solution isn't to remove Follow-up Mode.

It's to communicate Alexa's conversational state visually instead of with another audio cue.

Imagine it working like this:

• Wake word: acknowledgment beep and steady listening light.
• While Alexa is speaking: the light pulses, just as it already does.
• When Alexa finishes: the pulsing stops, but the light remains illuminated for a few seconds to show that Alexa is still listening.
• If I continue talking, the conversation naturally continues.
• If I don't, the light returns to its normal idle state.

No second beep -- the light already tells me she's listening.

That feels much closer to how people naturally converse. Humans don't announce, "Your turn." They simply stop talking, and the other person begins.

I think Alexa+ is a huge improvement overall, and this is a surprisingly small UX change that could make it feel even more natural.

I'm curious, does anyone else feel that this unexpected beep should be removed during Alexa's conversational exchanges?

Is it really the beep that feels wrong or is it that Amazon changed the meaning of one of the most familiar sounds in the Alexa experience after more than a decade of conditioning?

Edit: I should add that I'm not asking Amazon to remove Follow-up Mode. I like it. My suggestion is simply to preserve the original meaning of the acknowledgment beep and let the Echo's light ring communicate that Alexa is still listening. I think that would make the conversation feel much more natural.

I've bought my daughter 2 echo 5 show's I believe is the number. And hers always displays the wrong time until you ask it something and then it may update but has anyone else experienced this and fixed it? All settings seem correct for our time zone.

I guess I didn’t do enough research but not having a wallpaper feature just wasn’t on my Bingo card. Unbelievable! The curated nature photos are great for the 2 mins they rotate. I’m returning it and going back to my echo 5 what a disappointment

I’m genuinely being dramatic about this but a week or so ago my echo show 15 displayed this blue clock screen instead of the black clock screen I had previously. I’ve tried using a black photo as a screen saver but it reverts quickly. I’m honestly about to throw it away because it’s so ugly to me to see in my kitchen. Does anyone know how to fix this or is it apart of a system upgrade and I’m stuck with it?

I honestly think my Echo has developed selective hearing. I’ve noticed that some days she works fine, but other days, I literally have to shout at her whenever I ask her to do anything. I swear this seems to have just happened overnight too.

Does anybody else have this issue? Please tell me I’m not the only one who has to brace for an argument with my smart speaker just to turn my lights on 😩🤣

Does anyone use the Alexa Hub with their Ring Alarm System? If so, does it make you disarm it by voice only or will it pop up with a keypad for you to type in your code? That is what is holding me back from getting one right now. I want a keypad to pop up. lol.

Has anybody ever experienced a rebooting issue before on the Echo Show 11? My device gets into this state where it constantly reboots and plays a sound, even when it's in do not disturb mode! If I unplug the device for a few minutes and reboot, it will be OK initially but start again within a few hours.

I contacted support last month and they sent me a new device, but now the new one is doing the same exact thing. Has anybody seen this or had luck resolving the issue?

I lost my iPhone 15 and now have an iPhone 16. Prior to this new phone, I could ask Alexa to call my phone so I could hear it ringing in the house. But now I can’t… it goes right to voicemail. I’ve called Apple, Cricket, Amazon and Amazon Alexa and performed multiple suggestions, but nothing.
Anyone?

I recently got an Echo Spot and have been using it to listen to brown noise to fall asleep.

I hated how the screen stayed on all night long on the Amazon Music screen instead of going back to the clock, and also hated how Alexa would yell super loud at night after I asked for brown noise “PLAYING BROWN NOISE FROM ALEXA AMBIENT SOUNDS, PLAYING IN MY ROOM”. (Yes I know I can whisper to it but then the brown noise volume decreases and I had to constantly increase the volume.)

I asked Alexa in the app:

“Set up a sleep routine for when I say “Let’s sleep” that plays brown noise from Alexa Ambient Sounds, and then return to the Home Screen”

Now when I say “Alexa, let’s sleep”, it automatically plays brown noise at my current set volume and returns to the Home Screen. It also doesn’t respond to me saying “OKAY, PLAYING YOUR SLEEP ROUTINE” super loud. It simply just plays the brown noise and goes back to the Home Screen with the clock.

Been a game changer for me and hope it can help someone else!
