Idk if this is reheating out of date soup, but I’m rewatching adventure time after a couple years and Jake suit is genuinely off putting.
First of the concept of the Jake suit alone is kinda disturbing, and Finns willingness to steal Jake’s autonomy is…odd, also just the way it looks.
But also Finns characterisation is really really weird and off putting, I know Finn is supposed to be kinda arrogant and bratty, but damn this is like, borderline villainous, like blatantly disregarding your closest friend and really only relatives feelings, like actively going against them.

I’d like to hear what you all think, or if I’m just being weird, it certainly feels like one of those “it’s a kids show, let’s just do whatever the hell we want” type of episodes.

Yes I know that all 3 have the same voice actor - John DiMaggio. But the 3 of them have different pitches and tones, I still think of Jake. You can basically switch voicelines with each other and it'll still work. Except when they mention Dom or Rath.

So i watched this show when it was on air. But I never really watch watched it. So recently, right as the last episode of Fiona and Cake released, I decided to rewatch... everything. Including distant lands (which im currently watching).

Some pointers. THE AMOUNT OF FORSHADOWING IS INSANE!!!! If i was watching this for the first time at my current age I would have been so confused as to why every single variation of Fin lost his arm. Like you could tell from earlier seasons that he was gonna loose his arm at some point.

And theres so much unexplained lore. Like I was so confused as to why the Ice King got a random red laser to the forehead until it was revealed in Fiona and Cake. Like it makes me think that they had all these series planned.

I also remember the ending to thr original series being different but I was a lot younger when it happened so... memories am I right?

Anyways I love adventure time and am gonna finish distant lands and then watch the new series that is currently coming out.

This may be a weird question to ask, but it is something I was wondering.

The Finn sword came into existence when Finn still had his grass arm, and so that would mean that Sword Finn should also have a grass arm too, right? Or does Sword Finn just inexplicably have his real arm back.
