What kind of oil do you put in your pocket rockets, and what difference does it have to your cars? I’ve been driving mine for 6 months now (not a daily driver) and it’s time for the first oil change, but I have no idea what kind of oil should I put. Thanks to everyone in advance. (Sorry for my bad english, not my first language) Drive safe!

We already test drive it and it was very smooth and we didn't see anything wrong with it, at least for our "non professional" eyes. We tried to negotiate but they only took off like few hundred bucks. We didn't know what to negotiate more so I'm posting here for people who had abarths. Please help me! I really like it, done my research but not sure what to look into it more to get a better pricing.

I am reading oil temps as high as 300F in this 90-100 summer heat whilst going 80 on the freeway.

Water temps stay comfortable at 170-200 under the same conditions.

300F oil temps normal? Should I be concerned?

FYI: A water pump and thermostat are on the to-do list for I am reaching 100k miles soon.

Isn't the collar supposed to be concentric? it's offset to the top right for some reason. I dropped my transmission since for about a week it was really hard not to grind in reverse thinking it was the slave/master cylinder, but none of them are leaking and look completely fine.

When driving in 3rd or 4th gear i willfeel the pedal move(vibrate abit) then it wouldnt accelerate fast after, i have to pull over turn it off then back on and it works proper after. Any idea?

I'm looking into buying an Abarth 124 Spider, but I can't help but wonder if it would be a disturbance to neighbours, as I need to get out for work at 7am. I'd try to be as considerate as possible, and it wouldn't take me long to leave the residential area, but I'd rather save my family from receiving noise complaints if it's going to do that and I'll go for the Fiat version instead.

He everybody. I‘m looking to upgrade my uconnect 7 for something better since i‘ve upgraded my speakers recently. On google I‘m not really finding something interesting which would fit. Do you uave recommendations? Maybe with links?

Need to change battery on gf 2017 595 Abarth, which is simple enough. Just wonder what to expect after what will need to be reset? If it’s just time, radio etc that fine anything else concerns me a little.

I'm at an impasse and could use some input from fellow owners.

When I picked up my 2016 500 Abarth a couple months ago I knew it might be more maintenance intensive than other cars I've owned, but I also heard that the engine and drive train are pretty rock solid. And today I just blew the turbo (and hopefully not more than that.) I don't know what my next steps are, really, and would love some input.

In my 2 months of ownership I've already needed to:

• Replace the brake tube after the brakes lost pressure 3 weeks in.
• Replace the wheel bearings, bushings, struts, and tires.
• Now I'm about to have to replace the turbo as well.

Its a 2016 with 79,000 miles. I've already sunk $3,300 into it and will need to sink another $2,500 in to replace the blown turbo. That's nearly 6 grand in just over 2 months of ownership. Its a little nauseating to think about - but it was only $10,000 to purchase. So from a smiles-per-dollar standpoint its a fantastic bargain, and still what I'd consider a solid deal AFTER factoring in the repairs. The issue is the uncertainty. If I keep having problems this frequently it might not be worth it in the end.

I've been driving it pretty hard, I'm not gonna lie. Revving it out, zipping around, I probably gave it too much throttle before downshifting today which blew the turbo - but I also hear that the turbos DO need replacing after enough miles/years.

To what extent is this "normal" wear and tear and at what point is this entire car a red flag lemon on four wheels? The brake tube, wheel bearings, bushings, struts, and tires - while a lot to all replace at once - strike me as routine maintenance: not a red flag. The blown turbo sucks - I won't know the full extent of the damage until Monday but am reasonably optimistic (it still turns over and runs smooth, but belches white smoke and leaks oil from the exhaust - I'm obviously not driving it: but there is no clanking, shuttering, or grinding, and the dipstick shows that it still has some oil - so no oil starvation, either.) A bit of Googling shows that usually the turbos need to be replaced every 90,000 to 125,000 miles. At 78,000 miles its still pretty early for that...so SORT OF expected wear? Or does this scream that this car is a lemon?

It only had one previous owner, and the maintenance records, while not extensive, appeared to be clean. But there WERE some mods, which can be a red flag, including wheels, coil overs, and a straight pipe. Still, I fell in love with this car instantly and pulled the trigger on it because the price was frankly very good.

I ADORE this car! I want to keep it! And I'm willing to put a bit more money into it if it stays reliable. My finances are in a decent spot (not a ton of savings but I earn a six figure income in a LCOL area and have no major debts or expenses outside of rent and normal bills) but not so much so that I can pour a few grand into this thing every single month.

This doesn't bode well - but I've owned lots of enthusiast cars and I've adored none of them near as much or near as instantly as this Abarth. I can't think of anything I could replace it with that ticks the same boxes (reasonably priced, tall driver friendly, light and chuckable, fun, and easy to get in and out of.) The responsible adult in me wants to listen to my family telling me to drop this car like a hot potato.

But some of this is pretty regular wear and tear...right? And if the engine is fine, even with a blown turbo, that doesn't mean its a total loss or lemon...right? Or is this all cope?

Where can I find and buy (Europe) this gear knob that doesn’t cost a fortune?

I have an Abarth 595 Turismo, production year 2020 and I have a standard aluminum knob, but it is pretty badly scratched.

EDIT: can I fix those scratches somehow?

I'm looking for OEM or replacement bolts (US 13') that mount the sway bar to the sub frame. Appears a previous shop who did work never reinstalled them. Sway bar is connected to the linkage on both ends.
This is causing the sway bar to clunk when hitting bumps.

I bought my 595 competizione back in january but immediatly spotted the exhaust wasn't right

Terrible rattling at 2k rpm, turns out the baffles were knackared.

dealership wouldn't replace with a genuine part but offered a custom made but to stock specs instead.

except now I've picked it up it's only a dual exit exhaust not a quad and sounds frankly a bit flat.

Am I being a demanding tit or should I got back to the dealer for the right one?

Hello! Just finished doing the timing belt, tensioner, water pump and multiair filter on my (US) '13 Abarth 500. I forgot to get a pic but when I pulled the filter out of the head, the O ring was slid up the filter body right below the opening for the filter element. It had worn it's own little groove in the filter body. Anybody ever came across this? To my knowledge, everything on my car is OEM and never been replaced. Would this cause any sort of issues? Belt looked pretty good for it's age. Filter had just a tiny bit of stuff in it. Nothing I'd lose sleep over.

I’m considering buying a newer Abarth 595/695 (2020+). I’ve always heard the headroom is quite tight, especially with a sunroof and the wrong seats. I’m 192 cm, 101 kg with relatively good proportions for my height 😉🇳🇴, is there any hope for me owning an Abarth, and which specification would you recommend for maximum headroom/space?
