Technology YSK: If a website says your email is already in use use the password reset option instead of creating another account.

Why YSK: A lot of people assume they never made an account and end up creating a second one with another email that can split purchases, subscriptions or saved data across multiple accounts. I ran into this a few days ago while I was on my laptop I wanted to sign up for a service I hadn't used in years it kept saying my email already existed and I was about to register with a different address before trying the password reset option.

It turned out I had made the account years ago and completely forgot about it everything I'd previously saved was still there. Trying a password reset first can save you from managing multiple accounts losing access to old purchases or confusing yourself later so it's a small step that can save a lot of hassle.

Why would you assume you'd never made an account if it says your email is already is use? The site is literally telling you that you already have an account

“And then I came up with the idea that my email may already be in use!”

Virtually all of them will tell you “if you have forgotten your password, please click here to reset it.”

We must be living in a simulation. How do people need to be taught this?

If you are this stupid you should not be on the internet buying things.

Is this an AI post?

YSK: reading what a website says about your account could be a clue about your account.

This ranks right up there with that YSK telling people that if the low fuel indicator and their vehicle is turned on that they should start looking for a gas station. :/

Nah man, no way you're that stupid, nobody is stupid enough to not realize that if the website says your email is already in use it might be already in use
