Whats one thing about yoga that no one told you before you started

I've only been practicing for about a month and i have already realised yoga is a lot more challenging than i expected.Balance, breathing and even staying patient are harder than the stretches themselves. What's something you wish you would have known when you first started.

"¿Me puedes guardar plaza?"

Hi everyone. I want to build fitness routine which will keep me in good shape and also beneficial for overall health. What I am going to do. Monday, Wednesday and Friday yoga classes with trainer and it is like not easy classes. Tuesday and Thursday full body strength training in gym also with trainer. Sunday is for badminton, just because I like it and to add some cardio. How do you think it is good routine or I should change yoga for something else?

Abnormal popping?

I’m a beginner to yoga and I’m also a chubbier person so I can’t do everything that the instructor can. I was watching a 20 minute Yoga Workout and I tried my best to follow the instructor, which eventually led to me hearing and feeling popping in my lower stomach/pelvic region. It happened once and it didn’t hurt, it just surprised me.

Is this common/normal? If not, what can I do to prevent this in the future?
Thank you!

Is it okay to take a break during yoga sessions?

I am following begginer level yoga videos and somtimes i need to pause for few minutes because i loose my balance. Part of me feels like i should be able to keep up but i also dont want to push too hard and end up quitting. Is it okay to take break in between or its better to keep going even if poses are not perfect.

What I taught in my 60-minute Strength & Heat-Building Yoga Class today 🔥🧘‍♀️

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Every yoga class I teach has an intention, and today's focus was creating strength before flexibility.

We began by gently mobilising the spine, neck and shoulders to release stiffness and improve posture. From there, we activated the deep core, back muscles and hips to prepare the body for weight-bearing movements.

As the class progressed, we built heat through dynamic transitions, upper body strength, standing balances and powerful leg work. The standing sequence challenged stability while strengthening the glutes, quads, hamstrings, shoulders and core, all while maintaining healthy spinal alignment.

Finally, we slowed things down with back-strengthening poses and restorative twists to release tension, improve spinal mobility and help the body recover.

A well-sequenced yoga class isn't about doing the hardest poses. It's about preparing the body step by step so every movement feels stronger, safer and more intentional.

✨ If you're a yoga teacher, save this for sequencing inspiration.

✨ If you're a student, save it for your next practice and see if you can spot how the class gradually builds from mobility to strength to restoration.
