Do I need to take my electronics out?

Haven’t flown from yyz since 2018, I saw they got updated security machines and I was just wondering if I still need to take my laptop and iPad out of my carry on bags at security or if the machines are advanced enough that I don’t need to. If I do need to take them out can they both go in the same bin beside eachother or do they have to be in separate bins?

Thanks in advance :)

$500 Reward — Help Needed Locating Lost Bag at YYZ Terminal 1

Hi everyone,

One of our checked bags was left behind at Toronto Pearson Airport, Terminal 1, while we travelled to Warsaw. We have already filed a Property Irregularity Report and have the PIR number. The bag also contains an AirTag, so we can still see its approximate location in Terminal 1.

We are in Poland for a dance festival, and the bag contains costumes needed for the event. Yes, we know not to place irreplaceable items in checked luggage, but we could not fit all of the costumes within the allowable carry-on baggage limits.

The bag was checked through WestJet and LOT Polish Airlines. We would greatly appreciate any assistance or escalation from either airline in locating the bag and moving it into the official delayed-baggage process so it can be forwarded to us in Warsaw.

I am also looking for someone who works at YYZ, is travelling through Terminal 1, or has a legitimate airport contact who may be able to help locate the bag and get it to the official airline baggage services or lost baggage area.

I am not asking anyone to remove the bag from the airport or take it through security. We only need help getting it into the hands of the appropriate airline or airport baggage staff.

I can provide the PIR number, baggage-tag information, bag description, AirTag location screenshots, flight details, and proof of ownership privately.

We are offering a $500 reward to anyone who can genuinely help locate the bag and get it to the proper baggage services team.

Please send me a direct message if you may be able to assist. Thank you.

YYZ should be embarrassed

Landed at 5:30, it's now 8:00 and we still haven't seen our luggage. There's been no communication, 0 updates and about 70 of us still waiting. This is a fucking embarrassment. Every time we ask someone what's going on they wave it away "that's not my job". 2.5 hours of standing around after travelling for 17 hours. Come on YYZ, do better

Has anyone heard back from WestJet CSA YYZ yet?

Hello everyone, I completed my HireVue interview for the WestJet CSA (YYZ) position on May 18 and I’m wondering if anyone has received any feedback or updates yet.

Thank you! :)

What is going on with luggage @ Pearson? Must watch this video.

I travel often through Pearson and believe it is an awesome and worldclass airport. HKG is a popular destination for us but this video has us quite concerned.

Did anyone see the madness that was the domestic security line today???? Wow. Almost missed my flight. My friends had to thrust their way through the priority line…

Are YYZ express and/or mobile mobile passport control still operating at Pearson

I’m heading from YYZ to YVR next week and curious if I can take advantage of YYZ express, or if these are still a thing…
Either way, looking for tips to make it through the line quickly (No Nexus)

Arrived at Gate 527

I just arrived on a Lufthansa flight and we got Gate 527, that's a remote gate building, but on the bus back to T1, I saw two available gates, any reason why they would put us out there?

How Toronto airport YYZ handles your luggage

Just a glimpse of how YYZ handles the checked in baggage. It was lying on the road for a long time and a bunch of airport vehicles went around it and finally the cart showed up to pick the bag up and looking at the way he put it, it’s going to fall down the very next minute. If you are reading this and your name is Joseph Francis- I pray your bag reaches you safely.

What is going on at YYZ on Friday, March 20?

My plane first diverted to Windsor to refuel. We landed at YYZ 75 minutes ago (11:30AM) and we’ve since been waiting for a gate. Pilots have zero updates.

Anyone on the ground with more information?

YYZ T1 Plaza Premium Lounge Transborder

How does the YYZ T1 Plaza Premium Lounge Transborder work when it is located near the gates (F53/F55) that swing between domestic and Transborder modes. What happens to the lounge when these gates are used for domestic flights as D53/D55?

Anyone know if there’s one of those foreign currency donation bins in T1? Have some random currency mostly in coins. Would like to see it go to a good cause.

Flying Aer Lingus, YYZ-DUB

Just flew Aer Lingus from Toronto–Pearson to Dublin on their A330-200 and thought I’d share a quick rundown. This was a same-day connection from a Flair Airlines JFK–YYZ flight, so I was already at Pearson. The transit corridor spits you back out into the main terminal landside, so I needed to clear security again.

Aircraft: Airbus A330-200 (EI-GEY)

Cabin: Economy

Load Factor: Seemed around 65-70%

Flight Time: 6 hours, 10 minutes

Cost: 13,000 Avios + £111.70 (Taxes/Fees) compared to a cash cost of £609.00.

The cabin is showing its age — think older-generation seats and IFE screens that aren’t the largest or sharpest. That said, everything was clean, and the IFE worked fine for the 6h+ crossing. The seats offered decent comfort for economy, with enough pitch to avoid feeling too cramped, and I lucked out with a row of 4 all to myself - stay tuned for an economy semi-lie-flat bed!

The real highlight was the crew. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming in that Irish way — small touches like checking in mid-flight and quick responses to requests made a big difference. Catering was standard transatlantic fare, nothing gourmet, but hot and tasty enough.

All in all, Aer Lingus might not be flashy, but they deliver a solid and reliable product for the price point. If you value friendly service over cutting-edge cabin design, they’re still a strong contender across the Atlantic.

Anyone else flown Aer Lingus recently on the A330? Curious if the A321LR experience feels more up-to-date? Let me know!

Flying Flair Airlines, from JFK-YYZ

Thumbnail youtu.be

Just flew Flair Airlines from New York (JFK) to Toronto Pearson (YYZ) aboard their Boeing 737 MAX 8 and wanted to share my experience for anyone considering this ULCC option on a trans-border hop.

The flight itself was decent — a no-frills, budget-friendly ride that got me there safely. We departed with a 45-minute delay, but once airborne, the flight was smooth. Legroom is tight (as expected), but if you’re not too tall, it’s manageable for the short sector.

Check-in was probably the most frustrating part. The website is a bit clunky and slow, and you really feel the ULCC model kick in when it comes to added fees. I paid for the Basic Bundle, which includes a personal item, 10kg carry-on, and a 23kg checked bag. It’s a sensible option if you don’t want to get caught out at the airport (Flair’s fee structure is very Ryanair-esque).

Despite its quirks, Flair delivered what it promised — a low-cost, direct flight between two major cities without too much drama. For £179.81 one-way, including extras, it’s competitive when booked right.

Route: JFK–YYZ

Aircraft: Boeing 737 MAX 8 (C-FLKO)

Cabin: Economy (Basic Bundle)

Flight Time: 1 hour, 1 minute

Cost: £179.81 one-way

Happy to answer any questions if you’re thinking of trying Flair on this or any other route. You can also check out the full video review here if you’re curious:

Safe travels!
