Discussion Given that a potential federal indictment is coming against Phil Weiser soon, would Democrats have had a better shot at winning if they nominated Michael Bennet to run against Victor Marx instead?

Opinion The Rhode Island Governor primary is depressing
so Dan McKee, lifelong Democrat, has done a lot of good things, he's supported gun control, expanded legal access for sex abuse victims, put a 3-year moratorium on new charter schools, built a bunch of houses he did a lot of good stuff, a true Democrat...
then, Helena Foulkes, a fucking Rich corporate executive and former CEO of HBC, a company that literally went bankrupt after several hundred years of operation 5 years after she left, she's never supported Democrats before 2022, never been active in politics before in general, and has very shallow positions....
and she is fucking trouncing him in the primary.
WHY ARE WE DETERMINED TO DIE!?
we see a successful Democratic governor and we immediately swerve to kill them and replace them with John DINO, because God fucking forbid we do anything but apologize for our own existence, why is this our party now?
Former Republicans are running as Democrats, Democratic Governors are covering their faces to work with Trump because they want to run in 2028 without acknowledging the fact they're dinos, And when we do get a candidate that is actually proud to be a Democrat in Gavin Newsom, we immediately call him the devil and say we don't want him anywhere near the presidency we only want people who are ashamed of their party, we want people who literally can't even call themselves Democrats.
Romney/liz cheney 2028 for the Dems everyone, buckle up.

Opinion I think a modernized George Wallace would be an electoral Giant
Obviously not the segregation stuff but the anti corporate streak along with free market policy would be popular economically speaking.
His stances on welfare would be widely popular.
And lastly America is a conservative nation at its core so socially conservative Canidates will almost always play better this type of patriotic firebrand I think would do well.

Discussion Could charges against Phil Weiser be the final push for a Marxist victory in Colorado?
according to a Colorado state legislator, the federal govt is looking to charge Colorado AG Phil weiser with treason around “mid summer”. if he is found guilty, could this push the race to the GOP? imo it’s already somewhat competitive but weiser is currently being carried by the environment

Discussion Is there anything counties won by Nikki Haley in the 2024 GOP Primaries have in common?
Make sure to see this image for reference. Haley won at least one county in 8 states that I can see plus Washington, D.C. of course. What do you think?

Alternate What if Mike DeWine lost renomination in 2022? What would happen in the concurrent senate election?
In the 2018 Ohio gubernatorial election, Attorney General Mike DeWine beat former attorney general Richard Cordoray by <4%, which was considered a “minor upset”. In 2022, DeWine won reelection by 25% (most OH Republican governors win reelection by landslide), and the other statewide executive republicans won by over 17%.
However, DeWine faced primary challengers in 2022, who seemed to challenge him because they thought he was not conservative enough or not MAGA enough. While DeWine won, he won with a 48% plurality, so it’s possible he could’ve lost if all the opponents rallied behind 1 candidate. If DeWine lost, how would have the election played out?
More importantly, what would have happened to Tim Ryan?
While he lost, he lost by only 6%, overperforming every other Democrat. Political polarization (no question) helped him lose to Vance.

Discussion Why are people in this sub claiming that the Arizona Gubernatorial race isn’t gonna be competitive?
The Arizona GOP has made a lot of party improvements since their 2022 flop and Katie Hobbs isn’t exactly known for anything good in the state. She’s pretty much invisible

Discussion Where is election discourse at it’s best and worst?
we can complain a lot about vitriol on this subreddit, but its nothing compared to election twitter. People also make far better argumentation here. Is there anywhere else where election discourse is particularly better or worse?

Discussion What do you think JD Vance’s chances are in the 2028 GOP Primary?
These past few weeks he’s been trying to distance himself from the Iran War and Trump. Can he actually do it? I’m of the opinion he’s cooked regardless but I would like you hear y’all’s input. He’s playing a dangerous game by contradicting Trump so openly.
