We will feel the impact from Trump’s two terms for literally longer than any president since Lincoln. Unfortunately, Trump’s impacts will be almost wholly negative. A positive is that he demonstrated the holes and weaknesses of our government’s intended power balance.

Worse than that: It created a crisis of mentally ill people being left homeless, without resources, spending years, if not decades, on the streets, and we now spend outrageous sums of money to house them with support staff that live in abject poverty. Clinton actually deregulated more than Reagan and effectively dismantled key parts of the Glass Steagall separation between commercial banking, investment banking and insurance.

D’s have been in power for 20 years of the 26 since Reagan left office and a super majority during Obama’s term. Seems like they had ability to do what they wanted.
Literally every bill Reagan signed into law was passed by Tip O'Neil's Democrat congress. His policies were left in place and continued to be carried out by Clinton, Obama, and Biden. As a senator in the 80s, Biden voted with Reagan on a regular basis.
