You asked, so I added them: Wirral events on the site have doubled

A few days ago I posted here about the free events site I built for Wirral and Liverpool, and the suggestions I got back were brilliant. Future Yard, New Brighton, Claremont Farm, Port Sunlight, the Floral Pavilion, the Gladstone, the Little Theatre, parkruns, even pub events like Glastonferry.

I’ve worked through them, and I’m now pulling from more Wirral venues and platforms. There are almost 200 Wirral events on there over the next 90 days, up from just under 100 before this thread. That’s entirely down to you lot.

To see just Wirral: open Filters and set the area to Wirral.

Someone also flagged wrong start times and a cancelled event still showing. Both fixed, times now show correctly or “TBC” where the source doesn’t give one, and cancelled events are marked.

Still very open to feedback, and thanks again to everyone who suggested venues and helped me debug.

The courts handed him a suspended sentence for beating a poor dog to death for having an accident on his floor. No wonder he is smiling.

I built a free site that lists everything happening across Wirral and Liverpool each weekend

Moved to Merseyside a few years ago knowing absolutely nobody, and actually lived on the Wirral for a bit when I first arrived. Spent months googling and scrolling trying to figure out what was going on, and eventually realised the problem: there’s loads happening every weekend, it’s just scattered across dozens of organisers’ pages, so you miss most of it.

So I built a fix, a free site that pulls events from across Wirral and Liverpool into one place. Future Yard, New Brighton, Birkenhead and everything over the water included, not just the Liverpool side. If you drop your email on it, every Thursday you get a curated list of the weekend’s best events. Free, no ads.

Shared it on r/Liverpool a few days ago and a few hundred people signed up, including lifelong locals saying they keep finding things they never knew about.

Honest admission: the Wirral side is the bit I most want to build out. So if there’s a venue or organiser over here that deserves to be on there, name them and I’ll look into it, that’s genuinely the most useful thing this sub could tell me.

Site’s called XploreLiverpool, link in the comments.

Food waste bins given out this week - anyone else getting flies in the house?

We got our food waste bin earlier this week. Started putting food waste in the small bin, but it's attracting flies like mad. Anyone else got this problem?

Also, it said that we've been given a year's worth of bags. I'm on my third bag already since Wednesday (we have pets, so leftover pet food adds to the food waste) Can you get more bags from the council if they run out too early?

ANYONE FOUND ANY LOST KEYS YESTERDAY - BIDSTON ROAD, OXTON?

LOST KEYS!!

Have you found a set of keys on Bidston Road near Birkenhead School/TA area?

Lost Friday 17 July 2026 around 8:30/9:00PM.

Large set of keys with 2 different car keys.

We live local to where they have been lost and can describe them in detail to verify.

We believe they may have been found as someone had been knocking around some local apartments but left no contact details.

If this was you or you know who has found them please can you private message the person sharing this post ASAP and comment to say you’ve messaged them and they will contact us.

Thank you!!

Question Remove and prevent Seagulls from roof?

One of our neighbours keeps feeding seagulls, despite us politely asking them not to.

Because of this, the seagulls have taken to our roof as we have a loft conversion (large flat area), and I'm unsure if they have nested or not.

We are now unable to sit in our garden as the seagulls dive at us, and they are regularly crapping on the car.

Anyone know a decent company that could remove them if they've nested, and also fit something to prevent them taking to our roof?

Thanks.

Total fitness prenton

Is it worth the price. I've got 2 kids that i want to get swimming and that seems like the best place but the price puts me off. I've taken them to the council ones but they're always cold and scruffy. I live in prenton so seems the natural place to go, don't want to be going to Bromborough all the time to the everlast gym as its a nightmare up there. Last time I went to total fitness was like 15 years ago

Question Fitness for 40+ male

I desperately need to get back into loosing weight and becoming fitter but I can’t seem to get myself started. I was a frequent gym user and swimmer but the last year I have stopped going.

Does anyone know of anything in the area like walking football or fitness clubs for a middle aged man with low confidence and a bit of a bad knee?

Easy drives to nice picnic spots around the Wirral?

I recently passed my driving test and I’m looking for some nice places around the Wirral (or nearby) to drive to for a picnic with my partner.

I’m still getting used to driving on my own, so I’m after places that are fairly easy to get to without any particularly difficult roads or motorway driving if possible and easy enough parking when we get there.

Ideally somewhere with nice views, somewhere to walk for a bit, or just a peaceful spot to sit and eat. I’m in the Bebington/port sunlight area, so anywhere that isn’t in those areas.

Thanks in advance

Parade fire/Nigel Road in Heswall

There was a guy walking up and down Nigel Road in Heswall on Sunday night shouting- full of expletives - about somebody having a fire and the smell of burning. When my son let him know it was a fire on the marshes he shouted “f*ck off you c*nts!”. Nice person.

Chester station lifts

Anybody know how long the lifts are going to be off? Normally I just jump the Wirral line train, use the lift and then off to Wales.

Unfortunately as the lifts are not working, I'd have to travel to lime street and get the train from there, not only is it more expensive due to the extra journey but time consuming too.

If anyone knows or is travelling to Chester for work or something, could you please let me know?

Thanks

Skating spots in Heswall

I've recently decided to pickup inline skating. However, I just moved in with some family for the summer, and have no clue where a good flat and smooth surface might be. Does anyone have suggestions? It doesn't need to be a skate park - just anywhere smooth about central Heswall. Thank you for any help ❤

Hairdressers - long to short

Hi, does anyone know of any good hairdressers that specialise in short cuts? This will need consultation as it’s someone who has always had long hair who wants to find a short cut that will suit them.
