Ever sinced I learned about modded consoles I always wanted one and now I'm starting my collection with my wii I had so many good memories with this device and I've been watching a lot of modding videos but for starters I wanna ask which of these usb drives are good for modding the wii?

If I have to change sd card,how to put the files on this one on the new one???

I've been wanting to hack my Wii, but I remember reading that the Korean models are more problematic because they can get bricked.

Is there a specific guide for hacking a Korean wii, or should a regular guide be safe?

Whenever i open games like zelda or just dance there is no preview and they don’t load. But other games like wii sports and animal crossing work just fine. I think I’ve tried every single solution i could find. Help pls

Every time I boot up homebrew browser to try to download in on my homebrewed Wii I get this error, Need help Pls. The Error is Read Error -6 occurred.

I have a modded Wii that has been working amazingly for 10 years- loads games off of my external hard drive (let's call it "A") via usb loader gx with no problem.

I am making a modded Wii for my brother. When I plug my external hard drive (A) into my brother's modded Wii, it works perfectly. When I plug a new external harddrive I bought for his Wii (let's call it "B") into his Wii, it behaves strangely.

B can be detected by Nintendont and runs Gamecube games fine, but is not detected by USB loader at all. When I boot USB loader with B plugged into either usb port it presents the "waiting for HDD" with a countdown message.

Because B can be read by Nintendont and not by USB loader, and because A works fine with my brother's Wii, I cant figure out the problem. I am simply copying and pasting the files from A to B, but that isnt working. Do I need to do something else to B to get it ready for USB loader gx?

The external hard drive B is a Samsung T7. Hard drive A is a WD My Passport.

I was looking for external hard drives on Amazon, but many claim to have 1TB for a very low price (which is clearly a false capacity) or other hard drives cost a lot, so thats why i wanna buy a cheap one that is reliable

So this weird bug occured to me recently. Last time my Wii worked just fine. I have the games on a USB stick in WBFS, I know it is not optimal but worked so far. Even more intresting is that I made some wad launchers for some game and if I lauch them from the home screen they work. Also the Gamecube games work but those are on my SD card but I had to use progressive scan for those because my Wii is hooked to an old VGA monitor and it doesn't support many imput method, just 480p 60Hz which supposed to be okey for Wii games. I also reintstalled IOS 249 and 250 according to wiihacksguide but mo difference. I ereased the setting of the USB loader but still nothing. I ran out of ideas what should I try next. I suspect the issue is the monitor or the USB drive.

I'm having a problem with my Dolphin emulator. When I try to replace the \*Mario Kart Wii\* save file with a 100% complete save, everything seems fine; however, when I launch the game and try to use the new save, I get stuck on an infinite black screen. This happens every time I restart the game.

Can you please help me?

Ive tried to get Punchout or Just Dance Unlimited to work on my VWii with USB Loder GX. whenever i try to enter, the console just crashes. a black screen, remote doesnt connect and i have to unplug it. pls help!!

I haven't done anything to the SSD so I'm thinking it might have to do with the settings on usb loader itself. My wii games still show up its just the gamecube games that won't. Anyone have any tips?

so this is probably a dumb question but i recently modded my Wii and figured out how to do all the GameCube and Wii formatted on my hard-drive. only thing that I'm confused on is that i was told that i could theoretically all emulate Gameboy through Wii games, so my question is that is it the same as if i were to download Pokémon fire red onto my modded 3ds or would the file layout look different. I know i can download the emulators through the homebrew browser but I'm afraid of messing up something by doing it the same way i did it with my 3ds

metafortress will stop the game after all the startup movies/sponsors/whatevers, and instead of the title screen you will see "metafortress RESPONSE!" on an ominous black screen, or in some cases, you don't even make it that far. your wii has crashed, and you are forced to hold down the power button.

After what feels like years (about 2 days) of fighting with google and USB loader GX's settings on the wii, i finally got it and bypassed metafortress! and i'm putting this here because of the total lack of this anywhere else (curse the unpopularity!). if anyone out there is pulling their hair out like i was, i hope you find this and it helps!

if the game isn't even showing up at all in USB loader GX, reading this won't help with that. this post is about the scary black anti piracy screen. it's likely the folder structure in your storage medium of choice is wrong, or it's not FAT32.

steps:

make sure you've installed the most recent Cios (custom internal operating systems) via d2x cios installer. it's a bit of a process, but it's worth it. for the smurfs.

after that, go into USB loader GX, and open settings > loader settings. find game IOS, set it to custom, and set it to 249. (leave loader IOS alone. that's what USB loader GX itself uses to my understanding.) (in my experience, setting it to 250 causes a pure black screen crash even sooner than when the anti piracy screen came up. it supposedly works sometimes..? but i don't know.)

after that, disable all patches in that same settings menu. these are the ones i have off (not sure what patch exactly triggers metafortress):

• Sneek Video Patch
• Dol Video Patch
• 480p Video Patch
• Deflicker Filter (Off, safe)

The game should boot fine. wish i knew all that time it was the patches, and not something i did wrong..

I cant find any game. any suggestions?

I downloaded several wii games into my newly modded wii, however when I click "start" on any game the screen turns black. I've even let it sit for 10 mins on the black screen to see if anything would happen and nothing. I need some help on how to make the games playable/ fix them :( Idk how to upload multiple photos, but yes I believe I have the USB in the right port (port 0), it's a sandisk ulta usb 3.0 flash drive 64 GB. Also the game covers arent showing up even though I downloa them. Also the cover for the loaded application isn't showing, it's just a black box with a thing in the middle and when I click into it it brings me to the "insert disk screen", still works though. I'm just giving extra information that may be helpful.

Whenever i go into my SD card menu in my Wii and i try to select one of the games for some reason it says “This can’t be played on this Wii” or somthing like that. Please help me, i used to play these games with my dad all the time and now i cant. i have homebrew on my wii but this has happened before it , maybe there is some type of mod i could get to fix it? idk.

I recently was trying to mod my old wii and I followed a tutorial as best I could but when I try and click USB from the homebrew page I get a dsi error and idk where to even start in fixing that

I’m planning to buy a used Wii. If it’s already hacked but the hack is partially removed—or if I simply want to update it—how should I proceed? If it doesn't come with an SD card, is it possible to restore the hack and update it safely? What if it has a modchip? These might be silly questions, but I don't have much time to learn the ins and outs of this; plus, I once bricked a 3DS, and there's no coming back from that.
