Come on, y'all already know what header is.
The story of Captain America is a simple one. A group of American scientists create a "Super-Soldier Serum" in anticipation of the USA joining the second World War raging in Europe. The first test subject is Private Steve Rogers, a patriotic but sickly young man who is given enhanced strength, speed and intelligence by the Serum. But before more serum can be made, a Nazi spy kills the only scientist who knew the entire formula, leaving Steve the sole beneficiary of the project. Steve is given the identity of Captain America, and acts as a spy-hunter and crime-buster alongside his young pal Bucky Barnes.
Most of Cap's adventures published before his comeback in The Avengers #3 are nebulously canon. Many of the contradict current Marvel canon, and modern comics have heavily implied that many Golden Age comics were in-universe propaganda loosely based on the real exploits of heroes in that era. Thus we've decided to publish this respect thread separately from the Captain America Thread.
This thread was a collaboration with u/kalebsantos
Warning: These 1940s comics can get really, really racist with the depiction of non-white characters.

Doc Brown is a scientist living in Hill Valley. Previously married to science, this changes when he meets the love of his live when he traveled to the wild west. After the events of the movie trilogy, he returned to the present to settle down on a farm with her, his dog Einstein and his two sons. Marty Mcfly is also along for the ride. Every Saterday morning, the whole family still went for wacky adventures trough time.
Oh, so thats what the L stands for s2e2
Key
S1E1: an episode from season 1 or 2 of Back to the Future: The Animated Series.
I'll mark feats from the intros with s1e1 and s2e1.
#1 - #4: issues 1 trough 4 of the Harvey comic
#5 - #7 issues 1 trough 3 of a 3 part miniseries of the Harvey comic
issues 2 trough 4 retell cartoon episodes, while the miniseries and issue 1 cover new events.
The original 3 movies are canon to the cartoon.
The animated series features short life action segments with Doc Brown. These segments do take place during the story of the episode, but will be marked [life action].
These also star Bill Nye the science guy. Just wanted to mention that.
And one more thing, every instance of time travels involves 3 bright flashes so take care if you are sensitive to that.
Character
Emmett is a loving father and husband, and will put his life and lifework on the line to help his family and friends. He tends to use scientific descriptions instead of daily nouns and enjoys all-American passtimes like baseball, TV and eggs and bacon for breakfast. A round of applause for Emmett Brown!

John Delorean is done fucking around, and the true main character of the Back to the Future brand is back and better then ever. Despite being obliterated at the end of the last movie, the Delorean time machine has been rebuild to go anywhere on earth as well as in time. By the truest measurements (my eyeballs), this version can do zero to 88, as well as going aerial from dirt in under 50 meters and under 2 seconds. Buckle into one of its 5 seats for the ride of a lifetime.

This train was briefly introduced at the end of the last movie. Where it is implied to be made using parts from the Sierra Railway 3 (called the Greyhound in universe). That movie concludes with the train flying off into the unknown using (implied) 2015 hover technology. Most extended Back to the Future media does not feature the train that much, but the cartoon and tie-in comic pose it as the long-distance alternative to the Delorean for family trips trough time. Just like the Delorean, it can now go anywhere on earth and time, as well as drive off-road, uhm derailed.

Basics
The closest this gets to a name is the video encyclopedia, which is part of its function. This system opens and closes most episodes by turning on a camera and telling Doctor Brown that it is time for a transmission. This transmission is implied to be the cartoon show as a whole, as Emmett adresses the audience as if they are kids watching from home. It also showcases some basic communication skills. While Season 1 had a life action set, season 2 used a green screen for the life action segments, taking Emmett and this entire system to various places on earth and time. As mentioned one of its important features is showing videos in which Bill Nye does a science experiment you can follow along.
Abilities
Doc has a decent smorgasboard of wacky contraptions. I took care to make sure these where his inventions, and not just stuff he bought. The stuff he probably bought or Jules couldve made isn't very notable. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Respect the Group (Ghost Stories [ADV English Dub])
Many years ago, the late lesbian/exorcist Kayako Miyanoshita banished a large number of ghosts haunting her town. However, recent urban development has disturbed the resting places of these spirits, releasing them back to the human world. It is up to Kayako's daughter and her gang of friends to put these restless spirits back to spiritual sleep.
The spells used to banish ghost are mostly performed as a group effort with Satsuki at the lead. They often require a special item connected to the ghost.
"You know what I hear? I hear the sound of you shutting the fuck up!"
Satsuki is the daughter of Kayako who continues her late mother's work banishing ghosts as well as running the house. She has a tough, no-nonsense, bordering-on-violent personality while also being insecure of her looks.

Watch me set your world on fire
Jinu used to be a street beggar, till he made a deal with Demon King Gwi-Ma for a better life. This act of evil pleased Gwi-Ma so much he kidnapped Jinu, mentally tormented Jinu to the brink of insanity and made him a demon.
For centuries, Gwi-Ma’s demons continuously failed to eliminate the current generation of Demon Hunters. One day, Jinu boldy approached the King and proposed a new strategy: rather than fighting hopeless battles, they should form a rival boy band to draw fans away, thereby undermining the anti-demon-barrier's strength. Gwi-Ma & the rest of the demons initially laugh at this idea, until the Sajas transform into the hottest men alive.
Jinu's plan worked and the demons nearly destroyed humanity, but Jinu would ultimately betray demonkind and sacrifice himself to save the world.

Despite preferring to run away from HUNTR/X and send other demons to do the fighting, the Jeosung Saja proved to be physically equal & much faster than the unamped Demon Hunters.
They have some vague reality-bending powers, but except for teleportation and flight, they either can't use their reality-bending offensively or are too dumb to do so. In a battleboarding discussion, if you keep them in character, they'd arguably fight like teleporting superhumans. But if you buff their battle IQ and bloodlust them, make sure their opponents have an answer to the illusions + soul draining combo.

Argue all you want, Supester, but you know if I hang around Earth long, I’m likely to set off at least four nuclear conflicts. That means you simply have to get me to return to my own dimension. And if you want a shot at that- you gotta dance to the tune I play!
Past the billionaire businessmen, malicious machine-men and alien warlords, there's one Superman rogue that proves time and time again that he's leaps and bounds stronger than the Man of Steel. That villain is none other than Superman's Pest, the Terror from the Fifth Dimension, Mr. Myxzptlk (that’s pronounced Mix-yez-pittle-ik).
As a 5D imp, Mxy hops on down to the lesser Third Dimension to play childish pranks against Metropolis' hero. With amazing powers that allow him to reshape reality with a snap of his fingers, he's always more than a handful for Superman, who typically cannot punch his way through the imp's obstacles. Instead, Superman must use his strongest ability, his mind, to outsmart Mxyzptlk and trick him into saying his tongue-twisting name backwards; the only surefire way to banish him back to the Fifth Dimension for up to ninety days.
He's not trying to conquer Earth, or even really trying to destroy the Kryptonian superhero. He simply wants to play, and Superman is the most entertaining toy that he can think of.
Quickly!! Read the full respect thread backwards to banish the imp back to the Fifth Dimension!
With his 5D powers, the Third Dimension is little more than Mxyzptlk's plaything. He can warp reality and reshape the DC Universe faster than you can pronounce his surname. Because he can do anything (with a small list of exceptions), a straight up fight is kind of tough to imagine him taking part in. Sure, you could put him against Bill Cipher or your other favorite reality warpers, but I find it more interesting to replace Superman with other characters and imagine what would happen if Mxy toyed with them. Just how angry could he make the Hulk in one afternoon? Could he make Mike Ehrmantraut crack a smile? How long would it take for him to get Homelander to cry in public?
His big limit and what makes a Mxyzptlk matchup fun is the "saying his name backwards" rule. While few characters could directly overpower Mxy, there are plenty that can outsmart the child-minded imp. Some of my favorite examples are Woozy Winks tricking Mxy into entering a movie and rewinding the audio, Impulse using some newly-gained 4th wall manipulation to ask the reader to hold the page up to a mirror or Bugs Bunny telling Mxy about this cool new website he should check out. Now, technically speaking, Mxy can always ignore this self-imposed win condition and change the rules halfway through a game, but he's typically not such a sore loser.

Following the collapse of Outer Heaven, the private military company World Marshall, Inc. took its place as the largest PMC on the global stage. CEO and Colorado Senator Steven Armstrong established a shell company, Desperado Enforcement, LLC., to forcibly instigate the war economy. Through Desperado, Armstrong sought to attack developing or recovering nations, keeping them in a state where battle and bloodshed would not cease through any manner of diplomacy or peace deal. The major players of Desperado would be cyborgs whose lives were defined by war themselves, codenamed the Winds of Destruction. The Winds would be scattered in 2018 following fights with an even deadlier cyborg soldier.
Technically speaking, Jetstream Sam is not considered a full member of the Winds of Destruction or affiliated with Desperado even though he’s got a wind based codename. Here is the Jetstream Sam respect thread just because.

To fight any member of the Winds of Destruction, the most important stats to have are speed and skill. Each of them engage in melee combat at ludicrous speeds, and a combatant would need to be around as fast as Raiden to effectively block, dodge or counter their strikes.
Khamsin, chump that he is, would be the weakest member of the Winds. He's a dumb, blunt tool of a fighter, even if his massive chainsaw-axe is an extremely destructive force. Next would probably be Sundowner. His build focuses on strong defense but he's also deceptively fast with his scissor blades. After would be Mistral. She floods the battlefield with a seemingly endless army of Dwarf Gekkos, which she uses as projectiles, grappling enemies or to restore her destroyed polearm. Finally, Monsoon is the strongest of the four Winds. His fight required Raiden to be in Ripper mode the entire time to overcome his evasive segmented body and his potent telekinetic magnetism.
As a team, well, they don't really work as a team. Mistral literally had Khamsin set up and killed by Bladewolf, so they probably don't even like each other. Ironically, they get along with Jetstream Sam, the unofficial fifth Wind, because he's just that cool. Since any kind of teamwork abilities are completely theoretical, it might make sense to use the team as a gauntlet or put them up against similar sized teams so each fighter is in a one vs one.

Before the birth of Christ, before the mission of Saint Patrick, the emerald isle of Ireland ran untamed with gods and heroes. Greatest among them all was Cú Chulainn, the Hound of Ulster. When the scheming Queen Medb of Connacht marched her armies into Ulster to seize the magic bull Donn Cúailnge, all of its defenders were struck helpless by an ancient curse. Well, almost all of its defenders. Thanks to being the demigod son of the divine warrior Lugh, Cú Chulainn was immune, and so set out to beat back Medb's forces. While he may have been outnumbered by the tens of thousands, the young hero was anything but outmatched, waging a brutal one-man war to save his homeland.
This featured character post is an abridged version of the Cú Chulainn analysis featured in my Achilles VS Cú Chulainn blog. If you’re interested in something more comprehensive (maybe a little too comprehensive) that covers his full history, training, arsenal, and allies, check that out. Also, here's a Source List you can reference for all the historical texts pulled from for this post.
Strength

Speed and Agility
Swords - Cú Chulainn carries no less than ten blades - a primary ivory-hilted sword, another with an ornamental golden hilt, and eight shortswords that he somehow octuple-wields, clutching four at once in each hand. In some stories, he has a special sword called the Cruadín Catutchend, which is enchanted and can penetrate thick iron.
Shields - In addition all the other weapons he’s already lugging around, Cú Chulainn packs a large, curved, dark-red shield, eight smaller shields, and an ornamental shield covered with golden decorations. His primary shield has a razor-edge that can split through enemies.
The Gáe Bulg - Cú Chulainn's most notorious weapon, a magic spear that bursts into barbs upon piercing an enemy. While excessively fatal, it needs to be used on a body of water, often requires outside assistance to cast, and has to be thrown with the foot. Cú Chulainn used this weapon to kill his friend-turned-rival Fer Diad, who had a weapon-resistant "horn-skin" - the spear bypassed his armor by going straight up his anus.
Demigod Physiology - As a demigod, Cú Chulainn has some odd physical characteristics, including seven digits on each hand and foot, seven pupils in each of his eyes, and an enhanced constitution that let him partially resist the effects of a sleeping potion. He’s so inhumanly beautiful that women have killed themselves just trying to get a piece.
Magic - Potentially thanks to studying under the druid Cathbad as a child, Cú Chulainn can access a fairly random grab-bag of magic powers. He can magically shape a beard out of grass, occasionally recieves premonitions of future events, can possibly breathe fire (though this may just be a non-literal poetic flourish), and can deal incurable wounds that only he can help heal.
Ríastrad / Warp-Spasm - When sufficiently enraged, Cú Chulainn can enter a battle frenzy state known as ríastrad, often translated as “the warp-spasm”. In this state, he has torn a massive trench in the ground, massacred countless enemy soldiers by taking out five hundred with each attack, forced a river from its course, and flipped over the trickster Bricriu’s massive mansion. While entering ríastrad can cause Cú Chulainn to lose any sense of reason and attack indiscriminately, he wears special armor to lessen this side effect.

Following a deadly car bombing, young Dougie Powers was left orphaned and only survived by nestling within his mother’s corpse. An evil Belgian man and his underage love slave came across the smoking wreckage and adopted the baby, instilling within him their own malevolent ideals. Years later, at the British Intelligence Academy, he’d lose out on the prestigious International Man of Mystery award, making only second place after his shagadelic roommate. This perceived snubbing would give young Master Evil a target for his evil ideals: Austin Powers, who was unbeknownst to Evil, his separated brother.
Following an attempted assassination in 1967, Dr. Evil would elect to cryogenically freeze himself and wake up in a world where greed and corruption triumphed over peace, love and psychedelia. In the late 1990s, Evil would focus on the construction of superweapons, the establishing of secret bases across the globe and the hiring of hundreds of inept henchmen. While attempting to kill the similarly frozen-and-reawakened Austin Powers in one of his impractical death traps, Evil also uses his apocalyptic superweapons to extort world governments to the tune of one million dollars, or even bigger ransoms than that.
Throw me a frickin' bone here and just check out the full respect thread
Dr. Evil falls into the category of comedy villain that has incredible strengths and equally important weaknesses. His superweapons are strong enough to wipe cities off the globe or trigger apocalyptic catastrophes, but they are also designed with obvious off switches or self-destruct mechanisms. His lover designed perfect killing machines indistinguishable from women, but they explosively malfunction when faced with the one guy they're supposed to kill. His Number 2 guy can easily run the business as a legitimate enterprise and take in billions per year, but Evil prefers holding the world for smaller ransoms with his various schemes. In every way, he's science-smart, but he's an idiot in terms of common sense.
In terms of notable subordinates, Mini-Me proves to be a physical powerhouse with amazing skills of hand-to-hand combat. Technically, Evil should scale to this as Mini-Me is a near-exact clone, but the doctor is not nearly as skilled as his clone. Fat Bastard is also a massive threat, even if he's largely immobile outside of his ability to exploit wire stunts mid-fight. Dr. Evil also employs people with inexplicably superhuman durability, like Mustafa and Robin Swallows.
For a good matchup, you'd probably want a comedy-adjacent opponent that could reasonably fit in the Austin Powers world. For example, Daniel Craig's Bond or Jason Bourne might just shoot Dr. Evil at the first available opportunity, but Roger Moore's Bond or Johnny English would probably behave a lot closer to how Austin does when fighting the doctor. Against other goofy idiots, Evil would have ample opportunities to make use of his henchmen, Fembots, and inconvenient death traps. My personal favorite matchup would be Adam West's Batman, who I think would play off really well against the villain.

His heart! That’s what started it all… a long time ago in Vietnam! He didn’t ask for this, didn’t want it, but it happened, all the same! For the wheels of fate choose but a few for the role of hero, and he was one of those few! Fate knew there was a world to be tried, tested… and defended, wrongs to be righted, injustices to avenged! To this world, his crimson and gold armor has stood for courage, skill, intellect… power!! And recognizing these attributes this world has put its trust in him! He has no right to betray that trust, for it has been a long time since he was simply a man among other men. He is Iron Man, and he knows what he must do!
Anthony Edward Stark was a billionaire industrialist and genius mechanical engineer, responsible for the creation of many of the inventions to come out of Stark Industries, his defense and advanced technologies company. While overseeing a weapons demonstration of his company’s technology in central Asia, Tony triggered a land mine and was grievously injured, left with shrapnel in his chest. Half-dead, he was dragged before the tyrant Wong-Chu, who demanded that Stark cooperate with the genius Yinseng and develop powerful weapons for use against America. Instead, Tony built a device to keep himself alive and fight back against his captors. This armor would be but the first of many that he’d wear in his adventures as the Invincible Iron Man.
Upon returning to the states, Tony took his superhero persona public, pretending that the warrior armored in Stark Industries’ advanced armor was his personal bodyguard instead of himself. As Iron Man, Stark defended the public and his company from a cadre of colorful communists, corporate spies or beings from other planets. He became a founding member of the Avengers and would donate his Manhattan mansion to the group of mighty heroes to use as a headquarters. As the threats he faced grew stronger, so too did Iron Man; Stark regularly improved his armor, meeting each foe with the most cutting-edge equipment his mind could imagine.
While the invention of Iron Man was necessary to save Tony’s life, his superhero career has opened the door to great loss. From the shrapnel remaining lodged in his chest for years to jilted lovers shooting him and inducing full-body paralysis, Tony can be hurt despite the amazing defensive capabilities of his armor. Furthermore, through his alcoholism or infighting with his closest allies, Tony can prove to be his own worst enemy. Despite his struggles, Tony Stark’s amazing ability to design and build a better future means that the Golden Avenger is here to stay as one of Earth's Mightiest and Brightest.

It doesn’t matter who you are or where you came from. It doesn’t matter who your family or friends are. Hell, it doesn’t matter if you are the President or the fucking Pope. If you make your way to Honey Island Swamp, you are already dead. Because Victor Crowley only knows rage.
Years ago, the cursed child Victor Crowley was born in the swamps of Louisiana, a result of an affair between Thomas Crowley and the family nurse, Lena. His mother died during birth, so his father raised him in a shack, keeping him away from a cruel and unforgiving world outside Honey Island Swamp. During a Halloween prank, a few teenagers accidentally lit his home on fire, and in his attempt to break the front door down, Thomas Crowley accidentally struck and killed his son with a hatchet. The remorse of his father and the anger of Victor somehow brought him back from the dark as a revenant, and the orphaned boy wanders the swamp to this day, killing any trespassers in a blind and indiscriminating rage.
In these stories, the homicidal adventures of Victor Crowley are not limited to the budget of a slasher movie. In addition to his standard human victims, Victor Crowley fights and kills dark creatures of the night, horrors conjured by satanic ritual and beings from beyond the stars. Yup, that’s right, he even goes to space in these.

On one occasion, Ally started acting buggy all of sudden that was fixed by feeding her power-ups from her game, which also briefly unlocked her ultimate form.

The Death Angels is the unofficial name for a species of extraterrestrial predators that have invaded Earth and brought ruin to human civilization. Originating from a lightless planet, these blind creatures have adapted acute hearing which enables them to locate prey over long distances from the slightest noise. In addition, their bodies are covered in impenetrable armor. Within the course of months, the Death Angels defeated the US military and destroyed the government despite the combined efforts of the world's superpowers.

When Duane and his conjoined twin brother were born, their mother died due to their irregular anatomical makeup. Mr. Bradley poured all of his hatred onto the twin, dubbing him Belial after the biblical demon. He assembled a team of surgeons to separate Belial from Duane despite the clear risks of the twin’s death. Either God was looking down on the twins or damning everyone involved, because Belial survived the operation and he was pissed. Years later, Duane and his brother would seek revenge against the doctors in and around New York City, with the smaller twin hiding in an innocuous wicker basket. When Duane falls in love with a woman named Sharon and Belial kills her in a fit of jealousy, the brothers fight and they both take a fall out of a multi-story building.
Despite their fighting, the boys realize that they are all they’ve got and a move to a more secluded location outside of the city is required. A community of likewise physically deformed people welcome Belial and Duane with open arms (and for one freak, that’s around a dozen open arms) in rural New York. But these people aren’t accepted by just anyone, and Belial must sate his bloodlust with nosey reporters and local police if he’s to protect his new family.
When he was injured but there was still revenge to enact on the deputies who killed his love, Eve, Belial wore a battle suit designed by the mechanical genius Little Hal.
Belial is everything you’d expect from a bestial slasher just in a convenient, basket-sized package. Strong enough to tear limbs and heads off or slice through flesh with his claws, Belial’s number one strategy is to leap onto a victim and grapple with them. An even matchup with him should have an answer to this, either having the reflexes to avoid the initial leap or the physicals to resist the damage and toss the monster off.
Prompts using Belial could note whether or not Duane is a part of the equation. Having a human, “Renfield” type figure helps Belial infiltrate places in his innocuous looking wicker basket and pop out when the time is right. If he needs an X-factor, he’s even got a mech suit with a buzzsaw bulletproof shield for engagements a bit above his normal weight class.
My favorite match-ups with this murderous meatball would be Chucky from Child’s Play for the similar sizes, Gabriel from Malignant for the conjoined twins connection or other mad physical beasts like Cujo. If you wanted to include Belial’s supporting cast, you could ask if he’d be a good defender of his fellow freaks in different settings, like Robocop’s Detroit or Gotham City.

"I'll never be anything more than a wealthy queen of a fabulous faraway kingdom... it's my destiny.”
Tiabeanie Mariabeanie de la Rochambeaux Grunkwitz (Bean for short) is the daughter of King Zøg of Dreamland and Queen Dagmar of Maru, and older half-sister to his sons Prince Derek and Jasper. Far from your traditional teenage princess, Bean is a rebellious tomboy who would rather spend her time drinking at the pub with her friend Elfo and personal demon Luci than fulfilling her royal duties.
Though she is only second-in-line to the throne of Dreamland, Bean is soon crowned Queen when her father becomes too mentally-disturbed to rule and Derek leaves Dreamland to live with his mother Oona. She later becomes joint rulers with Zøg once he returns to his post. However, her reign ends when Dagmar takes over Dreamland as the Queen of Hell. Bean must uncover the mysteries of Dreamland and learn to harness her innate magical powers to overthrow her tyrannical mother.

To me, my X-Men.
Scott Summers was an orphan whose parents had disappeared following a plane accident in Alaska. He was also a mutant, born with the ability to uncontrollably fire blasts of potent energy from his eyes that manifested itself when reached a certain age. He was found by mutant activist Charles Xavier, who granted Scott a special visor to contain and release his optic blasts only when he chose to do so. With this control, Xavier also granted Scott purpose. He’d join the X-Men as field team leader and fight for humans and mutants alike as Cyclops.
Scott would fall in love with the telepathic mutant Jean Grey, beginning a relationship that would bring him into conflict with her suitor, Wolverine. When Jean drew the attention of the Phoenix, an ancient force from outer space, Cyclops led a mission to stow away on a rocket ship and pursue the Phoenix. In the far reaches of the final frontier he’d meet up with Corsair, a space pirate and his missing father, who had survived the plane crash and been abducted by the Shi’ar Empire. Scott would save his father from a crooked Shi’ar cop before he returned to the stars.
Jean and Scott would tie the knot just a few months later and the couple would assume joint leadership over the X-Men following Xavier’s death. Through equal parts sternness and compassion, Scott would lead his X-Men through battles with anti-Mutant bigots, Prime Sentinels, Magneto and Bastion.
