Painting I wanted to show off my buddies first model since he got out of basic compared to last year
It would look a little smoother if he was able to use primer on base😅 army rules ig

There are more painting guides in the sticky!

Hi all!
There have been a lot of links being posted over the life of this subreddit (a lot by me, honestly) covering a lot of topics that are great for people getting started with the V Legion. Considering how I'm limited to 2 stickied posts per subreddit, I've decided to consolidate all that info here, to free up room for a stickied post about announcements and the like.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Here are some different painting tutorials from some great painters on Youtube:
Bear in mind some of these tutorials may require some paints that don't exist anymore, so you may have to make some modifications.

Hi folks!
I am going to post up all my White Scars conversions that I have either done so far, or I am working on; and add to it when I create more.
So far, I have made a Squad of Assault Intercessors, a Captain, one Jump Pack Intercessor Sergeant, and a Bladeguard Veteran, the last two of which are still WiPs.
Pictures provided.
I will add more as my journey continues.
I hope this thread might inspire others to make their own conversions, and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.
Cheers!

Made a quick list with the new Updates and Detachment:
Terminator Chaplain: Shield, Stromseers Wisdom (Warlord)
Jump Captain: Orcsbane, Shield
2x JP Chaplains: Crozius Arcanum, PF
2x Lieutenants: MCBR, HBP, PF
5-man Intercessor Squad: PF, GL
2x 10-man Intercessor Squads: PFs, 2x GLs (w/LTs)
10-man AT Squad: 6x THs, 4x LCs (w/Terminator Chaplain)
2x Gladiator Lancers
2x 10-man Vanguard Vets: MCPWs, 2x PPs (w/JP Chaplains)
5-man Vanguard Vet: MCPWs, 1x PP (w/JP Captain)
Total: 2000 Points Exactly
Simple but Straightforward. Terminators focus on the middle Objective, Vanguard Vets w/Chaplains do what they do best while the Captains unit provides support and the Intercessor Squads provide Fire Support when needed. Your thoughts?

So I posted earlier that I was considering starting a Dornian heresy white scars arm. Here is the partially completed test model I've been working on!

In this Update, we got the updated Vanguard Vets finally but it does make us pick what we want to do. We can either:
As before, run them ALL with special Pistols or Storm Shield but they can only take the S5 AP1 D1 Vanguard Weapons.
Or take the MC Vanguard Weapons at S5 AP2 D2 but can are only able to take Hvy Bolt Pistols and 2x Plasma Pistols per 10-man Squad.
Which do you prefer and why? In the Spearpoint + Vengeful Detachment Combo, I'm leaning towards the MCPWs as I do believe thats what they will be limited to but we shall see.

Hello, i have paint that marine with a bit more effort and slowly but im wondering what can i improve on him ?
r/WhiteScars40K • u/RyanH2711 • 1d ago
I'm fairly new to warhammer 40k and have only had a couple games so far, both have been against Tau.
I manage ok the first couple rounds generally doing pretty good on points but then round 3 onwards I just get wiped out by all Tau's battlesuits.
This is the list is played last night... am I doing anything drastically wrong, what could I improve.
TIA

Besides marking the riders themselves, with Close Support and leg/knee company/squad symbols, how have you blinged out the bikes?
All-white? Adapting the company or squad mark somehow? Random jagged bits, per unit / set of 3, or unique for each bike?
I'm just starting to paint my first unit of three bikes from the Combat Patrol, and I'm looking for inspiration. But, I can't seem to find a lot of variety, and GW themselves seem to stick to mostly white, which is a bit boring.

Hello cousins. I come seeking knowledge. Please do list some Jagatai Khan feats and deeds below, as I am trying to understand what is so cool about him.
From what I am aware, his biggest victories, are fighting Mortarion to a stale mate, and them mutual deaths (both survived but you get what I mean), and managing to verbally insult Fulgrim once. Other then that, to my knowledge he is rather basic, please do correct me if I am wrong.

As the title says, share with the horde your kit-bashed units.
Not sure if mine even counts but here’s my deathwatch kill team’s kit-bashed sergeant.
All I did was use the helmet and blade of Suboden but I think these additions give the model a bunch more personality.
Let’s see what you guys have done!

Took a lot of inspiration from u/Wepaintminis who posted their conversion a few weeks ago.
Its for a local painting comp and I'm open to changing the helm mostly and possibly the back pack. Id rather keep it as a helm than a face since I want to do markings on it.
Any feedback is welcome and hope you like the kitbash!

Okay, I'm going to be honest. I prefer the Emperor's children paint scheme over the white scars paint scheme, but I honestly prefer the white scars lore over the emperor's children lore. So I was thinking I could do the Dorian heresy paint scheme for my white scars

Your faction rules. I'm about to build my third army, and if it wasn't for how bad I paint white models, it would be scars for sure.
Besides painting white, I love everything white scars do.

When I told my friends I was starting White Scars three of them gave me an ATV they were never gonna use. Now that they're painted, here's hoping they stick around for a little while.

Basically what the title says. I really want to make a Jade Scorpions successor chapter (I like green), but also think Suboden Khan is badass. Lore-wise it would be pretty simple, he's there to oversee/train/validate the chapter's tactics techniques and procedures. Maybe they gifted him the bike and it will be in my chapter's color scheme while he stays in his OG? Or do you think that's too much?
Gameplay-wise, I'd just have to mechanically run my army using the White Scars ruleset?

Started with the least white scars u it so I could gone the white and red a bit more before moving on to better themed units
