Hi!!

My fiance and I are getting eloped on a private dock in South Lake Tahoe in less than a month and we are looking for a videographer/photographer to hire!! I don’t know how many people can do both, but if we can find someone who can I would be so happy. I just want a short film as it will just be him and I but I want to be able to look back on it and have more than just still photos but I also would like to have photos.

I’ve been engaged for less than a month, we’re doing this on such short notice because we’ll be moving out of state in about a month because of college.

It would probably be around a two hour session. I’m looking to find someone who is $500 or less that does good work.

What are your busiest months as an Arizona wedding photographer? How would you rank each month from busiest to least busy?

How are we organizing our galleries for delivery? I strongly believe gallery curation is part of the client experience and an important part of our workflow.

I'm especially curious to hear from hybrid shooters. Do you keep digital and film separate, combine everything into one gallery, or offer both? Do you break galleries into sections based on different parts of the day?

For a long time, I delivered one full gallery along with separate sections for each part of the day.

Lately, I've been front-loading the gallery with a "Highlights" section so clients see the strongest images first, followed by the full gallery, then film scans, and finally any behind-the-scenes images that vendors might enjoy.

I'd love to hear how you approach gallery delivery and what has worked best for your clients. I am really focused on experiencing this year so I would love to hear anything you all do!

I just started my small wedding photography business here in NYC and I'm starting to think about hiring a CPA to handle my tax filing and accounting. Does anyone have any recommendations? TIA!!

Hey y'all, 

I'm a videographer getting started in my career after graduating with a masters in documentary filmmaking, and I'm looking into the wedding space, although it is a little daunting. I wanted to get some advice from current photographers in the space, and especially on how they would feel collaborating with a new videographer? I was thinking of reaching out to some in my local area, to perhaps offer video services at a reduced rate for clients who were not going to be getting this service anyway, so it's a nice little bonus addition for them, and a low risk entry point? 

Or if you have any other advice on how to get first clients and projects? I unfortunately don't have any friends or family in my area, and don't know anyone getting married. 

(Also similar question with offering content creation services - I know this is a bit of a contentious point in the industry at the moment and understand why - but as an actual videographer, not just a random person with a phone saying I can do this.)

My partner and I are planning our wedding for next year, and we would love to get married in Tuscany with our closest friends and family. We would like to avoid May-Sep as everything is much more expensive during peak season. Our vision for the wedding is: (preferably an outdoor) ceremony + cocktail hour + dinner + party on Saturday, followed by a pool party with pizza + Aperol on Sunday. We have a heated pool so that part is covered.

We are aware that the weather can be unpredictable and don't mind some rain, but curious to hear based on your experience if late April or early October is usually better for photography lighting, etc? 😄 Thanks dear photographers! Hello, I have been doing a little bit of everything for years and then a year and a half ago I decided to just offer couples sessions and weddings. I've played around with pricing and finally am trying to put set official pricing, would I be able to get some advice?

I will also add our area is VERY competitive and I want to be priced at a rate I could afford right now if I needed a reliable photographer.

Elopement- ($570)

2 hours, 200+ edited images, 1 roll of film, and choice of USB drive or 10 prints ( debating what size)

Wedding-

Standard ($1,240)

4 hours, 400+ edited images, 1 roll of film, and again choice of USB or 10 prints

Premium ($1,860)

6 hours, 600+ edited images, 1 roll of film, 2nd shooter, and again USB or 10 prints

Deluxe ($2,800)

800+ edited images, 2 rolls of film, USB or photobook, 2nd shooter, and 30 minute engagement session.
