I picked up this used Walther PDP full size today.

I fell in love with it after holding it and trying the trigger.

It's a fine looking firearm!

I think I really love these. Started with the match, but picked up the 4.5" yesterday. Sold a staccato to do it and have zero regrets.

Also got this magmo grip yesterday and immediately ordered another one. What a game changer.

Can't wait for my match this weekend.

Not much to be said here. Great gun, great holster. Would recommend both.

I have a Walther PDP Compact Steel Frame 4" (non-Pro version) and I’m considering adding a magwell. The new PDP Steel Frame Pro Compact 4" comes with an aluminum magwell and matching aluminum base pads.

Does anyone know if Walther sells that OEM Pro Compact Steel Frame magwell separately?

Are there any good alternatives that fit the PDP Compact Steel Frame 4"?

I already have 18 rounds (Compact Pro) magazines so no issue here.

My new favorite project has been to upgrade my Q5 match over the past few months. Upgrades are as follows:
Holosun 507c
LOK Standard Aluminium Grips
Taylor Freelance Magwell
Streamlight TLR-1 HL
Overwatch Precision TAC Trigger

Plan to have the barrel ported on top to match the slide ports soon. Will upgrade spring after that.

Finally got my son out to the range to try out the suppressor on his P22. It’s giggle worthy how quiet the damn thing is. Probably have to to change the spring out for a lighter one as it was being super finicky about ammo.

My dad had a P22 when I was a kid, I adored that gun and always dreamed of having a P99. I thought and still think it’s one of the sexiest looking polymer handguns ever made.

Fast forward to today, I’ve held and inspected both the PDP compact and full size, and see them every day. In my opinion, they are one of the ugliest pistols currently on the market. I’m not at all debating their quality or shootability, but they have seriously fallen off in terms of visual appeal.

The slide looks way oversized, and I find the cuts to be way too big and obnoxious. Looks almost like something that would come out of Turkey. The grip ergonomics are good, but I hate that they’ve gone from the ambi paddle mag release to the standard button.

What happened between the P99 and PDP? Were they vying for some big military contract with its particular design, or something else? It certainly doesn’t look like the natural evolution of the P99.

I grabbed one of his edge grips for my steel frame and it's incredible. Are these compliant in level 2 and up matches?

I’m lefty but prefer my mag release setup on the left side of the handgun so I use my trigger finger to drop the mag. It doesn’t break my grip as much and I’ll never get DQ’d for finger on the trigger during a reload. The issue with the PDP SF specifically is that the mag release button location and grip ergos placed my support hand index finger if the perfect spot to reach around and push on my firing hand middle finger causing it to drop a mag prematurely during a string. By cutting the bottom half of the mag release button off with a hacksaw it’s no longer an issue. Yes I can still easily hit the mag release button with my trigger finger.

But this one is mine. My Walther PDP Pro SD Compact. Finally put all the parts together and very happy with both the aesthetics and how it performs. Looking forward to more training and range days.

So I got the PDP it’s bone stock and I loved it enough to go deep down the hole. Would Love everyone’s thoughts…

10,752 rounds in 3 months and I'm fucking astonished.

Peep my post history for my initial impressions about 3 months ago for my first introduction to Walther, if you'd like.

I've been shooting this PMM PDP for days on end when either my range owning/LEO friends invite me shooting or I head to my local range, practically almost daily now that our schedules have lined up.

This gun is fucking INSANE.

Laser beam accuracy, an INCREDIBLE trigger paired with a fantastic comp by PMM.

I just fucking runs, man, Like, reliably boring?

It absolutely loves Speer GD+P which I personally love/stockpile for self defense ammo.

Thats one cheap mod that i like to do on my striker fired guns, wonder if the same pdp spring works on the pdp F. Only thing i know is the striker system is different between them.

As hhd told says I run a stock pdp f series magwell and want to add a backstrap but was told Taylor and lok need modifications. Any advice?

I have pretty normal sized hands for a girl (wear a unisex size medium glove) but the smallest PDP-F backstrap still feels too big for me.

Ive shot ~3000 rounds through it and it still feels ”wrong” every time I take it out. I either have to slide my right hand so far back that the front of my fingers don’t fold neatly around the front of the grip and I have trouble with the trigger safety, or I have a big gap between my palms. I am constantly “milking the grip” and it’s a challenge to shoot with speed without my grip getting worse with every shot. Every once in a while I happen upon a grip that works great, but by the following week Im starting over trying to figure it out.

I also struggle with thumb placement, the slide never locks back (except apparently in this video) and I frequently cause it to go out of battery.

By comparison I have a 9mm P365x that “just fits” in my hands every time I pick it up, but obviously it’s a lot less fun to shoot 5 boxes out of. I do also struggle with Glock grips for similar reasons as my PDP - they’re too long front to back.

Does anyone have any ideas? It seems ridiculous to me that a female specific gun wouldn’t come in a small enough backstrap size, so I’m very open to the possibility that I’m doing something wrong.

Is anybody running a vortex on the new Walter PDPF series pro or the Holosun SCS?

Vortex has a taller window that advance is getting back on the target. The Holosun attaches directly to the slide and has a lower profile and easier to co-witness with iron sites.

Any thoughts???

Hey all, ive had a stainless ppk/s for about 5 years now and I always pocket carry it or put it in a compartment on tractor,bulldozer, mower, etc while im working around my property. I also put it in a jacket pocket when i go hunting. I would love a good owb holster to keep it on me. I bought it used from a gun store and its dinged up and scratched ao im not trying to keep it pristine. What are your reccomendations for an owb holster?

Of course, I grew up during the Goldeneye days of Bond on N64 and watching the movie with my dad, so acquiring the James Bond gun was of utmost importance to me as a young adult…duh! When I ordered mine and went to pick it up, I began documenting the serial number for my records, and of course, the first thing I noticed was this. I’m wondering what the chances of this are and if it’s really as cool as I think it is! Haha. Made me giggle just like my first day of playing Goldeneye!
