First time attending this year - and I'll be flying in from the UK on my own to come and party.

Bringing a tent internationally is a bit of a pain in the ass; are there any rules against me hiring a SUV/Minivan and sleeping in that instead?

My name is Farid, I’m coming from Mexico, and I’m trying to coordinate camping/logistics for Wakaan with a friend who will be flying in from Detroit.

This will be our first Wakaan, but we both have experience attending other festivals, both with groups and on our own, so we’re comfortable with festival camping and respectful community etiquette. We’re just trying to plan this one properly since the travel logistics are a little tricky.

Because of my friend’s work schedule, they can only arrive late on 9/30 or early on 10/1. The plan is for us to meet in Arkansas, rent a car, and head to the festival from there.

The main thing we’re trying to figure out is camping gear. My friend has camping stuff, but can’t realistically bring everything on the plane, so we’re looking at a few options before arriving.

One important detail: I don’t have a parking pass yet, so we’re also trying to figure out the best way to handle that depending on the camping/arrival plan.

We’d really appreciate any advice or help with:

• extra camp space or a group willing to share setup space
• an extra canopy/tent setup
• cheap places nearby to buy or rent basic camping gear
• whether shipping some camping gear ahead of time to a UPS/FedEx pickup location, hotel, or safe pickup point would be realistic
• parking pass guidance
• any other ideas, options, or workarounds the community can suggest

We’re respectful, clean, easygoing, and happy to contribute to costs, gas, supplies, food, setup, and tear-down. Just trying to make the logistics smoother and connect with good people before the festival.

The pre party is practically half the price of a GA ticket for just one extra day. I wonder if maybe they secured a big/expensive artist for the pre party night.

Also I find it wild that GA ticket holders start arriving at 1am Thursday morning 🫪

Wakarusa was my favorite festival. Its last year was 2015, but it was at the same location as Wakaan. I attended every year from 2010 to 2015, and I always made the pilgrimage down to the waterfall. It was a tough hike, especially on the way back up, but was totally worth it.

I'm considering doing Wakaan solo this year, but just wanted to see if that trail was still accessible.

First timer. The FAQ link isn’t working for me. Was hoping someone could tell me if I purchase a pre party ticket, would I be able to sleep in the yurt that night? I won’t have a tent with me, so I was double checking before buying a ticket. Also I didn’t realize the glamping area didn’t have their own restrooms and showers. Can you pay for showers if you have GA?

Camping raised to $100, Payment Plan Fees Implemented to be an extra $100 per ticket, Gold VIP raised $100 with same perks.

Just hope the price increase goes to something substantial, but the use of AI makes me think otherwise.
