Personally, I do enjoy this one quite a bit. It’s got so much going musically that it’s a real treat on great headphones.

I’ve always been a sucker for Wavves going a bit ham on the effects and utilizing odd synths/interesting mix choices. I can understand if some fans find this grating at times or makes the project just not cohesive enough. I wouldn’t say it’s his strongest record but it’s definitely not at the bottom of the list.

Overall, I feel like it sounds like a record Nathan spent a lot of time on and really explored sonically what was possible.

Strangely it reminds of Third Eye Blind’s “Blue” album where they get went crazy in the studio with what could be done creatively but sacrificed on cohesiveness

The show was super fun, I had a blast. I love how much heavier Wavves sounds live too, so hearing some of their older songs in that new way was great. Bass Drum of Death was also totally rad, love both of these bands.

Very grateful that they came to Milwaukee too. To me it feels like it's not too often punk / garage rock bands come by here. Or maybe at least the ones I listen to. But still I was very happy.

Deathx1k is amazing and is definitely a step in the right direction for wavves and I really hope this album gets a better treatment than spun and hideaway. I hope they promote it better and just put more effort into it. spun was amazing and it’s such shame that its getting ignore other than getting a deluxe so it would suck if cherry soda gets the same treatment because this album has some great potential.
