Diving from left lane to the far right turn lane just to skip ahead and dive over left at the intersection.
Incredibly reckless right around a neighborhood.

VIRGINIA BEACH ā Sandbridge Road, a two-lane winding thoroughfare with ditches on each side, is the only way to Sandbridge Beach. Every time it has closed over the years ā for a wreck or a flood or a downed power line ā thousands of residents and visitors have had no way in or out.
Emergency vehicles can access the area through Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck Annex. Residents can as well under certain circumstances, but that requires a surge of naval security and Virginia Beach police officers to control the route.
A push to build a new road to Sandbridge is nothing new, but itās gaining momentum again following two recent accidents that shut down the road. City and Navy officials are urging an expedited environmental review of alternative route.
āItās a safety concern,ā said Elaine Fekete, president of the Sandbridge Beach Civic League. Sheās lived in Sandbridge since 1995 and says road closures have increased in recent years.
A new road
A reliable alternative would slice through the northern part of Back Bay Wildlife Refuge, which concerns environmental groups about potential effects on birds and other animals.
The project would extend Nimmo Parkway 1.9 miles between Albuquerque Drive in the Lago Mar neighborhood to an improved section of Sandbridge Road via a city-owned right-of-way. A 800-foot bridge would be built over Ashville Bridge Creek in the refuge. Nimmo Parkway Phase VII-B would include a two-lane undivided roadway with shoulders, bike lanes and a shared-use path.
Extending Nimmo Parkway would have minimal effects on private property, requiring no business or residential relocations, according to the city and the Virginia Department of Transportation. It also has fewer impacts to wetlands and streams than redesigning roughly 3.4 miles of Sandbridge Road, which is bordered by homes, businesses, cemeteries, a church and the refuge.
The extension would tie into a recently improved 1-mile section of the east end of Sandbridge Road, which was completed last fall. Those improvements included straightening and elevating the road as well as adding 12-foot-wide travel lanes, new on-road bike lanes, a 10-foot-wide shared-use path, a widened shoulder, new reflective pavement markings, LED street lighting and pedestrian lighting.

In town for the weekend with friends and wondering where the best places to go would be even if I'm by myself.
Really just looking for a decent sports bar with minimal distractions so I can watch a game and have a drink in peace.

Hi! Husband and I are looking at going to Virginia Beach for a small baby moon in early August. Depending on when we go Iāll be around 6-7 months pregnant. Trying to figure out which is the best resort. We are ultimately looking for relaxation, a nice pool, and easy beach access. Weāve narrowed it down to Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront and Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort. Any advice that might help us make a decision would be very helpful!

So last Saturday night turning left from great neck onto shore drive the other driver next to me in the 2nd turning lane had merged into my lane and damaged my car. We pulled over exchanged information and decided to handle things privately (stupid I now know). Iām not from here and 25 and I just didnāt know Virginia laws. He led me on to believing heād pay for the 2 estimates he asked me to get until he realized my newer car would cost more then he realized. He filed through his insurance (information he wouldnāt give me) and claimed I was the one who merged into his lane and damaged his car. Unfortunately from what I can tell thereās not much I can do as itās a āhe said she saidā situation and he didnāt write in text expressing fault and I didnāt file and on scene police reportā¦. so itās up to me independently to acquire the evidence. Any help? š

Hi everyone! I'm looking for high vantage points or tall buildings in VB where I can check out the views (and preferably hang out and sightsee). Are there any areas you'd recommend? If there are taller structures with public access, let me know. Thanks in advance!
