Which chapter should I start with after finishing the live action? I bought the entire manwha on webtoon because I like Taejun Pak's work.

Or should I just read from the beginning incase there is stuff left out in the live action? I just finished episode 4 of the live action.

I'm genuinely interested. I mean, both Daniel and Hobin would never have reached the heights they did without their mentors' help. Who do you guys think was the better mentor and instructor?

As someone who followed the serialization of Viral Hit aka How To Fight from really early on all the way to the end and LOVED IT, I will say: I really enjoyed the live action.

Would it have been nice if it adapted the manhwa more faithfully? Yes, absolutely.

But for what its worth, the Viral Hit live action only had 6 episodes. What I saw was an attempt to encapsulate the core of the manhwa's story into as compact and efficient as possible in 6 episodes. And quite frankly, it did it pretty well!

Good points: It wove Asamiya/Bomi more into her involvement with the team rather than just being a prize to win, it gave Kanegon/Jiksae a really endearing character arc from asshole to ride-or-die bro, and the fights were choreographed really well in illustrating how Youtube-learnt Shimura/Hobin fights. Oh, and Taehoon/Shinjo looked like he popped straight out of the manhwa, INSANE CASTING!!

If I listed all the parts I wish they did better, of course, it'd be a really long list. That's just a testament to how awesome How To Fight was. But if I, rather than judge Viral Hit based on my expectations from the manhwa, judged it based on what it is as a standalone show, it's a FANTASTIC underdog story. It's easy to pick up, easy to get into, and anyone I know who enjoyed it, I can heartily recommend the manhwa for the full, much more fleshed out experience. Genuinely, it's a GREAT 6-episode Netflix show!!

But yeah, guys. I know most of us are long-time fans and wish for better. I get the feeling. But it's important that we're just sad about it, not mad. Because, don't forget:

Calling it an ending it putting it nicely. The show just stopped. The was no resolution for any of the characters in a way that would be satisfying. Our main character (Hobin) does get the money for his mother but that’s it. It doesn’t show him nor the team getting their channel back. For the villains( pedophiles) they don’t face any consequences nor backlash. It could be for season 2 but even so they had very little “impact or evidence” to confront the villains. Honestly the villains aren’t good enough for them to come back in season 2 they didn’t really interact with out main cast. And what they did to Dowoon backstory should be a crime. If they weren’t going to do it right they shouldn’t have touch it at all they completely changed the reason he died he forced it in a way to accommodate the villain. Taehun was also completely done wrong by the writers. I am a firm believer he should had been involved earlier into the show instead of a one time appearance like he was. He was a huge pull for people to watch the show to have him show up for one episode change his friend background changing his motives as well. Long story short everything was done half ass and surface level. They should had done things completely differently with the cast and story. In my opinion 6 episodes could have worked if the writers took out the unnecessary scenes such as bomi “story” and father weren’t needed. If they condensed the story it could have been so great.

I was a little nervous to get to season 2 because there was so much hate going on

But after finishing it, rather quickly too, I can definitely say I enjoyed it from beginning to end

It's always bittersweet finishing a series but grateful for all the work they put into it. I'd recommend this series to pretty much anyone!!

Can we now say that Japan is very much obsessed with minors. The live action helps prove my point even move they rewrote the story to into Rumi a minor getting into sexual situations with adults when in the manhwa there was no mention or anything of the sort. Rewriting the story makes sense the overall plot of viral hit can’t fit into just 6 episodes but to make up and include sexual scenes with a minor is just terrible. Makes watching the show way harder like they didn’t have to do that at all but they still went out of their way to do it. The plot by itself is already pretty mid ( the boxing match’s) were a random touch which I honestly felt like it went against one of the main themes of the manhwa like our mc is a loser with no fighting skills in the beginning and gains skills later on by fighting thugs,bullies etc but no he’s in a boxing show??? I mean sure they needed a plot but they couldn’t have thought of anything better. Whatever but does anyone else feel weird about rumi plot line or is that just me?
