The stage is set for the USL2 Eastern Conference Final.

Vermont Green FC will face Asheville City SC on Friday night at PEG Energy Stadium in Laredo, Texas. A trophy and a place in the National Semifinal are on the line as the Green and the Blues meet by the Rio Grande.

While we just fell short of the ultimate USLW prize, it should be noted that we still had an amazing season. Salmon Bay absolutely deserved the title just as much as we did, and I congratulate them for closing out the season the way that they did. Seattle is an especially tough environment, and the Fishes (along with their men’s affiliate, Ballard FC) share many of the same ideals on both the game, community, and social justice that we do. Having an overflowing house and a game that was relatively evenly-matched is what the league deserved, and the ending will rightfully live on in their lore forever. Also, keep in mind the following statements are still true:

-Adam Pfiefer is still the only Green coach to have lost at home (for now at least), or in the regular season, OR in regulation.

-It’s possible to return many key pieces, and there is clearly a greater appeal that can draw more talent (much like with the men)

-We still have a men’s team to rally behind later today in front of the home crowd.

Hats off to the Girls in Green. We’ll see them off on their college journeys and hopefully next season.

I have an extra single ticket for the game tonight. Would love to sell it for face value. Would hate for it to go to waste.

The 2026 USLW Final kicks off at 8:00pm ET/5:00pm PT on Saturday, July 18. The match will be streamed live on SportsEngine Play and broadcast on cable television on WCAX-affiliate WYCI.

Vermont Green FC are set to compete in the 2026 USL W League Final against Salmon Bay FC in Seattle on July 18 at 8pm ET (5pm PT).

The match will be broadcast live on WYCI (a WCAX affiliate) and streamed for free on SportsEngine Play.

While the Women in Green go for the ultimate prize out west, Vermonters will be gathering in bars, homes, theaters and more to support them from home.

Bars, cafes, restaurants or any other establishments that are showing the match can fill out this form to be added to a running list of viewing locations. We hope to see fans all across our state, and maybe the world, cheering on the Green.

We beat NEFC 5-0 at home and 4-0 away. Both teams are still undefeated. They will be coming for us.
