“Let’s all go out and run people over and kill them and just get probation,” the father of the 17-year-old victim said. “Let’s make Las Vegas as dangerous as possible, because nothing’s going to happen.”

Park MGM vs. Cosmo/Aria/Bellagio

Hey everyone. I have degen comps at all four of these places, with more resort credit at Park. I booked Park because I liked the non-smoking last time I was there but now I’m wondering if we shouldn’t just take advantage of one of the other places instead. It’s my birthday trip so maybe a more upbeat vibe is required. It’ll just be me and my boyfriend. We like the pool and gambling mostly.

Thanks for your insights.

ICE Mandates Dress Code After Killings and Botched Arrest After Botched Arrest at Harry Reid Airport

The new dress code, two ICE officials told The Intercept, came in direct response to the recent fatal ICE shootings in Texas and Maine and the botched arrest attempt by two plainclothes ICE officers on July 13 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.

“It’s because of the incident that happened in Las Vegas,” said the ICE official.

Video of the Las Vegas airport incident, recorded by a bystander, shows two people in hooded sweatshirts tackling a man in the middle of a busy terminal. After passersby draw near, the officers abandoned the arrest but left the man handcuffed on one hand. The man tackled in the video, later identified as Phu Nguyen, a 57-year-old Australian national who allegedly overstayed his visa, was arrested by ICE the following day at Los Angeles International Airport.

“It blew all our minds,” the ICE official said. “It didn’t look professional. They didn’t present a badge when they initiated.”

Mondays on my mind - Marquee

Anyone ever been to this pool party? One of the few that have a Dj on a Monday. Is it a good vibe???

Go pool at the Flamingo is the other option. Which would you all recommend between the two? (mid 20s couple)

Tamba Vs Casa Playa vs Sparrow&Wolf?

Upvotes

We are in Vegas for one night only and looking to have a memorable meal either on or off strip. I saw these three restaurants were nominated for James Beard awards so seem to be safe bets, just curious on everyone’s take on them.

Open to other suggestions as well, it’s my friends bachelorette so just want it to be a memorable meal

Encore Beach Club nighttime dress code

Upvotes

Please help a former clubber, 40-something lady out! I’m totally clueless. Seeing online I can wear swimwear or club attire?? Especially curious about what footwear is appropriate. I’d love to get away with sandals or sneakers so I can dance the night away. Has anyone been recently who can share their experience?

Around The World

My girlfriend and I are heading out to Las Vegas over labor day weekend. We are staying 3 nights on the strip then 3 out in Summerlin (we are heavily thinking about moving to that area in early 2027).

For the strip, we would love to emulate the Epcot “around the world drinking” with different drinks and cocktails from different cultures and stretches of the world on the strip.

Is this something that you think would be possible? If so, what are some recs?

Rate my Vegas restaurant list!

I made this list for a friend that's visiting soon. I've been to all of these places and they are in order. The one at the top of each section is my favorite followed by the second favorite and so on. I put notes in parentheses next to some spots. It does not include anything on the strip or too touristy. It's more of a locals oriented list. Rate it! Hate it! Debate it! Add to it!

Breakfast:
Siegel's Bagelmania (Challah French toast)
Black Bear Diner (Pancakes)
Hash House A Go Go (Pancakes)
The Egg & I
Egg Works

Burger:
Born and Raised (mac and cheese bites also good)
Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews
The Front Yard at Ellis Island Casino

Dessert:
Cinnaholic
Luv-it Frozen Custard
Dulce Donuts (near North Vegas)
Gelato Bar (In spring mountain next to Pho Kim Long)
Pinkbox Doughnuts
Nielsen’s Frozen Custard (never been but heard its good)

Top Sushi & Oyster Las Vegas (All you can eat)
Naked Fish's Sushi & Grill

Italian:
The Bootlegger Italian Bistro

Diner:
Peppermill Restaurant and Fireside Lounge
Blueberry Hill Family Restaurant

Pizza:
Pizza Rock
Rocco's NY Pizzeria & Pasta
Joe's New York Pizza (avoid the sausage)

Thai:
Lotus of Siam (High end)
Archi’s Thai Kitchen
Le Thai (I haven’t been, but its really good from what I hear. Downtown Fremont)

Brit visiting for first time

Hi all, I'm visiting at the start of August and never been before. I've been getting some recommendations from people that have been before but was wondering if there's any must see/do bits whilst I'm over there. I'm also single and will probably look to go out a night or two so any recommendations on where to go/look out for would be great. Thanks :D

Sample pool-day itinerary for a summer trip to Wynn Las Vegas

Summer days revolve around staying near our glistening pools until the sun drops. Here is how a full day of fun in the sun at Wynn flows:

•     9:30 a.m.: Grab a spot at the Wynn pool or Encore's European pool before it fills in

•     Noon: Poolside lunch, no need to leave your lounger

•     3 p.m.: Encore Beach Club for a DJ set

•     6 p.m.: Dinner at your favorite Wynn restaurant — request a table on one of our patios

•     8:30 p.m.: Awakening to close out the night

That is the pool-to-dinner-to-show flow that works best in July and August. Planning a summer trip? Ask us anything.

Advice on 10 year anniversary stay

Hey Vegas friends! I am coming out to Vegas for a work trip in mid October this year. My wife will join me in Vegas and we plan on staying there for a few days after my work to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We are looking for advice on what is your opinion on best resort/pool, activities, etc. We aren't big gamblers but I could see us spending quite a bit of the day time around the pool. We'll be together for 4 nights there and wanting to hear from you all who really know the city on where you would stay and what you would do.

Any advice helps, thanks!

Transport for my buddy's 40th

Hey there all!

I'm surprising my buddy for his 40th and booked us at NYNY for a few days (7/30-8/3), and I sincerely apologize if this isn't the forum to post this in.

I'm having a hard time figuring out if renting a car is our best option for our plans, or to uber, or using the monorail. It's been overwhelming booking stuff for us to do, the rooms, and trying to keep it a surprise for him, so I'm hoping to get some insight on what you guys think. There are 4 of us in our party.

I'm going to put the major events in bullet points to make this easy to read:

  • Transport at two separate times on 7/30 from the airport to NYNY
  • Transport for all four on 7/31 from NYNY to the Sphere for a concert at night
  • Transport on 8/1 to Area 15 at some point (I've been looking at Zoox for this, but not sure how great the booking is with the app during that time) from NYNY

We're not really looking to venture out anywhere. I'm running into some issues with figuring out costs with renting a car and paying parking versus getting an uber for 4, or taking the monorail (which I don't know if that works with where we're staying).

Thanks all and appreciate any help you can offer, just trying to make a good trip for my buddy.

I’m going Vegas in September and torn between seeing Martin Garrix at Omnia or Tao beach club

I’m going Vegas in September for 5 nights from the 10th.

I am torn on what to do when I’m there. I’m not a HUGE night club fan and am only going with my fiancé, but we still want to go to a club at least once and definitely want to go to a pool party.

There’s three options: seeing Diplo at Encore beach club on the 11th, seeing Martin Garrix at Omnia on the night of the 11th, or seeing Martin Garrix at Tao beach club on the 12th. There’s also the Chainsmokers at Tao beach club on the 13th.

Does anyone have any recommendations if you’ve been there/seen them before?
