This subreddit is under new management!
Hello everyone!
I took over this unmoderated subreddit. It's mostly just been used for bot farmed content and occasional trolling. I'm hoping to make something better of it.
In that effort, I want to get to know the community here, and to take suggestions. Also, if anyone is interested in joining the mod team, please let me know.
Ideally, I would like this to be a place for beginner friendly recipes, as well as a place where new vegans can ask questions and get advice for adapting to the lifestyle. I want this to be a low judgement and helpful community.
Anyway, please reach out if you are interested in helping to build this subreddit into what it ought to be!

Date caramel
I’m experimenting and this turned out super tasty! I also saw other recipes online that use full fat coconut milk but I didn’t have that on hand- next time I want to try it that way and see if it incorporates better with the coffee, this one is working just fine though. It’s like an iced pumpkin spice latte texture-wise.
I used Minimalist Baker’s recipe for date caramel and added some silk protein milk to bring it to the consistency of a sauce in my ninja blender, as well as took her suggestion to add a little salt. With 1 package of Trader Joe’s dates (minus the ones I snacked on) I made a pretty big container. The container I have it in holds 4 cups so I would say I made 3ish.
I’m going to try it on oats and pancakes later in the week, what would y’all use it for?
Would you come to my dairy free coffee shop and order an iced date caramel cold brew from me? Hahaha

protein vegetarian lunch bowl with a homemade roasted capsicum and paneer dressing.
The real star of the show today is the homemade green sauce. Instead of using high calorie store bought dressings, I blended roasted capsicum with hung curd and paneer for a thick, velvety cream that is pure protein.
The Recipes
- Roasted Capsicum & Garlic Protein Sauce
Step 1: Roast your capsicum directly over the flame or in a pan until the skin gets a nice char.
Step 2: Add the roasted capsicum, garlic cloves, paneer cubes, and hung curd into a blender jar.
Step 3: Season with a pinch of salt, jeera power and blend until perfectly smooth and creamy.
- The Roasted Crunch Bowl
Step 1: Toss your cooked rice in a pan with a light oil spray, seasoned generously with oregano and black pepper until fragrant. Press it into a small bowl and invert it in the center of your plate.
Step 2: Dry roast your soaked/boiled soya chunks and chickpeas with a pinch of chat masala until completely crunchy.
Step 3: Arrange the roasted chickpeas, crispy soya chunks, fresh diced tomatoes, and chopped red onions in neat sections around your central rice dome.
Step 4: Pour that vibrant roasted capsicum sauce right over the top and mix it all up
