Every fall/winter at The Barley Merchant Taproom & Kitchen, we squirrel away a kickass collection of BIG, BOLD and BOOZY beers in the cold, dark corners of our beer fridge and on our anniversary, which is in mid summer heat, we start rolling them on to our tap list!

This year, to celebrate our 5th anniversary (H*ly Sh*t! How did that happen?) we’ve got 11 killer brews and one festive cider in the line up!

The first four Dark Days beers will hit our taps on Friday, July 24th and as the kegs kick, they’ll be followed up with another until they are all gone!

I have found a really old bottle of okanagan sparkling pear cider, wondering if anyone would know how old it’d be? There’s no date on it

Beers from breweries that are dead or beers they no longer make.

Doans Rye IPA. Doans was great. Evan was/is great.

I also miss when Nectarous from Four Winds was bottle conditioned. It is good in a can but nowhere near what it was.

Another one for sale, this time in Langley. Shows a list price of $799,999. The realtor posted the lease and sales info so I don’t know how this price is justified. Especially with Beere up for $350k as a baseline.

Anyone have insight?

So Container is using AI to generate promo posts. Responses from them in the comments are super defensive. Feels extra odd given that this is promo for a sticker swap.

I know that this is probably just the way the world is going, but just sad to see it infiltrating the craft beer scene in BC already.

Curious to see which places still do growler fills in Vancouver. I know Powell and Brassneck do, and I'm pretty sure the Burnaby Steamworks location still does, but are there other breweries that still do them?

Had the absolute pleasure of these two beers while in Italy. So, of course I want to find something similar in Vancouver and/or the GVA. They are unfiltered lagers, which I understand is not easily found around here. Ichnusa (pale lager) is a Zwickelbier-style beer. Raffo Lavorazione Grezza is also a lager. Flavour profile would be bready, slightly wild yeasty notes.

I noticed Field House Brewing (via their Good Life brands group) had launched a crowdfunding campaign. Does anyone have experience or thoughts investing in something like this? Thinking of doing it more for the perks than any expectations of profit.

Anyways I really really miss the Apero beers that Kulshan Brewery made. Is there any brewery in metro Vancouver or Fraser valley that makes something similar?

Assuming this is a riff on Synthwave (which I bloody love) with Terpenes. So its super skunky on the nose, but doesn't taste like a pot bomb at all.

Already drank way too much of it!
