After reading a lot and seeing a lot of your Vans i thought i could share my little "Manni" here as well.

It's and 52 year old fire Engine (Magirus Deutz 120D7)I bought in april from a friend of mine. Since then I build myself a little cabine in the back equipped with the necessitys. A bed (1,4m x 2m), a fridge and a sink, as well as some storage space.

The goal was to keep the outside look unchanged and use the space inside for an comfortable bedroom for camping and roadtrips.

It offers space for up to 9 people in the cab so you can also spend rainy evenings inside and play board games and other stuff :D

There's still a bit to do like windows in the back that are hidden behind the shutters while driving or solar panels on the roof as well as some rastauration work on the truck itself.

Up until now i've made a few camping trips around germany and france as well as a small roadtrip (~1000km) through germany (black forest region), france and the swiss.

Recently I bought an old fire fighter trailer used in rural areas to carry the equipment without having an specialized fire engine there.

It's in really nice shape, built in 1957, more than 3 times older than me.

I want to use it to carry my 1979 Vespa (an inheritance of my grandpa), as well as some tools and parts with me on longer vacations.

For the coming years I'm planning roadtrips to everywhere around europe. Up to scandinavia and back over the baltic states as well as all around the southeastern area of europe.

But since my work (that I really enjoy doing) isn't doable with homeoffice (I have to travel to many different sites all around Luxembourg) the lifestyle of "real" Vanlife isn't really compatible to my life at the moment. Maybe someday that will change.

So right now I only do "Vanlife-light" at weekends or holidays :D

I am setting up a montana llc for a used sprinter van been saving toward for almost three years. One registered agent quoted me nearly $200 and that doesnt include the llc filing, title work or annual report. I expected some paperwork costs, but nervous about signing up for another expensive yearly bill without understanding what it covers. What should it include?

I'm doing Vanlife while working in the city to save money and am looking for ideas of what to do in the afternoon after it gets dark (5pm-10pm). I try and have things in the afternoon like bouldering, gym or salsa, but on days w/ no energy I struggle to find places to sit down and relax in the afternoons. I could relax in the van but feels it feels cramped, coffee shops are closed, restaurants cost money and libraries are either closed or you need to be studying in Uni to access them. Anyone have any ideas?

Lost 8lbs sweating it out today but Shadowfax (LOTR) is fully upgraded to all new suspension with the E4/550 ambulance springs. Every part, every bushing and new grade 8’s throughout. Torqued to spec 👍

I ended up going for a higher mount for my medicine cabinet mirror idea and turns out due to this I can technically just use a single hinge door. I think I will just do a double door instead so I don't have tbe large door protruding out so much.

It clears the sink faucet at full mass. Still have to go and buy the shorter screws for the hinges. I out some items in it to mock up my intentions and drove around with it full and it seems fine minus obviously not having door hardware yet.

I also don't recall sharing it but I ended up making the overhead cabinets on the passenger side wall which are a big more shallow but still a good size.

I also did some under bed garage space framing but I have too much junk under the bed to show it off.

I also made the little over partition cabinet frames. I need more wood to create dividers.

Once I clear out the garage I am going to start paneling and setting up the electrical main components.

So I want to be able to haul the family with all the seats and also be able to pull seats out and use for road trips as a camper van. What’s the best way to achieve this? Something modular that is easy in and out? Or just keep it stupid simple, pull seats and camp in back?
