Discussion Valorants new character creation system

Upvotes

I think they should make a new character that has a heal ability that heals you and give you shield (100 shield) and also stims you for 20 seconds. they should also make them have 2 smokes that last for a minute each and also 3 flashes that are instant flashes similar to yoru or phoenix. i would also think that the ultimate should revive all he dead teammates regardless of where they are on the map and make it usable when you die so you also get revived and they should make it so you have a stim for the rest of the round when getting ulted and a regenerative 100 shield.
what do you guys think of this idea? i think it fits perfectly into the game.

Esports 20yo aspiring to go pro, is it possible?

Upvotes

I just turned 20 and I’ve been playing this game for about 2 years now climbed relatively consistently from bronze to immortal (ascendant now) and I have aspirations to go pro. I have done absolutely zero real training in my 2 years of playing and I think if I actually did start getting serious about this game I could hit high immo/rad. I know realistically I only have 1 year left to make it to radiant and attempt to start applying myself to t3, but is it possible for me or is this dream too far out of reach in such a short time span.

Discussion Lost passion for playing

Upvotes

I just graduated from college and I felt that I lost my passion for playing this game. Way back before, I can't let a day go by without even playing a single game. But now I'm not even looking for it anymore. Tho there are still time when I see new skins, I buy it then use it for some time and then stop playing again.

The entire Source Code can be displayed here free of charge: https://github.com/talhakoek/ValorantWebReplayer/

I must say it’s been about a month since I last worked on this, so some updates might have broken it. I haven’t checked, but nevertheless I wanted to share this Webapp I built that can read your Replay file and view it in 2D per round with utility.

makes me think riot is botting when i post here and everyone says they LOVE it

literally anyone ive ever spoken to it says it’s bad; too big and a clone of another map. and it makes sense; who would want to queue into a map with eternal rotates in a ranked queue where people already don’t communicate

Discussion Low elo is just not fun to play in ranked

Just as per title, im an ex plat 2 (when EPs and ACTs where still a thing like 2 yrs ago) that stopped playing val completely. Got back to it recently and ive placed around s3/g1 atm.

I am by no means good at the game, i had a pretty decent aim when i was plat but basically lost all of it, but today holy shit i met one of the most obvius players that either was smurfing or just wasnt meant to be in this elo.

He was lvl62 and had a 52% hs rate (totally abnormal for a normal silver/gold player, at most i saw some have like 23% ish) and he basically totally ruined my game.

Not only he was toxic about it, but my whole team started being toxic towards me as i was slowly but surely tilting cause of the guy (while not being toxic btw but just not trying at my best to win, as i felt like it was impossible) and one another, while i was only getting onetapped as soon as he saw me from whatever angle, and obviusly just ended up as the "bottom frag instalocker reyna" whos a perfect target for some toxic chatting and comms.

On top of that the lovely mmr system gave me a cute -21rr, just like that, while i was vs a 52% hs rate player.

The fact is, i feel like most games u either end up vs someones who's worst then u and ur team or way too strong for u to go against, i maybe had 10/15 games that felt actually balanced in 120 games i played after coming back.

Like, one of my teammates said "its just a game have fun" while trying to not be toxic at first, but how can i have fun if im getting deleted as soon as that guy sees me and then have to wait a good 3mins while doing nothing and being tilted.

Tbh i do understand ppl that just leaves the game, or the rankeds as a gamemode, cause at this point its just a self inflicted torture if u are not an aimgod or be lucky enough to have pretty good teammates.

Discussion Fastest way to level 20 using only Swiftplay games

I'm making a new account to practice new agents on and use before I use my main account. I do not wish to buy accounts as this is against ToS. The issue is making a new account takes a little while and so I wanted to see how long it would take to reach level 20. I decided to test this solely with swiftplay as this is a quick format which does allow plenty win bonus opportunities.

To get to level 20, you need 95,000 AP points.

To keep the estimate consistent, I excluded the First Win of the Day (+4,000 AP for when i tested) since it depends entirely on how often someone logs in. Including it would make the results vary a lot between players. Used calculation help with AI.

AP Formula

After tracking multiple of my Swiftplay matches, the AP gain appears to be very consistent:

- Time played: ~0.671 AP per second

- Equivalent to: ~40.26 AP per minute

- Win bonus: +200 AP

- Losses: No win bonus

So the estimated formula is:

AP = (Time in seconds × 0.671) + 200 AP if you win

Average Swiftplay game

From the matches I tracked, an average Swiftplay lasts around 12 minutes.

- 12 minutes = 720 seconds

- 720 × 0.671 ≈ 483 AP

Assuming you lose every game (no +200 AP win bonus):

95,000 ÷ 483 ≈ 197 Swiftplay games (approximately 40 hours of gaming)

Including Queue Times we're looking at approximately 46-49 hours of gaming

Conclusion

Using only Swiftplay to reach Account Level 20:

Optimistic (longer matches and/or decent win rate):

- ~160 games

- ~35–40 hours

Average estimate:

- ~200 games

- ~46–50 hours

Essentially the best way to do this would be to make every game a 5-4 game so that you maximise the time spent in each game which would help you get more AP. If every game was 15 minutes, it would take 160 games to reach level 20 even if you lost all of them.

The win bonus significantly reduces your time needed to play so I would incorporate that as much as you can.

‐-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What if you win 50% of your games?

The previous estimate assumes you lose every game, meaning you never receive the +200 AP win bonus. In reality, most players will eventually settle around a 50% win rate.

With a 50% win rate, the average win bonus becomes:

200 AP × 50% = 100 AP per game

So instead of earning approximately 483 AP per match, you'd average 583 AP per game. This can mean you only need to play around 163 games to reach level 20.

My Conclusion

If you play 5 swifts a day and win half along with getting the first win of the day bonus...it'll take you around 3 weeks to get level 20. 10 swifts a day and you'll be done in 14 days.

Alot of people make the decision to buy an account for 3 Euros because they cannot be bothered to make this new account.

By increasing the difficulty of making a second account, Riot has effectively pushed players into a situation where they would rather buy an account for 3 Euros and then replace this every few months when it eventually gets banned.

If you needed a second account would you spend 3 weeks playing swiftplay games? or would you pay 3 or 4 Euros to buy an account ready for what you need it for?

Discussion How do u guys deal with tilt mid game?

I sometimes get tilted mid game, and lose motivation, focus, and my aim. I somtimes get tilted bc of a few whiffs or lag in the early rounds. It doesn't happen too often but it does happen occasionally. How do u guys deal with this kind of tilt? And don't say stuff like just don't queue when ur tilted cuz the tilt happens randomly mid game.

Question What’s the angriest yall have been in the game?

I mentioned this in a comment and I want to know other people’s most irritated/ “I gave up at that point” moments. I’ll go first-

I’m relatively low elo so if ykyk about how bad the smurfing really was. Ill set the scene, viper with an Odin I’m guessing qued with an omen on haven. You can probably just guess. Every smoke and every corner, absolutely MOWED down and somehow they knew every time where at least two or three of us would be and they’d camp there, even when we’d change up our strategies we couldn’t shake them. One person on my team was keeping us hostage too.

Pre nerf neon and peak Smurf season. Neon had a judge and she literally haunted us with it. Every corner. Every push. Every entry. Not a single person was safe from this Neon. It was SO bad that her team was apologizing to US in the chat. It was Ace Ace 4k Ace 3k. She would get some of us down with the judge then would one tap the rest of us.

I’ve only turned my pc off with rage one time and it was the neon game. I literally physically felt my blood pressure rise

Question The meta gameplay is slow (Question for the OG Players)

Hey team. I started playing Valorant last year and reached Immortal 1. I have a question for the longtime OG Valorant players.

I came from CS, where the pace is much faster and teams usually commit once they get an opening pick. In Valorant though, almost every game feels very slow. Is that because of the current meta, or has Valorant always been this way?

I've even seen duelists lurking while I end up entering as Cypher, using my cages as smokes and my camera to clear angles. On the other hand, I've also played with aggressive Raze mains who just fly in with a shotgun but that's very rare.

So for the OG players that have 3-6 years in this game: was Valorant's gameplay faster in the early years, or has the game always been this slow?

Question Is my edpi high like abnormally

Before u say anything let me clear somthings i only use my wrist to aim and yes I have more area to use the arm but never felt comfortable. I use 1600 dpi razer deathader with 1.7 in game sensitivity which is 2720 IK ITS INSANELY HIGH at least what I have heard. I tried raw accel for 1month just as an experiment and it made my aim inconsistent. My question is should i change my aiming style for better control and lower my sense and just stick to it. I'm asking this cuz i heard this is absurdly high for edpi
