I wanted to pick a similar adapter for a UC-9 but I don’t think it has the correct lug for it. Is anyone able to confirm that?

McKay Receivers

I’ve been looking to finish my Uzi parts kit build and have seen hit or miss reviews from the McKay Enterprises receivers. Looking to see if anyone who got one in the recent batch has had any issues. Thanks!

UZI FRT?

Anyone aware of a company working on a forced reset trigger for the Uzi platform? I actually personally reached out to a company called Advanced Reset Technology who just released a 3 position trigger for the MPA defender and post other oddball one offs they've made, so I figured it would be worth a shot to reach out to them about the UZI. I did hear back from them, but it was a vague "We are working on designing something for this platform. Stay tuned." Anyone know of any other companies that are working on an frt for the UZI?

Midwest industries brace

Finally got my hands on the Midwest side folder and it’s awesome. Iv been running a strike industries brace and while i prefer their hinge to the Midwest the length made it very uncomfortable to hold while folded. No QD points was also a tad lame but manageable. Plan on using that on a vz build for now.

Micro Uzi Malfunctions

Howdy everybody, running into a bit of issues with my micro, and I’ve ran out of ideas. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction or help me out.

I have a closed bolt FA Micro Uzi (Registered Bolt). I’ve put about 3500 rounds through it with no issues. I can probably count on one hand how many malfunctions I’ve had during that time. Stripped to the bare receiver to clean. The next day I begin having significant issues.

The issues are not wholly consistent. One day I am having one issue the next I’m having other issues.

First 2500 was S&B 115gr
Last 1000 was Monarch 115gr (couldn’t get ahold of S&B for a bit)
Currently running the Monarch

NOTE: I know Monarch isn’t the best ammo, however it ran the last 1000 without any issues.

NOTE: I run the bolt without a trip. Never had issues without it, neither has my father in the 30-40 years he’s ran them

Here are some changes I’ve tried:

  1. New FA extractor
  2. New Semi extractor (cause why not try)
  3. Stretching the mag spring
  4. Ejector is firmly riveted, not moving, and centered.
  5. Bolt freely slides in the receiver, not binding
  6. different barrels
  7. Ensured feed ramp is free of carbon
  8. Inspected the bolt for burrs, none found.

I ran 250 rounds today with an IMI mag and a new FA extractor. Kept detailed notes, here’s what I got:

Tested FA extractor, Semi extractor, stretching spring, 2 barrels, supressed to give more back pressure at separate times.

2 mags ran with no issues

10 Failure to eject (stovepipe)
3 failure to feed
1 failure to fire
7 failures to extract (all while supressed on 1 mag)

NOTE: I have noticed 1 correlation in the data I’ve collected: ALL malfunctions in the 250 I ran today were mostly in the first 1/4 mag, all within the first 1/2 mag.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Should have a 1 day turnaround with testing ideas

EDIT: SOLVED**********

Too much play in the top cover, temporary fix of zip tying it to the receiver fixed the issue. Will be welding the latch a bit to take up the play.

Converting FA Bolt to SA.

Does anyone know of a company that converts FA uzi bolts to semi? Struck out on M3, Mackay and practical solutions. Hoping to save a few bucks and get the bolt converted so i can keep the original one too. Looking like buying a semi is the only option.

Anything out there? TIA.

Needing a folding stock screw and nut. Ordered the set from Northridge but it's stuck in Memphis USPS hell. Been stuck there for a week now.

Anyone have another source for the set. A lot of surplus places on the net are out of stock.

Anyone here have the set?

Thanks

Hard To Rack

Post image
42 Upvotes

Hey guys, I have a IMI Model B 9mm. Its been handed down 3 generations now and I love shooting it. Im curious on something. It has always been hard to rack the slide/bolt. It shoots well and does not jam really ever. But it is really hard to pull the handle and rack it.

Is this normal? Is it just a lube issue? Is there something wrong?

Thank!

Hello all!

Like the title says, im building an IMI uzi from a parts kit, turning semi auto of course, but using the original trunnion and plan on getting an SMG barrel. tax stamp coming soon. What feed ramp do I use if im using the SMG barrel. This is the last piece of information I need before ordering the barrel and welding. Thanks in advance!

Mini Uzi parts compatibility

For closed bolt mini uzis:

What standard uzi parts are not compatible with the mini uzi? I know the receiver, top cover, bolt, striker system, barrel, and handguards are all mini uzi specific, but are there any other parts that I am not aware of? Thank you

The rear weld on this receiver is funky. Wanted to get others opinions on if they own anything similar or if this is normal for re-welded receivers. Its from an original IMI Israeli Hebrew Uzi parts kit (Model A). Gun functions fine, just aesthetically not pleasing.

Also, would like to know if there is a fix for this? Thank you in advance!

UZI full auto bolt legality question

I am looking into making an UZI from surplus parts kits. I thought the only thing other than the parts kit that I would need to buy is the receiver, but I heard that you would need to swap out the full auto bolt for a semi auto bolt. If I am not mistaken, many civilian semi-automatic Ar-15s utilize full auto bolts, so this wouldn't mean anything. I know the UZI is open bolt, not closed bolt, but open bolt firearms are not really banned like what many people believe. However, it is still a grey area. Does anyone else have more information that may confirm or deny this plan?

In short, is a semi-automatic, open bolt UZI legal?

Model A fails to feed and eject cases.

Hi guys, my UZI Model A pretty consistently fails to feed and eject cases. Maybe once per mag every other mag or so. I am using Winchester 9mm NATO and European 9mm Para ammo and good and great condition IMI mags.

Any pointers or ideas you could offer me? I gently bent down the front tab of the top cover down as it seemed very tight on top of the bolt, which seemed to reduce the number of, but not eliminate, jams.

I also removed and thoroughly cleaned the extractor, which was caked in carbon. Still fails to eject, sharp and no wear.

This is a very early serial gun, if you think that may make a difference i.e. factory bugs still being worked out.

Thank you!
