Hi everyone,
I’m trying to decide where to live for the upcoming semester and would really appreciate some advice.
The apartments close to Storrs campus either don’t have any one-bedroom units available, are pretty expensive, or are older and don’t include things like an in-unit washer and dryer.
I’m considering living in downtown Hartford instead, but I don’t have a car, so I’d be relying on public transportation. My classes will most likely be 3-4 days a week, and they start at 8 AM.
For those who have lived downtown:
Is public transportation reliable enough to get to an 8 AM class on time?
Has anyone had 8 AM classes while commuting by bus? How was your experience?
Would you recommend living downtown, or is it worth paying more to live closer to campus?
Even if I live closer to UCONN Storrs, I still need to rely on the bus because I don’t have a car. I’m also looking for a one-bedroom apartment since I don’t want to have roommates, and there aren’t many affordable options available right now.
I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks!
